Spoilers ahead but maybe someone can answer. Obviously, the girl was sapped of her youth to make the old woman young. Is the younger dark haired woman at the end (crying) the old woman? Why is she crying . . . guilt? or relief that she is free? Was old woman's youth sapped as well? By who and for what? Did the house sap too? What happened to Emily? Was she the granddaughter or another hapless hire who was sapped of her youth? I think she's a ghost. Is the son Carl the son or the old woman's BF? Was Emily's youth sapped to make him younger? Was the gardener just a hired hand who knew too much or related and part of the plot? How was he dead under the bed and then alive at the end? So many questions . . . .

Maybe this will help; SPOILER ALERT -- -- -- After finishing breakfast, Veronica is requested by Mrs. Bloom to help her pack for “home.” Veronica thinks her dementia has kicked in and tries to explain to her that she was in her home. More unnerving events occur when Mrs. Bloom seems to see someone, and Veronica thinks that she is just hallucinating, shutting the door behind them. Later, Veronica comes across Emily, who says that she has just come to visit Grandma, but as she was sleeping, she left without meeting her. Veronica is later informed by Mrs. Bloom that Emily passed away years ago because of tuberculosis, which startles her. She feels a strange presence in the house that she tries explaining to Mrs. Bloom, but she turns a deaf ear to her fears. On going out for a walk, Veronica seems to be chased by someone, and when she tells Mrs. Bloom that, she gets angry and tells her that she would be fired if she left the house. Several unnatural events occur in the house, and Veronica starts feeling sicker with each passing day. Her phone had been taken away by Charles so that she could not have any contact with anyone. Veronica is often able to hear a man and a woman whispering and talking amongst themselves about feeling bad for doing certain things to her. We also see Mrs. Bloom often talking to a strange man named Henry in the house, who suddenly keeps disappearing. Charles and Mrs. Bloom are seen draining Veronica’s blood at night when she is sleeping. In the morning, we see her complaining about the bruises on her arm. She contemplates leaving the house when she is offered soup by Mrs. Bloom, and upon having it, she passes out. As the days pass, Veronica sees herself aging and doesn’t understand what is wrong with her. She also comes across Mrs. Bloom’s diary, where she wrote that she was feeling guilty for doing something bad to Veronica. She is seen toiling, spending sleepless nights, and becoming forgetful, weak, and cranky. She asks Charles to take her home and tells him that it has been a week since she has been working, only to be informed that she has been working for more than two months. She gets agitated to the point of slapping Mrs. Bloom during dinner, only to be rebuked by Charles, who demands she stay there for another week, as she owes his mother some care. The mother-son duo keeps finding excuses to stretch her stay at the house. She tries leaving twice, but somehow, the house keeps pulling her back, and she does not seem to find an escape. As Veronica ages with the advancing days, Mrs. Bloom seems to gain more strength, and she stands up on her own two feet. We see Charles preparing a blood bath for Mrs. Bloom in the garden out of Veronica’s drained blood. Veronica is tied up in a chair as Emily and Charles stand beside her. As Mrs. Bloom approaches Veronica, she tells her how she has been cursed and how she is going to pass it down to her. She tells her the story of the real Mrs. Bloom, whose granddaughter Emily had tuberculosis, and how she contracted it from her. Their family members had abandoned them and left them to rot in the house. After Emily’s passing, Mrs. Bloom prayed for death, which never came, and then she made a pact with an evil spirit in exchange for death. Henry was the spirit that the deal was made with, with whom Mrs. Bloom used to talk. It was his presence that Veronica had been feeling throughout her stay at the house. The spirit wanted a new Mrs. Bloom in exchange for the old one, and hence, the curse had to be passed down. As new candidates are found, the old ones take a blood bath to regain their youth. We see Mrs. Bloom take a blood bath, only to return to her younger self and pass on her old age to Veronica. Charles is seen to be the young woman’s father, who is helping his daughter pass on the curse to another candidate and get rid of it. As they leave the house, she sympathizes with Veronica and tells her that only the first few days will be tough, and then the house will let her know when it will find a new candidate. She is also told that the gardener, Joe, will always keep her company. The freedom that the girl experiences after being rid of Mrs. Bloom’s body is inexplicable. She looks at herself in the mirror, puts some lipstick on, and is gleaming with happiness. We are not sure as to how long she’s been trapped in an old woman’s body for, but she seems very happy to be able to return home. The last scene does clear a lot of doubts. When Mrs. Bloom was talking about packing up to return home, she was expressing her desire to return to her own place as a young woman again.
