- I show how I assembled my new Char-Broil Performance 4 burner gas grill from Lowe's. This is ITEM Number 0799958 / model number 463347017.

Gang i just this grill together (5 burner) and not one time did i even look at the book of instructions. He is spot on with each detail and it went easy and smooth. Took me 1hr 15min (with stop and pause video) saved my a lot of time and aggravating moments 💪👍
I had to watch your video just for the spring clip at 15:00. I thought I was doing something wrong. I was looking for a second hole but it literally just sits on top. I used the manual to put it together. Took me a little under 2 hours.

Yeah, that part was what made me look up this video. The instruction manual didn't explain it in the slightest. The picture was awful.

Kudos for this video: I followed the instructions to assemble my recently purchased char-broil model 463376217. I didn't find anything that didn't apply to this model as well. I have little experience in projects such as this, but I found the video explained everything I needed to know. If I did not have this video, I expect the project would have taken at least two additional, head scratching, hours.
I did find one point where the video may have contained a minor error. The video suggested placing a washer on a bolt to correct for a too large hole. When I inserted the bolt in the opposite direction(which is believe is the correct direction) I didn't need the washer (which did not come with the the grill). Doing it this way also meant I didn't need the wrench on the nut. The nuts all came with a sort of scored, attached flange which serves as a lock washer and which allowed me to assemble the entire grill without the 10 mm wrench suggested in the video. My only tool was a phillips screw driver.
Man, you should be on Lowes' payroll. The instructions that came with mine stinks out loud pitiful for such a nice grill. You hit it out of the park with this video. Best grill assembly help I have seen for Char Broil..
DUDE!!! This is legit. I just bought the 5 burner one (same as 4) and came across this video. This will make it a lot easier from what i have read. Gonna put together in next few days. Thank You. I'll be watching this few more times

Believe it or not, this is one of their (char-broil’s) easiest grills to assemble, I actually assemble these for a living and I got these down to 17 min....
Maybe this could be an Olympic event.....see who can be the fastest time world record holder.
I just assembled a Char-Broil Performance Infared 3 burner grill. The instructions are terrible. There were a couple things I was not sure of so I hit the internet and came across your tutorial. Yes, Lowes and Char-Broil need to send their customers to this video. I wish I had seen it before I started. At least it answered my remaining questions and it reaffirmed that the rest of my assembly was done correctly. My husband will be happy to come home and see it all ready to start dinner. Thank you. : )
Thanks for the detailed, easy to follow instructions. I seldom use tools at home without someone standing by to dial 9-1-1 for an ambulance but this was pretty quick and only minimally frustrating. We're grillin tonight !
Thanks for posting this. I had the instruction book but your video actually showed me how to pull off what I saw in the booklet, especially when it wasn't exactly clear what I should do (happens a lot!). Saved me from pulling my hair out!

Thanks so much for this video. i just purchased the five burner performance model. There are no videos for that model but the steps in the instruction booklet were essentially the same steps you demonstrated. I literally just ran your video as i assembled my grill and followed your instructions. Couldn't have gone any better. For anyone assembling the five burner model, don't think twice , just follow along with this video and you'll sail right through the assembly. Great job!!! Liked and Subscribed...

My partner and I had to assemble this grill. Originally Lowe's had this grill already assembled, all we had to do was pick it up in front of their store. Luckily I found a better deal on this grill, but unfortunately we had to assemble the entire thing ourselves. The store didn't offer delivery and installation. I thought to myself, "How on Earth are we going to accomplish this?". We can't even put a piece of furniture from Ikea together as a couple without it taking us hours to complete (btw, great test on any relationship). I turned to You Tube, I looked at various videos and ONLY YOURS was the one that got us through ALL of the steps accurately!! Thank you for taking the time to post this tutorial because the manual provided is confusing and a nightmare to try to understand.
For those of you that are buying a more modern version of this grill, the steps and instructions are pretty much the same, not the slightest difference. We just assembled ours on March 29, 2019.

Awesome vid. My wife and I followed your instructions and it kept us from killing each other while we did it :-). We only looked at the manual once. However, we put our upper rack on the other way.

We just bought this exact grill, and I Googled looking for an assembly video. The instruction sheet that Char Broil gives you is absolute crap. I set my laptop up on the old grill and went step-by-step. Terrific video! A couple of times he forgot to mention which particular screw to use, or exactly where one went, but I was able to quickly figure it out.
If you bought this grill and couldn't make heads or tails of the directions, this is the video you need!

Nice Video. I did this exact assembly. I actually enjoy assembling these kind of things. It took me about 2 hours. I followed the instruction manual which were excellent, mostly pictures, not too many words.

Words can’t even describe how thankful I am for this video. Your directions are impeccable, I literally followed along and paused as I went to do the steps as you did them. You basically saved Christmas. No joke, after I unboxed everything and looked at the horrifically terrible manual, the only thing that kept me going was the fact that I knew there was no way I was going to be able to fit all of this stuff back in the box to return it lol. You rock man, After 1 hour and 45 minutes, I feel like a rockstar and am proud of myself for putting that thing together. Merry Christmas!!!

My first BBQ assembly. Didn't want to wait for the free assembly which would be a week wait.
Thanks. I am actually pretty mechanically inclined but I thought the instruction were wanting. There were just diagrams and no how to written communication. You saved me on how to get the wire clip connected. I was looking for another hole not knowing the one part went over the fitting. And I too missed the 4 additional screws for the side shelves. My guess is,
it is the instructions and not our collective memories. GREAT JOB! Thanks a bunch.

Thank you for uploading this video - very helpful indeed. I did not find the manual very helpful except it provided an accurate parts listing. Your explanation for the labels on the back of the package containing the screws, bolts etc.. was very nice touch. Your video made the setup very easy and very fast. The model number for my grill is 46334718 but the setup is the same. Picked it up from Lowes at the start of their 4th of July event.

Very helpful, good instructions, my model required an 11 mm wrench.
I did not have any parts left at the end of the assembly so all seems to be well.
For a pair of old eyes your video sure beats looking at the written instructions..

Great video! Like many others have said, the instructions should have people watch this before assembling the grill! Always better to see it done before doing it yourself. I'm off to try and do as good of a job as you did and get the grill going for dinner!

Thanks for taking the time to do the video. I was lost otherwise like the other comment the assembly instructions are more or less useless. I am female and never in my wildest dreams did I think this grill would ever go together. One thing I did wrong was the orientation the main hood. Had everything assembled in 4 hours and realized the drip pan would not go in. Left the shelves on and took the four screws out flip it and was back in business. Good job on the video... LR

That clip is probably why most who are mechanically inclined and put this thing together by the manual have to watch this video. This guy is aces in the hole when explaining this.

Great video, everything explained very clearly. Shoulda watched this instead of reading the instructions. I was a bit mystified by the side burner connection to the burner control, especially how to install the clip, but the video clarified it for me. Nicely done. Thanks

You make this look like a piece of cake! I just spent over 2 hours trying to put the 5 burner stainless model together and gave up. Your video makes a lot more sense than the horrid directions. They give part numbers but nothing is labeled except the blister pack of screws. It is basically written in hieroglyphics with nothing but pictures that don't necessarily make much sense. Thanks for the video. I might actually be able to grill on the 4th of July after all.

Thank you for this video!! I have the 3-gas model and there were little plastic tubes wrapping the burner tube which I assumed had to help engage the burner tube and burner control. For the life of me I couldn't figure out how to make them fit, your video at 14:58 shows me that I don't know the tubes and they kind of like just connect with no engagement with each other. Thanks!!!
