Lately I've felt like I've been moving on autopilot and I've been trying to slow down more and take the time to enjoy things - so what you said in this vlog about the things you noticed you don't do bc they take too much time resonated with me so much! thank you so much 🌷💛 I so agree, it does feel like I'm on autopilot. I know that a lot of people say it's silly to "romanticize" everything, but it really helps to slow down and enjoy every little aspect of life.
I really appreciate your openness and honesty about grief. Having lost people close to me in my life, I also have always had the feeling that grief never goes away and disagree with people who say it does. I have to have a really close relationship with someone to discuss grief besides saying "I'm sorry" because I just never know what to say and everyone deals with grief differently, so I'd never want to offend anyone. I just love this community so much because I feel like I can talk about anything with you guys.

Kitty humidifier and heating pad, pets snoring, fresh long nails, coffee, coffee, coffee, 2 1/2 hr vlog, books, sweet pup and tortoise, “off grid vibes”, Awesome!!! Must say…. making coffee the slow way…. I wash my dishes by hand… sounds crazy but so relaxing … bubbles, hot water, slow movements while drying. Give yourself the grace you would give others…. Especially when grieving in your time

Grief can be so isolating, even when you're surrounded by supportive, loving people. And for social media, it absolutely makes a difference - summer of 2020 I deleted Facebook from my phone because the controversies about returning to in person schooling were giving me major stress. And ever since I haven't really cared about FB at all 😊 Team Slow Mornings!!!!

I'm not through my first year yet when it comes to grief, but weirdly, the one thought that's helped is realising I'll never not be grieving. I kept thinking that I needed to 'get over it' but that made me feel like I was almost betraying the person I'm grieving for. Realising that my grief will always be with me, but that it will change over time, just seemed to take some of the weight off. Not sure if any of that made sense 🤷♀️💜

I am going to be honest and say that I have not seen every single one of your vlogs, but since you like movies: if you can still catch The Fall Guy (and haven't seen it already) I truly recommend that one. It is like the perfect bland of humor, action and romance. I am low key obsessed with it and while I am normally not a cinema person anymore I went and saw that one twice on the big screen. It's really fun.

Thanks for sharing your review of the new Strangers! The first one scared the heck out of me. I remember seeing it by myself in the afternoon in theaters, and it did not matter at all that it was daylight outside when it ended. I was terrified, lol. I thought the new one looked good in the trailer, but you saved me the time! I am typically not afraid of the more supernatural horror because it couldn't happen to me. The first movie, when Liv Tyler asked why they were doing this to them and the woman said, "Because you were home"? ACTUAL CHILLS.

Just got my first box of Liquid IV to try (lemon lime). We are now selling them here in Canada at Walmart and Save On Foods grocery stores at least, plus Costco. But only certain flavors. I want to really try Concord Grape, White Peach, and Pear). I'm going to be in Seattle, Washington, in September. So, plan on hitting Target with my list. Which includes them❤

I would recommend the Wild Robot by Peter Brown. its a younger kids read but sooo good about this robot named Roz who learns how to survive on an island and winds up befriending and helping the native wild life survive.Theres a movie coming out soon based on the book and im really excited and its a perfect survival read for summer!

I also don't play horror games, but I don't mind watching someone else play them. One of my fondest childhood memories actually involves Resident Evil. I can't remember which one in the series. My brothers and their friend went out and hired the game. They played it during the evening and night, then continued the next day, and I watched them play it. At times it was stressful, gee wiz, but it was entertaining and fun.
That game scared me!

No because when I set my instagram limit to 15 minutes a day it was great because I could still do a quick drive by of my friends or send a message but it wasn’t enough to doom scroll. Anyways the biggest change was that I realized how much crap I wouldn’t even care or stress about if it wasn’t for social media. For me it was parenting especially but it applies to everything. Like I wouldn’t care or even know if moms were out here making snackle boxes or if my fridge all had acrylic containers. Those would just not exist in my universe when I stopped scrolling and suddenly I only cared about things that mattered to me for real reasons
It is such a good amount of time because it doesn’t give you time to get into that comparison game while scrolling! I don’t find myself doom scrolling on RUclips like I will on IG, which is kinda interesting.
For gardening my brother uses coco coir instead of dirt

I can relate to your "blinding forehead" because my cousins call me 5 head 🙄 oh well. I only use Instagram to follow people. Kind of creepy but it's what I do 😆 I don't have people follow me back, I always delete them. No social interaction here. But I understand why socials get too much. I mostly use it to stalk my favorite brands, people and what not. Oh and I don't have the sound on unless I want to hear what they have to say. Also creepy 😅 I love Bones. Seeing Booth and Bones on your TV has me wanting to binge ALL the seasons 🥰
TikTok is so bad for me I would spend hours after work and just feel bad that I wasn’t doing as much as everyone else or at least it felt that way. I have no will power so my account is now a “teen” account that my husband has control over. I only get an hour and a half a day 😂 but it works and I have so much time to actually do the stuff that others online were doing!!

🎥Movie reactors I watch consistently are Ashleigh Burton, Rob Squad Movie Reactions, Nikki and Steven React, and Scene'crly KSO. I admire all the work you put into your channel, particularly the editing part. I do eight a week, all lives because I don't want to look at myself (would be inviting being hypercritical and who wants that, not me) and it takes away from reading time. Do a live, get on with my day is my motto (which doesn't fit on a Tshirt without looking weird and people staring at one's chest). Time suck-wise, when I watch BookTubers or binging (currently Blue Bloods, 14 seasons oh yeah), I'm crocheting so I can actually say I'm being productive. I just started last year so I'm not that great but I'm learning. Currently working on a wedding afghan (wedding in October). As a gift, it keeps me from having squirrel moments and dropping that puppy like a hot potato (mixed metaphor and no puppies were dropped nor squirrels injured in any way )

Under the Dome was hella traumatic. I'd rather recommend The Mist or Needful Things. The Mist is a quick short read and Needful Things was a really interesting concept.
Why was it traumatic? I've heard good things about it and the show! The only one I've read by him was IT and half of the stand, so I'm definitely wanting to read both his older and newer works.
@@oliviareadsalatte there’s some pretty graphic scenes in it. Specifically against women. I loved the show and the book wasn’t necessarily bad but the horrible scenes are seared into my brain. I’d just read the trigger warnings before you jump into it. To me it was long AF and I didn’t get much out of it but horrible flashbacks.
I thought I was the only one that didn’t like romance in audiobooks 😂❤

thanks for being my poolside podcast today🫶🏼 I heard you talk about the importing footage/timestamp thing & I use multiple SD cards (+iPhone clips sometimes) for my videos. Whenever I import into Final Cut Pro, they 99.9% of the time sort themselves into the right date even if the footage all in one folder doesn’t always line up in the right time order. Keep renaming if you enjoy it🙈
hahahah, I simply do ✨not✨ enjoy renaming them, but I do like it whenever it comes to having them super organized on my external hard drive. When I try to import directly on final cut, it always throws them in willy nilly, I have a theory it hates me 🤔