It was a good mystery/horror (not scary horror type) and very well filmed. kept the mystery but I feel like the writer added scenes and story characters that made no sense. Possible spoilers:..... Like the Father. What was it with him? How did he seem to come and go like he was a ghost? Why in the bed scene with him and the old woman make no sense? He even said some things that made no sense on the conclusion of the story, like "your no longer scared of me"? It's as if the writer added some stuff that was for the sake of the drama but really had nothing to do with anything. Why was the granddaughter (emily) even there? But I still enjoyed this and it was very well produced.
just to add that, the Son (father) of the old lady was not actually the man who appeared in the bed, but rather the entity to whom the initial miss Bloom made the pact t
This gave me the creeps. Reminds me of an event in my childhood where I wandered into the bedroom of an old woman named Miss Dora, and she scared the living daylights out of me. I went through a dark door.
Old people have always been monsters in my eyes. I remember screaming and crying because I had to sit on Santa's lap. No. Toy was worth that! I still think it's crazy how distorted humans become with age and now I'm Old. 😮
For once it wasn't a horror movie with an entire cast of teens. Good to see a broader range of ages. Good story, well acted by the main character. A few lapses in timing that could have been fixed during editing. Sound track was great. Well done.
That’s the whole point… she stays younger looking from these young girls they kidnap. She starts getting older and more frail til they find a new one… that’s the whole point of the movie. lol
6:49 - if I'd seen that crazy grin on his face I'd have been out of that truck and heading for the hills. 34:10 --- my response would have been --- "Ok, see ya"
A movie is viewed by the general public based on how the producer wants to show the story. We can't question why the actor/actress didn't do this or that in the scenes. It's an individual's opinion of whether the movie is good or not worth watching. Someone may like the movie, and someone may not.
Good point. It’s also extremely difficult with a low budget to do a crazy amount of things. So the story has to be kept to a minimum amount of locations and characters.
Her cell wasn't going to do her much good in this film, was it. Nope. The house had her & she wasn't lookin to flee when she had the strength anyways. 1 week, 1 month. Nope. Cellular service was useless here anyway. Well, her mom maybe could've helped but I doubt it from the reasons above. A lesson, because she won't pick up "weird" numbers, (landlines) she helped her daughter get in this predicament. Here's a true story. A mountain climber got lost. For days he was lost. Unlimited Resources out looking for this brainiac. Turned out, there was a number that kept calling him...SEARCH AND RESCUE! Brainiac wouldn't answer cause he thought it was "spam". Smh. Even if it _was spam_ didn't he think that he could report his issues with them to get help?! So... don't think that a phone or service is going to get you the results you want, or in these cases, need! Kyle hates hiking Check it out yourselves. 😊
@@jenniferrussell9118 Exactly Jennifer. There are many areas near where I'm located that are full on towns with no service. The one town is on a border crossing (within a mile) and I know it's the same for the other side as well. U.S/Canada border. Gee what a spot to not have decent service! Patchy service at best. Who would ever believe it?!?! So, indeed, regarding this movie and my comment, I thought that this show was very realistic regarding its portrayal of cell phone services. PLUS, like I said they did have a landline. It isn't like that there was no phones at all. A landline is the same as a cell phone, minus the mobility part but she wasn't allowed to leave the house anyhow! So yeah, landlines are just like mobile phones except landlines have service 99% of the time, that is, lol.
I was going to say the same thing. I don't know why people re so foolish cause if it was to be in real life that day I started that job, I would run away from that home and never come back.
But then we wouldn’t have a movie would we? It’s like saying the moment anyone in fast and furious speeds, the cops would stop them and they’d get a ticket. We know that’s not how real life works. It’s a movie lol
This movie had an interesting plot. It kept my interest most of the way through. The acting was good. No one was overacting that I could tell. But I had problems with this movie. First of all, where is Victoria's mother? If my daughter told me she would call me "on the way home" and then didn't, I would send people out to look for her or go myself. Her mother even said something was wrong on the phone. She knew. Secondly, continuity.... when Victoria talked to Mr. Bloom on the phone, he said he would come tomorrow. Tomorrow came. I know because the sun was out. I expected Mr. Bloom to show up all day but he didn't. Then it was night again. Then the next day came, and then he showed up at the house. He was supposed to be there yesterday. I just didn't like this movie very much. If the same things happened to me that happened to Victoria, I would not wait. I would run, not walk away from there as fast as I could. Was she really so stupid that she didn't know what was happening? I could see it coming a mile away, but she couldn't. She may have been drugged, but she wasn't drugged ALL of the time. I know the time came when she could not leave, but she could have left before that, when it was obvious what was happening to her. I kept waiting for her to leave. And as for things that should have been explained, who was the person in white running around in the forest? We know it wasn't the demented old woman, because she was in the house when Victoria got back. She was ringing the bell. Why was the woman in white even in the movie? I see a lot of movies every week. I LOVE movies. I liked this one a little, but not as much as I liked others.
