Finn Make a video on Clevelands Music Scene and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?
I saw a tik tok where this chick just found Motionless in White and called them a new up and coming band and called for her followers to "help blow them up" the funny part was Chris Motionless commented saying " thank you for supporting and helping us small and upcoming artists" 🤣🤣
😅
@@DragonTigerBoss Not gonna lie I just discovered architects about 6 months ago and I thought they were a new band also but I'm smart enough to do my research before I go making claims like that lol especially if I was a Dj. And speaking of new young and up-and-coming bands have you heard of Slipknot?
Bro I got to see MIW live and caught there pick 🤠
@@jrayne93 yall heard of iron maiden? I think theyre gonna blow up some day
@@glenndanzigsmanycats2045 no I don't think I have bro are they any good?
To quote Eric from Horse the band:
"I don't want this to sound bad cause I don't feel any bad feelings towards you but honestly, you guys are the worst audience ever."
Brendan from Counterparts always has that "honest" live show vibe for me, I love them from the bottom of my heart:
"Yo we are Counterparts, if you wanna have fun and dance let's go, if not that's cool I'm gonna get paid anyway"
His Twitter is a goldmine for shitposting.
Ive been watching for years and your story about telling your coworkers you wanted to go home to sit down and pee made me laugh harder than I ever have at one of your videos
💀😂
For me it was shitting while standing
The pooping standing up tho was way funnier 😂
"If you want to poop standing up........... do it" -Finn Mckenty (2022)
Finn is the professional troll and I love that for him
so true
"This is the voice inside your head that is telling you things that you know to be true."
Get into voice acting NOW.
My favorite part was the Tik Tok calling out celebrities that had an Emo phase, for the part where they point out Jared Leto lol Like, 30 Seconds to Mars who?? 😆😂
I really didn't expect toilet related life lessons. Thank you Finn. I'm gonna go pee while planking.
Sitting down to pee is rookie-level. Pulling your pants and underwear all the way down to your ankles while standing to pee is pro-level.
God-tier if in a public restroom.
At the trough during a sporting event is the one true God level.
..... but Jared Leto was IN an emo-esque band in the mid 2000's.
Hard haha
Yo. Turning that into a La Dispute song was HISTARICAL lol!
I'm gonna write a Midwest Emo song about your rant about it, Finn. I'm not gaslighting you, this is what you wanted.
The thing I miss about vinyl/CD is picking the album too fit the occation, looking on the cover, maybe reading the lyrics. It maked listening to music almost semi-ritualistic. You cant get that with straming.
One other thing, I _learned_ to like music and let it grow on me, forcing med to listen to it because I spent money purchase physical format. Some of my favorite albums I did not relly understand in the beginning, but it grew on me over time that way.
That's why I still but physical media.
I'm a straight married dude, 29. I sit to piss every single time. And I take my time.
Trying to say vinyl "sounds better," specifically the sound, is such an idiotic argument.
I'll make a confession. I take long poops to watch RUclips and just take my mind off things. Then when people notice I just say "stomach problems".
Inspired by this video I'm starting a pop punk band called *The Upper Deckers* and our shirts will say "Defend Poop Punk" with a plunger instead of the machine gun on the "Defend Pop Punk" shirts. Or, maybe a grindcore/slam metal band called Diarrhea Depth Charge.
I think more bands need to make the occasional joke song, and I think it's part of Blinks success, like they covered everything from serious topics like parents divorcing all the way to grandpa shitting himself because he gorged himself at the labor day cookout. Being too serious all the time gets so old. I think that is why Eskimo Callboy has had such success with their latest 3 videos, the genre just hasn't had that kind of fun in awhile, on top of the fact that the videos to those songs are really well done.
I think Protest the Hero has done some variety kinda stuff in that way, like the video for Clarity or their song Mist about how much they just like playing shows in Newfoundland, but then have a song like Tidal about capitalistic society’s approach to working until death.
Finn sounds like a Rick and Morty bit and I'm here for it
“What’s Warped Tour” ouch. I’m just going to crawl in a casket now.
"Son, we live in a world that has stages, and those stages have to be stood on by men with 8-strings. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at the merch table, you want me on that stage! You need me on that stage!"
I like Midwest emo/math rock and I always thought it would be cool to know someone you also likes it, granted I'm not going around asking "DO YOU LIKE MIDWEST EMO?!" but when you look beyond the music of Midwest emo and look at the 'community' online, I don't think I want to meet someone who likes Midwest emo anymore haha
Lmfao oh my god. Why did I find this soo funny? I actually don’t even know why
@@paulthe2mikolajdupontsrens586 That you should be a who, my bad. This made you laugh, haha awesome! Cheers.
@@jrp5787 yeah lol. I think what made me laugh. Was that I read it in an deadpool voice. Like have you seen this man? This man name Francis? Lol 😂
I've seen a few gals take a leak standing & in my experience- results may vary. I think it comes down to urethra control. Some gotta really maneuver their box to get a clear pathway & even then getting a perfect stream going seems to be pretty difficult. I'm guessing a buncha ladies that have tried, wound up pissin' all over some seats.
