Back then you would have only been able to watch the episodes once a week, and if you missed an episode you'd have to wait 7 months for a rerun. And if the show was canceled you'd have to wait years to find out if the series became syndicated by some oldies channel. Only really wealthy people could obtain a very archaic ancestor of what would become the prototype of the VCR. In this day and age you can watch anything and everything ever put to film all day , every day. So some of the simple things were actually really complicated way back in the early 1970s. It's these things created to make life easier, that is making life complicated. Now you have to meet someone online before even considering having an actual conversation in their presence. And of course you have to run extensive and intimately detailed background checks on each other before a physical encounter in a public setting can take place