Just a few minutes in, and im excited to watch this. I literally just moved out of state to take a live-in caregiving job for a woman's elderly, disabled brother while she's out of the country for 2 months, so this is Perfectly ironic. 😅 Will edit when I'm through. Edit: The movie was good enough, I guess. Idk. I get the idea, but I personally don't think they did a good enough job expressing the occult ideas they were ultimately trying to convey. However, the main actresses are memorable, especially the client she cares for. It actually reminded me of several past clients I had with Dementia, and Particularly of an old, white, southern lady I was a live-in for who practiced black magick, so.. idk. Maybe 6.5/10? Entertaining enough to watch the whole thing, and as far as my living situation is concerned, it Did creep me out a bit, for like, a night. 😅🤷♀️
"I'd like my phone back please..." I can't watch anymore of this, it's stupid. who would stay there after that - I'd hit the road even if I had to walk...
@@harrowhousefilmsyeah but before the damage was done she had the chance to leave, it wasn't really the house holding her back it was Charles and his son called mother aka daughter dad duo...Henry was nice and had a conversation with her in bed about going forth with it and she said it's too late that's when it sealed the deal...she had tuberculosis I get it but tb shouldn't stop you from leaving the house...had she just caught onto the I'm desperate I'll pay you anything and actually called hai bluffs, when he said I'll pay you, I'll call the police your fired if you leave, you can just leave...they high key bullied her and she just okay okay okay and if they was talking about her for a long time that's giving me she apart of that house. At the end of the film you see exactly why it had to be her. Pay attention to what Mrs Bloom says at the bath. Regardless, thank you for the wonderful review! It would mean a lot if you copy and paste and leave this same review on IMDb! It helps the film!
She’s a bloom. So the curse can only pass down to another bloom. That’s why they HAD to have her be the one to get hired. And you can leave it in. No worries, as you prefer! 🙌
She wasn't battling dementia. She was manipulative with family secrecy right from the start. Very creepy, you can't trust anybody. Great acting for Elizabeth to tolerate the mental awareness of it all! The ending was so out there! Oh my! Good flic! 🎬😊
Well, a casual little flick🤷🏼♂️🤷🏽♀️ Makes one ask what one would do given the choice to switch places again and pay it backward by going forward because she’s got time like you had time and they all had time all the ones you’ve paid the price and it’s your turn The first few years are the hardest dairy. The first few years are the hardest but you’ll get through it because you’re young you’ve got like 70 more years. And you can start young again sorta not totally, but pretty close Boy, you’re gonna feel as good as I do right now
So 25 mins in, sees an unusual man working on a hedge but not getting anything done. Bandaged hand and warns her she should not stay long, there were others he says?? You think she might leave?? Wakes up with bruises, lady is rude and her phone is taken. Gut feeling of being in danger....sees things...LOL. However she stays on unable to sleep...??? You just want to give that girl a shake LOL.
The house or Charles because I would of been gone remember when tlhwnry and her was talking and she said it's too late...well once she got a hold of her blood to perform the ritual it was over with...they always insist she sleeps so they can take her blood and the body can't function properly if a bag of blood is being taken everyday with no breaks. It's said she wished for death because I'm assuming you just grow old with the house until the next victim...but it seems like they left the daughter and caregiver to die from tb..at the end the picture had more people in it, so what happened to the others they just left or did they die...I only saw Henry and Emily I'm pretty sure their the dead ones..@@skibee421
Good movie! Kind of a Skeleton Key vibe when I realized the old lady is going to switch places with her. I liked it and the way the house was decorated. Made me think of my Grandparents.
Since your comment contains a spoiler, you might want to edit it to say “spoiler alert” at the beginning. Just a courtesy for people who read the comments to see if the movie is any good, but they don’t want to know the ending.
Sleeper hit? Wow...the setting was fantastic and the director knows how to get amazing footage. Some of the shots in here are glorious! I loved the premise and I enjoyed the ride. I do think the acting was a bit weak (except when it wasn't) and that the story needs some smoothing out in places but I really enjoyed this.
I liked the indie American Gothic feel to it and enjoyed the change of tempo from the usual mainstream ware. It reminded me slightly of The Skeleton Key which I enjoyed..
An unusual and original story line with a dark atmosphere that I would imagine would not be everyone's cup of tea. I found it intriguing and worth the watch. This film reminds me a little of The Offering 1977 staring Oliver Reed and Bettie Davis though in this film it was the house that became new all over again, this film too I highly recommend.

