They probably had their regular tour engineer for the stadium sound, but then somebody out in the television mobile would be mixing for the broadcast. That's a bit different than mixing for the PA as broadcast has some limitations that you don't have with live sound. It looks like Billie Joe's guitar was pretty light in the mix at 4:03, so it wasn't perfect, but it was pretty damn good!

Yeah, but they definitely added a few things here and there. At 4:58 and 5:32, you can hear stuff Tré doesn't play and it's not a delay or anything. The engineer probably added that later for the video.
Many of the tracks played were studio tracks. Mixing those with the live stuff can't be easy to do and sounds great for a show overall!
Really nice of them to let those guys play a football game before and after their show

Not taking anything away from Green Day, who were amazing, but maybe last year’s lame country show in Regina erased your memory of all of the big acts that have come before (Google it.) The Arkells put on a memorable performance that rocked Tim Hortons Field just two years ago. Plus, I can’t think of many Super Bowl games that could top what we saw yesterday.

As a Canadian, I'll just say we got CRAZY lucky to have Green Day play OUR Halftime show!! I watched the game & saw this last night - I couldn't have been happier! Fantastic preformonce!!

As a Quebequer, I wonder why Canadians dont have at least one good rock band to do the gig. This is another proof that there is no canadian culture. Without Québec, Canada is only a huge Wyoming. Sad for you guys.

It makes sense to switch them for this scenario. Ending the halftime show with a ballad doesn’t make sense for the context they are in.

Are these guys ever not crazy tight, awesome performers and get a crowd wild? They are doing what they were born to do.
I've seen them probably 7 times and they have always been nothing short of amazing live!!! They always give 1000000%! Such an experience to see them live, especially up close!
I saw them 7 years ago. I was blown away by how good they sound in person. The recordings don't even sound as good as the live experience of what I saw
I have seen them 4 times live. Still the best live band I've seen! His interaction with the crowd is just mind blowing and their energy is insane! Seeing them again next year 🙌🙌

I would argue they are better sounding then they were in the American Idiot tours and earlier. I’ve saw them off and on for the last 25+ years.

Hi! I'm amazed at how well they kept mikes sound organized with the drum sound that kept Billy singing damn good. Really could hear their beautiful Thumps. I'm still a crazy fan, fam. The chord rips, let it Be! Really sounded traditional to the garage. Awesome 👍❤

It wasn't that cold, besides they are actually hot and sweaty, because of all those stage lights, and them moving around the stage.
Its always a blast watching them live. It never gets old hearing their music

I was there and it sounded as good as any stadium show I've ever been to. The vibe was magical. CFL fans from across the country were there and all partied together like old friends. That's Canada for you.
Got my tickets for the Toronto show in August. This was a very welcoming tease.

I grew up listening to Green Day as a kid and got to see them live a few times over the years. I tried to get my tickets for the upcoming tour here in the States and the prices are obscenely high.
I hate that Ticketmaster has such a monopoly on the venues here. I did manage to get tickets, but I’m hoping the next tour is smaller venues and more reasonable prices.
Just yesterday I bought tickets to the Green Day show in Seattle next September. I'm going to drive down from Vancouver for it and am super stoked! Then today I find this on RUclips and am even more stoked. I only wish was that the Interruptors were going to open for them on the US tour, not just in Europe.

Damn this is the fullest I’ve heard the band from a live perspective in a while, and I think it really came through on TADIKM. Compare the two of the live version here and the recorded version and damn. The drums have this gut punch to them, the guitars are vibrant, Mike’s bass is really cutting through either because of the mix itself and/or using that old Gibson G3, Billie’s vocals sound great, just god damn do they sound good! I’m finally seeing them live for the first time next year on their tour after having been a fan since I was like 12, and I’ll be 27 when I see them. Top of my bucket list, and I can’t wait!
