Yes Eastwood isn't as big as those other two places, but it has a lot of cool things going for it and you can find better value apartments. We're actually looking at apartments in Bonifacio, but just looking right now
Yes and I like the walkabilty of Eastwood and the community feel. Plus I think Eastwood has the best architecture. Bonifacio global city has the big sidewalks though which are nice and more parks and stuff like that
Rewriting my prior reply, to the point: compliments to your observation/opinion & discussion of Eastwood in comparison to USA cities. Gr8 analysis, I thought. If you have more to say on this I think it would be interesting. I agree, not San Francisco. But I don’t know how Eastwood looks enough to pick a USA city. (Haven’t watched this video yet, just listened). I know Chicago, lived there a year long ago. I think I see your point. I enjoy eclectic -ticity? lol. I have varied tastes. But I must say the architecture of those limestone using cities & that old country (European) aesthetic, will always appeal to me. Like Chicago, Pittsburgh & Milwaukee (often called industrial only but these cities are pretty too, beautiful in that style of architecture, also Indianapolis, Bloomington, Minneapolis/St Paul. I’m not an architectural expert or very knowledgeable so I don’t know if these are all the same styles or schools of art. But these cities’ historical centers & buildings are wonderful to look at & be in, to me. Oh also Wash DC, different than the others, but limestoney.
Yea Eastwood is just a little area within Quezon city, so it's not really comparable to big cities because big cities are going to vary with their style a lot depending on the neighborhood whereas Eastwood is basically just like one neighborhood in comparison, rather than a collective city. I just see a lot of youtubers say it's San Fran of The Philippines, probably because the trolley cars, but I didn't really see any resemblance of it besides that. The buildings more notably reminded me of some in chicago, but like you said a lot of cities will have those style buildings in some neighborhoods. I just went with chicago because it's more known to international viewers than the let's say a Milwaukee, though that's a good example because Milwaukee has a lot of that German and European influence I agree with what you sai, I like when a city has a mix of the modern and traditional style architecture. It gives it some charm and personality
Yes my other 2 main vloggers mention the SF comparison. But I disagree, I actually didn’t fully realize until I watched your vlog but I disagreed with the comparison . The trolley cars didn’t move me, they are everywhere. Maybe not on rails, but “fake” fueled etc, but also true trollies & even the fake are often very historic in their locales, maybe not as old as San Fran, but long time, just not as famous.
Yea a lot of people have recommended Alabang, so I will check it out. We have the new born baby now though so travel is a little limited for a little while
@@TheNYCexpat Obviously, BGC levelled up and is a larger and better version. But seriously, BGC as clickbait by Westerners really is getting old. I wonder if they get views if they make the same clickbait videos if they go to KL, Singapore, Jakarta or Bangkok. I am now based in NYC by the way. I miss my home country and videos showing developments at home are driving the high viewership of Philippine videos. The Filipino diaspora is more than 10-12 million. The clickbait videos are obvious especially when the presenter just make videos just for the sake of it. The videos getting views are those who post well presented videos that pique the viewers interest, clickbait nothwithstanding. Always Be Changing is a good example of well presented videos. Though just a little clickbait, their videos are well presented and well thought out. I realize they were previously in Sales/ Marketing and video presentation. It shows in the output. I am going to make a video on this actually, but will still give you the short answer of it. First off, it depends on what you're looking for in a place, but to me manila has the advantage of being the main island in the Philippines because of this it has more developed cities, better hospitals, you get your mail quicker, access to an airport that goes directly to the usa, when bands or shows come through they often will visit Manila if only doing one show in Philippines, just stuff like that. Manila feels more developed overall. Cebu is also very nice, but feels more rural. Cebu city has a few urban developed areas, but nothing like the big cities in Manila. Cebu has nice beaches and a lot of nature. Manila also has nice beaches, but you have to drive like two hours through Luzon lol Found Visayan people to be more friendly overall like they will talk your ear off haha That's about what I can think off off the top. Eastwood is the oldest lifestyle township in Metro Manila. BGC is the newest one. Upcoming is the Arca in Taguig City and Bridgetown & Arca; both are in Pasig City.
Yes i've been to all of them. Or course Bonifacio global city is nice and spacious, but Eastwood is charming in its own right and feels like it had a good community.
The other two from my experience aren't really there yet. They feel unfinished
Don't forget Arcovia and Estancia in Ortigas... they're building stuff nonstop

Eastwood is close to my hometown of Marikina City where I grew up for a little over 10 years and I am glad my father didn't sell our home when we moved here in NYC back in the 90s. I and my brother have been maintaining it to prepare us for our retirement in the future. I am happy for you and wish the best of anything life over there can offer and I look forward to join with you soon. I hope you also visit my hometown because it also has that city vibes with small town feel in it in a different way.
Hey what's up! We've been to Marikina many times, my wife's obgyn was there and we also like to go to the riverbanks mall area because they have a nice walking area over there and had a lot of shops and things during christmas time. Marikina is a cool place

I was in Eastwood last year. BGC and Makati are more expensive and more bars. In Eastwood I saw night shift call center workers going to happy hour in the morning. Its super safe and people walking around and some shops are open 24/7. BGC/Makati is closer to the Airport.
Yes Eastwood isn't as big as those other two places, but it has a lot of cool things going for it and you can find better value apartments. We're actually looking at apartments in Bonifacio, but just looking right now
Eastwood is right the middle. It’s a great location. Close to Makati and BGC, closer to QC.
👍🏼
Yes and I like the walkabilty of Eastwood and the community feel. Plus I think Eastwood has the best architecture. Bonifacio global city has the big sidewalks though which are nice and more parks and stuff like that
Good man 👍
Love the hat !! Let's go Yankees !!!

Yes believe it or not the above is shortened from the original comment 🙊😅
Yea Eastwood is just a little area within Quezon city, so it's not really comparable to big cities because big cities are going to vary with their style a lot depending on the neighborhood whereas Eastwood is basically just like one neighborhood in comparison, rather than a collective city.
I just see a lot of youtubers say it's San Fran of The Philippines, probably because the trolley cars, but I didn't really see any resemblance of it besides that. The buildings more notably reminded me of some in chicago, but like you said a lot of cities will have those style buildings in some neighborhoods. I just went with chicago because it's more known to international viewers than the let's say a Milwaukee, though that's a good example because Milwaukee has a lot of that German and European influence
I agree with what you sai, I like when a city has a mix of the modern and traditional style architecture.
Well said ❤ thats why i subscribed 👍😁🤚🇵🇭💪

Eastwood was eastwood and still is Eastwood when BGC was just a large expanse of land. It was there at the turn of the century.
Yes I seen that how it was years ago. Which do you prefer?
Now living here in NYC, I get what most Westerners say about life in the Western world. But that is another topic. . But keep up with your style. You will capture a niche. Just keep it real. Kudos and hope you enjoy living in the country.

What are the noteable differences that you noticed between living in Cebu and Manila in General?
Manila also has nice beaches, but you have to drive like two hours through Luzon lol
Found Visayan people to be more friendly overall like they will talk your ear off haha
That's about what I can think off off the top. I'll make a video going into more detail on the different places to live and what comes with them
@@TheNYCexpat As a native Manileño, and as someone who has been Cebu before your answer is 100% correct.👍