So the last caregiver, on being released from her prison, ecstatically embraces the man who tricked her? And trusts him to do what exactly? The camera angles, lighting & cinematography were all excellent. The location was an excellent choice.
La película te atrapa desde el comienzo. La trama muy diferente a las acostumbradas, sin embargo, el desenlace es sombrío y desalentador. Le pongo un 8/10
Okay. SPOILERS!!!!!! Biggest cons: 1. Veronica didn't tell her mom to pick her up. 2. Veronica had too many opportunities to see that her food may have been tampered with. 3. The actress that played the young Mrs. Bloom overdid the acting. She kind of gave porn star acting vibes. It was a little cringe. Pros: 1. It was shot well. Nice angles and movements allowed me to see what I needed to at the right times. Also very good lighting and atmosphere. 2. The story is done well and keeps you wondering what's next. A really good mystery. 3. It's creepy without a whole bunch of jump scares. 4. No gore and unnecessary violence. 5. Very good actors
There were so many red flags that she deliberately ignored like: 1. The "son" looks older than the "mother" 2. He was too damn desperate to "hire" a caregiver 3. The remote house had no cell phone reception 4. She had 2 legs to walk or run away from sicko and his devil mother

We are not sure as to how long she’s been trapped in an old woman’s body for, but she seems very happy to be able to return home. The last scene does clear a lot of doubts. When Mrs. Bloom was talking about packing up to return home, she was expressing her desire to return to her own place as a young woman again.
I have to say, i love how the house is decorated. It has an old timey vibe, but with some cool accents and colors. Love it!❤
Thank you so much!
Benjamin Moore and Restoration Hardware😊
Yes, me too! That is also my dream interior..😊
The rug in the entry way was so beautiful! I want it lol
The music is beautiful who is singing...?
The music and sound design of this production were world class. Well done.
The minute she told me i couldn't leave the premises i would of been out of there like a speeding bullet😅 no questions asked.
😅
That's in the real life, though. I would not pack my things and leave there running right away without even looking back..😂😂😂😂
Very true dear
Yeah me too! Sneak out quietly at night.
ia
An unfair matter. The Young girl is ghilty accepting a job to an unknown place from unknown People. Sad ending.
I'm old and cool as hell bet I got you beat let there be no secrets
It wasn't his age it was his beard😂
That Mrs. Bloom is a fantastic actress.
😮
For once it wasn't a horror movie with an entire cast of teens. Good to see a broader range of ages. Good story, well acted by the main character. A few lapses in timing that could have been fixed during editing. Sound track was great. Well done.
It was refreshing seeing this type of movie without a happy ending!
There is no way I would have took that job!!!! He is crazy and his mother!!!!
Was that even his mother?!
Not being able to bring your own car. The house was out in the country, there's no way I would have went.
That woman is not old enough to be that guy's mother
@jannawalters232 well if you keep watching you will see exactly why that is… watch the entire film.
Yes but she didn't see that! 😂😂😂
You called that one!!!!
6:49 Is that intentional that the face looks the spitting image of 'Johnny' (Jack Nicholson-The Shinning)?
@@MikeGreenwood51 I wouldn't know - I haven't seen The Shining.
@@harrowhousefilms Tha budget was under 0.5