But to those that figured it out~ Kudos!
"maybe I shouldn't fetishize about big pieces of plastic that shouldn't exist" 🤣😂😅😆😁
All music is better with a layer of white noise and intermittent popping. Also, the local band that stays with me the most had a song about going to the beach, getting attacked by a sea monster, and then realizing the sea monster is actually a giant erect penis.
I've heard "D'Jenting in a coloured room" so many times now that I'm wondering if you'll make some merch about it. I'd buy the T-Shirt!
geez finn this is probably your funniest video i've seen to date. keep'em coming brah
Finn almost every emo band on band camp sounds like this
When you were talking around 4 minutes in it kind of reminded me of something Kenny Aronoff said in a clinic I went to, “I’ll never be as great as I want to be so I’ll work to be as great as I can be” or something like that
So what we need is a song about Wafflestomping, big.
Burst out laughing at the metalcore bands drowning in a bathtub bit.
These fucking rants always make me crack the fuck up!! Keep em coming finn!! Finally an emo song that tackles an important topic🤣🤣💀
This is the best video Finn has ever made. Life advice and pooping in the shower for life!
Finn you had me at pooping standing up
Hey Finn once again i really enjoyed this video and i wanna tell u that i think youre one of the coolest, most honest youtube hosts there could be. Every time i watch a video of yours, whether its an interview, you streaming live, you talking about a band's history- i notice that i learn some wisdom from you or that you always open up about a personal topic or give your personal opinion or advice out and it really does help people like me and resonate with me and im so impressed with it. You may not realize how much youre really inspiring me when you simply talk about your experiences and give little bits and pieces of your knowledge out- for instance- what you said today in your video about self-doubt was really honest and im sure a lot of people , not only me, could relate to that and you probably helped a lot of aspiring artists to never give up even if they doubt themselves. I know i doubt myself as a writer all the time but nothing would make me stop writing; i need to do it for my sanity and if it ends up connecting with other people and if i end up being successful then ive done a good job and gotten really lucky- and i wont let my fear of failure stop me- if anything- it just makes me work harder. And im sure every great artist doubted themself- but thats what made their work so great bc they worked even harder at their craft. What a wonderful point to make and topic to think about for anyone trying to make a name for themselves. All you have to do is be you, Finn- you seem to have a great attitude about life and give hope to your fans, like me! Never stop being real ! You always have a great point to make and a drop of wisdom to share! Thanks so much! I love u and your channel and as i always say keep it up and keep rockin! Xoxox😘❤✌️💕
I appreciate that very much! Thank you for the support!
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA youre welcome! It's the truth- ive been watchin videos on youtube about music for a while, and your channel is drfinitely at the top for its quality and uniqueness- and for you being one of the best hosts ever!
I saw some kids talking about Falling in Reverse as a band that "did those Tik Tok songs". I couldn't imagine getting angry over stuff like that, like to me it's pretty damn cool that older artists like them, BMTH, ATL etc are getting popular with new generations through new mediums.
This is coming from a guy that stopped listening to rock and switched to rap for almost a decade (I came back because most pop music is boring as hell right now). You know rock fans are out of touch when they still don’t get that their favorite genre hasn’t been popular for at least 8 years and is just now starting to make a comeback. This is why genres need to limit the amount of subgenres they have. It creates way too many bubbles that fans have a hard time of leaving along with a delusional sense of elitism that prevents innovation.
@@luke_cohen1 But here me out, Who cares if what you like is popular? Like as long as the artitst i like keep producing music idgaf if its popular. never mattered never will
I sometimes pee sitting down and no one can stop me
You will see the value of vinyl when we enter the Fallout apocalyptic era.
I kept hearing "Indian emo scene" and now I need this to exist
Indian Sunmer is a 90s emo band. Closer to the heavier side of the genre but still. They're not from India either but this comment made me think of them.
I've heard of them, but yeah I was more thinking like Hindi emo music lol
@@requioussiege5335 Ah ok. IIRC there's a math rock band from India called Stuck in November. I've only heard one song from them but I love it.
i am sure they exist
4:34 the funniest part is why is he in a tux?? Lmao 😆
I'm gonna start doing that brutal honesty thing on stage.. I think it'll be a hit lol
4:55 is an intro to a pop punk song
sometimes-serialist, party harding
Too late, Jane's Addiction already wrote a song about pissing in the shower.
Honestly I've seen clips from shows where the lead singer said something like "were fucking tired, we are on show 5 in 4 days so we want to give you the best night ever so let's do our best"
Fuck, this second channel of yours is the best man. Only recently found you on here, and been binging, and your commentary that doesn't hold back has me laughing hard. And it's scary to realise who I really was 15-20 years ago. I thought I was cool af but now I know 😆
Thank you!
This is why everyone's gonna think I'm at outbreak 2022 for mad ball and knocked loose but I'm really there for touche amore
I love whoever said America Eagle core.
I used to wear Hollister polos with skinny jeans and Nike 6.0.
Preppy-scene crossover was so a look.
