That guy didn't make it any easier hanging around them all the time. She got what was coming to her for murder, but I thought it was going to end with her getting revenge on the friend for using her somehow. Still liked this ending though. @@markfaulkner5626 I knew I was in the ballpark! I distinctly remember it being on NBC, with two of my fave episodes being "Graveyard Shift" with John Astin and another about a bunch of hippie artists that found these 6 glass jars in a flat they rented for their artistic ventures, only to be possessed by the jars as they devoured their spirits.
Friday nights were also reserved for The Planet Of The Apes TV series, Kolchak The Night Stalker and the CBS Late movie. So many memories from that day, and hard to believe it was nearly 50 years ago out of my life!

The guy opens the door and they switch to the interior shot where the two squares are now taller than they are wide and B A N G..............we're back in the Bewitched house again. I wonder how much rent Darrin and Samantha are getting for this place? Seems like everyone lives there now. :)

I love all the stars in these. They were wonderful. Not like the crap they spew out today. But the poor tarantula. This is why I had arachnophobia till I was in my 40's. Because Tv shows portrayed them as evil. But with therapy I learned to love spiders. So do not fear tarantulas. I have a curly haired tarantula and she is as laid back as ever. LOL But other than that I am enjoying watching these again. I know I watched them once a couple of years ago, but I have a brain injury that allows me to watch things over and over again (after some time has passed) because I don't remember what happens. lol The good side to an injury. :) Thanks so much for posting!!

Night Gallery was winding down this same year with episodes that were nowhere near as good as the season before, and the next horror show that I.would be interested in wouldn't begin for almost two years. ..The Night Stalker...but this WAS the era of the great spooky movie of the Week movies that were often so memorable.

I find this episode absolutely riveting. It's the best of all those I've seen so far. Oh, sure, it has the William Castle shlocky elements, but it all works. Great pacing and suspense, effective musical accompaniment, and a great performance by Janet Leigh, whom I've always thought was another under-rated actress. Her style was very naturalistic and convincing. She had 'acting honesty', by which I mean she had natural talent and not too much (or the wrong kind) of training. I also love how not too much is said; inference and action take the place of too much dialogue, something more contemporary tv horror shows don't do as well. Of course, the film-makers were referencing Janet's role in 'Psycho', (and of course the famous and shocking 'shower scene') but that was a fabulous idea too and they didn't make too close a connection.