Hello from Chicago Illinois us.how is everything good I hope????
Oh yeah this is James lemon from Chicago Illinois us.
Hello, Florida here.👋
And, of course- there's NEVER ANY cellular phone service.
😅😅😅😅 Yes
Kyle hates hiking
Check it out yourselves. 😊
That is believable, cell phone service where I live in the UK is hard to get. In fact some providers cannot connect.
Not good. Waste of time.
There was a chill in my bones after seeing ghost of Emily. Mrs Bloom said that Emily had died long ago because of TB
Good movie ! but reminds me of skeleton key with kate hudson that was an excellent movie too !
Yes! Very similar & Mrs Bloom killed it!!!
I don't understand are people really this stupid like how does she not know she's being drugged and poked with a needle soo unrealistic 😢
Unrealistic, but a good movie nonetheless.
Okay
Okay
An amazing film..well-acted, scripted, filmed and great soundtrack. Worth watching again@
Addirittura, guardarlo di nuovo!
Lol
Not a bad movie! I loved the house! Especially the wallpaper! Made it like an old time movie! I could definitely live in that house! ❤
Be my guest! Lol 😮

Lol Nice 😅
Not with that mother haha
Good movie. It reminds me of ‘The Skeleton Key’. 🔑
Just a few minutes in, and im excited to watch this. I literally just moved out of state to take a live-in caregiving job for a woman's elderly, disabled brother while she's out of the country for 2 months, so this is Perfectly ironic. 😅
Will edit when I'm through.
😮😅
"I'd like my phone back please..." I can't watch anymore of this, it's stupid. who would stay there after that - I'd hit the road even if I had to walk...
Did you happen to see the part when she walked out?
I agree
nope, I couldn't stomach more of it..@@harrowhousefilms
finally someone who gets it! It was such a waste of time
@@harrowhousefilmsyeah but before the damage was done she had the chance to leave, it wasn't really the house holding her back it was Charles and his son called mother aka daughter dad duo...Henry was nice and had a conversation with her in bed about going forth with it and she said it's too late that's when it sealed the deal...she had tuberculosis I get it but tb shouldn't stop you from leaving the house...had she just caught onto the I'm desperate I'll pay you anything and actually called hai bluffs, when he said I'll pay you, I'll call the police your fired if you leave, you can just leave...they high key bullied her and she just okay okay okay and if they was talking about her for a long time that's giving me she apart of that house. What are they psychics and predicted she was going to willingly show up and they just knew her name...that's another red flag because Luis changed how he said that quick...and when she said she had to go home and started freaking out I believe that wasn't an act....once she complety regained her consciousness that's when she was able to tell the truth by then she was experiencing confusion and irritation and the old lady was acting reasonable and sane soo yeah..
Thank you for this movie 🌹 can you perhaps share the soundtrack, please? Thank you.
And usually they run to their car.. and it doesn't start of course.😂

This was a very good movie. Excellent even.
She wasn't battling dementia. She was manipulative with family secrecy right from the start. Very creepy, you can't trust anybody. Great acting for Elizabeth to tolerate the mental awareness of it all!
The ending was so out there! Oh my! Good flic! 🎬😊
Well, a casual little flick🤷🏼♂️🤷🏽♀️
Makes one ask what one would do given the choice to switch places again and pay it backward by going forward because she’s got time like you had time and they all had time all the ones you’ve paid the price and it’s your turn
The first few years are the hardest dairy. The first few years are the hardest but you’ll get through it because you’re young you’ve got like 70 more years.
And you can start young again sorta not totally, but pretty close
Boy, you’re gonna feel as good as I do right now
Very well done. The fountain of youth with the creepy snag at the end. Good job. 👻

