    With these ''sound like..'' episodes, rabea's massive skill level is just underappreciated. He plays all these insane riffs/licks/solos from so many artists with so much ease. It's great.

    I have that guitar. Just for a little correction on the spec, the tone control is the coil-split for both pickups, and the volume control when pulled out, is the high-pass filter, which when the volume is turned down, it still retains the highs in the EQ without getting muddy. Other than that, your guys' videos always rock!! \m/

      Andrew Pappas errrm get the shittest sounding amp, line 6 something like that. Put the gain on full take all mid out buy a expensive 10 band EQ take all the middle out again. Get a guitar with EMG pickups don't spend a lot on said guitar because your sounding like dogshit so don't worry. Then buy Kirk's wank pedal use it until your foot feels like it's bleeding don't stop push though man. Then strut round telling everyone your the best metal band that's ever lived EVER that should do it. If in doubt take the middle out.

    Do Motorhead but with a bass as well!

    • @yetanotherbassdude
      @yetanotherbassdude 6 лет назад

      Yeah, you couldn't do Motorhead without doing Lemmy's bass rig. I'd be really curious to see how they'd handle this without busting the bank. A Ricky 4003 is £2k+ on its own but the grindy midrange of them is such a big part of Lemmy's tone. And then there's the amps - a Marshall Super Bass into 4x12 and 4x15 bass cabs would be crazy to recreate! Trying to get a bass rig that sounds like that for anything near £1500 would be a real challenge! Fast Eddie's rig would be way simpler though so you could spend more time on the bass. He'd basically be a Marshall with a wah and an OD-1 - maybe a good showcase for the new Marshall Origin series?

    Good shot at it. Joe's new touring rig (since 2013) has been his usual suspects in the front, IE: Big Bad Wah, Pog, Fulltone Octafuzz, Gen 5 Whammy. That goes into his JVM410JS. Lately he's been using an AxeFx II+ in the loop for all his modulations and delays and has been using the AxeFx in the studio quite a bit. I think he's even endorsed by Fractal now.

  • @BrazenNL

    Cool stuff! Pretty much nailed the Satch Tone. Far, far better than the NOT Busting the Bank tone. The JS24P is an awesome guitar. I love mine. Every bit as good as the JS2450 IMO, yet almost 1/2 price. What's not to like? A couple of things: (1) the Push Pull Volume Pot does not split the Neck Pup. It engages the High Pass Filter for maintaining High Frequencies at Lower Volumes. The Push Pull Tone Pot Splits the coils on both pups (2) the fingerboard wood is currently Panga Panga. It used to be Rosewood but was changed due to CITES restrictions

    I need to clarify an inaccuracy that Rabea said about the JS24PCA guitar. The Tone knob pulls out to split the coils, but when you pull out the volume knob it does not split any coils. The push/pull on the volume is for a high pass filter. When you roll off the volume you lose some high end and at low volumes this allows the high end to stay the same as if you had the volume rolled at full volume on the guitar.
    I just purchased this guitar from Sweetwater in the states and I am absolutely loving it! I have a Jackson Soloist Pro MAH I paid 1k for. I can honestly say in every way that the Satriani guitar is a far better axe so I have the Jackson listed on Craigslist now.

  • @JKM395

    Great job fellas! You don't even have to be a Satch fan, that is just a great rig that will do a ton more than just high gain. Satriani was the first solo guitar guy I ever really got into. I'd still love to see you do EVH.

    Volume push/pull is a high pass filter. I don't remember Joe using reverb ....
    Still sounds pretty cool though !!!

    Just had an idea, when you mention prices, it would awesome to show on the screen the conversion rate for USD, EUR, AUD and maybe a few others. You guys will know where your international orders are coming from. Obviously you'd need a disclaimer *conversion rate as at time of recording.

    The volume push/pull is actually a high pass filter not a coil tap
    Coil tap for both pickups is just pulling out the tone
