For me, best game ever made! Story, music, graphic, and all others, this game is beautiful in 1999, and its still in 2020, bring some good childhood memories!:)
The little details you learn when you're in Chronopolis, what the dragons tell you when doin their quests and now the last bits of what the D.God tells you, were you doing the right thing? Sure all in regards of fixing the timelines but these guys were trying to survive. As you drain the D.god's health, you get see the backgrounds of dragon's places. It's just these small things that really make the end of the battle question it all.
This was my favorite game all throughout my childhood and I am still very nostalgic about it. This game is definitely in my top ten of all time. Games like this is why I like to read.
:I I always felt guilty fighting this boss because of the things he said before the battle got me thinking...and also Harlie Quinn was apart of the boss so I felt bad. Lol
@@jonasjra Harle was basically a dragon secret agent, meant to tail Lynx (FATE) until she could seize the Frozen Flame, which the Dragons would then use to destroy FATE and humanity. After you defeat FATE, she steals the Flame and fuses with the Dragon God.

What makes it really tough is requiring Lady Riddel to be in your party and she doesn't last very long in a fight. That, and he usually always casts the opposite of whatever color element you use. Attacking him with white elements will be a death sentence for you with his conduct-a-rod attack.
@aspiringvoiceactor645 this may be a comment from last year but if you steal the black plate from the dark dragon thst attack heals you. Put it on lynx and fight becomes easier using white elements.
You description is off yes you technically don't have to fight Lavos to beat the game, but the game isn't fully beaten until you do so. So Lavos is the final boss. If the world is still at peril then all bosses have not been defeated lol
Yea but not everyone beats him the right way. As a kid, I had no clue how to get the good ending. I even had the guide, but it didnt say in the prima guide
If you do what you're supposed to do then Lavos is not the final boss - rather the final task that you need to complete. They gave us this epic soundtrack the music because this was THE battle of the game.

I replayed the game again. First time trying, he opened the vortex, and my whole team took 1300+ damage from the fall, never happened again after. This happen to anyone else? Can someone please explain that?
Did you have a status effect on your party members? I think one in particular kills you instantly if you go through the vortex with it. It's happened to me before, but only on one character, not the whole team.

A lot of people’s issue with it is simply because of the name Chrono. They thought Chrono Trigger was this godsend of a game and Chrono Cross changed the formula too much and instead of banking on the success of the assets from trigger they made things mostly completely new which upset people, because it feels closer to a standalone title than a sequel. Also people just love to find shit to complain about

Without Horii or Toriyama, the game turned into a sloppy, meandering rant about environmentalism and nihilism. Where Trigger had economy in its storytelling and a tight, lovable cast, Cross had forgettable monstrosities for characters and decided to ditch the wonderful time travel mechanic for the tired “million version of the future” trope. Cross has more in common, both conceptually and stylistically, with Xenogears than it does Trigger.