Our pleasure!
That scary cracking door sounds..what has happened to Grey.in the end😱
She has to wait for another foolish care taker 😭
It's like the song Hotel Carlifornia. You can check in but you cannot leave.
So the old woman (his mother) is his daughter? So the caregiver...to be able to have back her youth..she must do the same thing?😳🙄
Yup. She needs to find another bloom to take her place.
You just want to give that girl a shake LOL.
the house wouldn't let her leave, remember?
She sure was a lot more patient than I would ever be.
Doesn't call 911🫤
I really enjoyed this movie. It had a hint of another movie, which i loved. Great actors, great storyline. Nailed it! ❤❤❤❤

The skeleton key..
Good movie! Kind of a Skeleton Key vibe when I realized the old lady is going to switch places with her. I liked it and the way the house was decorated. Made me think of my Grandparents.
It's like a mixture of The Skeleton Key and Get Out.
Thank you so much! That is such a nice compliment! Really appreciate it! Thanks for watching it 🙏🏼
I liked the indie American Gothic feel to it and enjoyed the change of tempo from the usual mainstream ware. It reminded me slightly of The Skeleton Key which I enjoyed..

Lol. I was like gutter film aw man. Then realized I was an idiot.
I think you're talking about "Burnt Offerings"???? Karen Black was also in it ???? Great horror movie. The ending scared the BeJesus out of me. I've seen it several times and it's ALWAYS terrorizing!!!
@@GinaDAuria Yes your quite right I do mean'Burnt Offerings' and isn't it a terrific film especially when Karen Black turns around in her chair as Miss Aladice at the end and face's Oliver Reed the look on her face is pure evil, lol

So the last caregiver, on being released from her prison, ecstatically embraces the man who tricked her? And trusts him to do what exactly?
The camera angles, lighting & cinematography were all excellent. The location was an excellent choice.
No. He didn’t trick her. It was her dad all along. He tricked the new caregiver to give his daughter freedom.

THE MOVIE ALSO ILLUMINATES THE SADNESS OF DEMENTIA WHICH WE R NOW SEEING IN YOUNGER PEOPLE.. BRUCE WILLIS.. MID 60S AND WENDY WILLIAMS.. AGE 59
Ouch. Great point. However it sounds like Wendy got brain damage from Alchohol, it's sadly quite common in long term alcoholism.
that is very common in your 40's. So very sad
This movie reminds me of a little of the movie. Burnt offerings with actress Karen Black.
La película te atrapa desde el comienzo. La trama muy diferente a las acostumbradas, sin embargo, el desenlace es sombrío y desalentador. Le pongo un 8/10
Okay. SPOILERS!!!!!!
Biggest cons:
1. Veronica didn't tell her mom to pick her up.
2. Veronica had too many opportunities to see that her food may have been tampered with.
3. The actress that played the young Mrs. Bloom overdid the acting. She kind of gave porn star acting vibes. It was a little cringe.
Pros:
Thank you so much! We appreciate you watching it! 🙌
I would’ve been off like a Prom Dress, the second I was told I couldn’t leave the darn house. 😝
It would not be a movie if everyone did what they should really do. 😂

Very good movie! Absolutely beautiful and realistic!
I really really enjoyed this movie. So many dramatic horror" stinkers! This was so good & gets ya thinking.
🎉8.5/10🎉
There were so many red flags that she deliberately ignored like:
1. The "son" looks older than the "mother"
2. He was too damn desperate to "hire" a caregiver
3. The remote house had no cell phone reception
4. She had 2 legs to walk or run away from sicko and his devil mother
She couldn't leave the house
This movie is giving me vibes of "Skeleton Key". I'm half way through the movie ... and it's very suspenseful.
Yup. Hard to follow, burns too slow. BUT - wow the house and trees! Music and cinematography and some acting purty darn good.
