It was eye opening playing another character after only playing Steve since picking up the game. So many free launchers in comparison it almost feels like you are playing a different game when you're Steve.
As a collective, steve players are some of the best tekken players. All of the cast members have tools that we dont get access to, we don't even get knockdown lows. Steve is for Tekken sadists, people who could easily pick up another character and win but choose to take the most difficult path foward lol
The changes are very interesting, but they heavily conflict with the overall options of other characters. You can make it work but you have to be hardcore on point. It will be interesting to see how bamco is going to adjust steve in the future.
I wouldn't say hes nerfed exactly. He's just different now. If you're talking 50 pts of dmg or less. He's ones of the better characters at overloading your mental stack. The final ver of T8 might be the strongest ever
There is no definitive answer because it's all subjective. My general take on ranks: As long as you keep learning and improving as the main priority. Any new rank that you manage to hit is a personal accomplishment you can be happy about (as long as you do it legit). So keep at it and don't worry about it too much. You already have my respect if you main Steve!
In conclusion: We play Steve not because it is easy but because it is hard

Same, picked up Kuma and got over 20 win streak just because I could whiff punish with a launcher and punish -15 frames with a launcher