The guy yelling about sitting down to pee while emo tunes play sounds like being as an ocean
I sit on the toilet backwards when I poop so I have a shelf for my comic book and my chocolate milk.
This is s tier content right here. I think you're a lot funnier than you might think. 👌
Thank you!
I appreciate you Finn for being honest about self doubt. I feel the same way about my band and other things in life and wondered if it was just me thinking too much. I felt some relief when you said you have self doubt about your videos not being good but I think all of your videos are awesome. Maybe others will feel the same about my content some day, Thanks man.
The sitting down to pee bit had me lollin' so hard xD
OMG I laughed pretty hard when they turned that dude's video into a La Dispute song! XD
You’re right, I’ll buy my favorite albums on cassette instead
I still remember a dude from high school who used to talk all kinds of shit about how good he and his band was. And blah blah blah real music, Beatles this, Beatles that. Even once bragged to me that his band was going to win a local battle of the bands because they were so good they could "play their whole set in the dark". And then proceeded to get absolutely blown out of the water by a group of guys who covered the Dream Theater song "Metropolis - Part 1" (this was back in the mid-90s when Dream Theater was a super niche band no one had heard of). So those prog solos/riffs just blew peoples minds, it was hilarious. Didn't hurt that every member of their band was individually talented and got to solo.
Someone in the chat mentioned The Emo Game from the 2000s. You should probably do an entire episode on that.
As a cd collector. Ouch the truth freaking hurts!
This is Drake ( a child groomer) and Travis ( can’t stop a concert because people are dying ,3 times) Scott the top of the list 😅
the all time low tiktok joke sums up my whole high school experience. I am not afraid to admit that i would annoyed when people would say don't recognize a song or band until I remind that it was on a tiktok or meme or whatever.
2:34 lemmy did say the shades and tilted back mic stand began so he could pretend Motorhead were playing to a larger audience than the bar staff back in the early days.
the first trap remix is def a classic drill beat mashup if you wanna check out more
Tom Delonge from Blink-182 would talk about how bad he was at guitar and how much the band sucked WHILE they were selling millions of copies of “Enema of the State”. On one of their DVDs there’s a recording at a show where they’re about play “What’s My Age Again?” and Tom says the song is really hard to play, screws up, and after the songs says, “I fucked up!” That’s one of the reasons I like Blink so much. They were never up their own butts.
The whole vinyl thing killed me hahaha fantastic as always. Tiktok is life, Tiktok is love.

Your second channel has the hottest takes dude ⭐️
Can u do an update on hyperpop? ect(Semetery, nosgov, glaive, blade,Turnabout ect)
This video was a hidden gem
I admit, I do like the tactile experience of being able to hold an album in my hand, and knowing that it's mine.
best video outro i've ever seen 🤣
Thanks Finn, for making me realize my vinyl collection is lame 😔
I agree, sometimes aiming is more trouble than it’s worth.
I have NEVER bought a song in my life and have over 1,000 songs on my phone 😂
Can you do a montage of all of your Voice Of Reason segments
I went on a date with a guy once back in 2012… “Tom”. He told me to name 5 Metallica song’s because I was wearing a shirt. I rattled off like 7 or 8 songs and he proceeded to say “all but two of those songs are from “The Black Album” and was judging that as negative, like I wasn’t a REAL fan.
I think about him from time to time. I wonder if he found love with a TRUE Metallica fan.
Sitting is one of my favorite things. I always sit to pee. Why tf would i stand if i can sit
5:57 is true, I have seen it.
Also, me man, me sometimes pee sat down but it rare. Normally when doing it I'm ill or very drunk. X
THANK YOU FOR TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT FREAKING VINYL!!!!!
Vinyl sales really help out death metal bands so by all means everyone keep buying those from us cuz it pays us really well.
Jesus fuck, Finn... I love your shit so much. When I have a rough day, I can always count on you to help me turn it around.
“I’ve read The Secret… I haven’t really… but I feel like I understand it.” Sounds like something my mom would’ve said in 2009 😂
btw i love these kinda vids, hope to see more
The self doubt is the reason you have perfected your craft to the point of having a subscriber like me , who came for cringe videos and stayed for wider content about metal music , music insights and alt aesthetics
I love Waterparks. I played their newest album on repeat all of last summer. I even bought the CD for my car. I am a married mother of 1. Probably not their usual fan then based on Awsten's TikTok. 😅
If that's how low your bar is for local bands you need to check out the pop punk guys in DC. Soul meets body passes that test. No songs about pooping tho.
Why sit down to pee if you just have to stand up to get the last bit out anyway?
Finn was lit on this one.
Must have had that second glass of pinot grig.
I usually pee laying down, essentially planking on my toilet. And the same goes for pooping
I crap standing up. I need a t-shirt that says that. Also, vinyl is hazardous to your health, true story
In middle school, i wore an ac/dc shirt. I had just got one of their albums, and really liked it. A kid in band class came up and said "you like ac/dc? Do you like angus young?" and i was like idk who that is. And he laughed at me. Like, dude i like their music. I'm not obsessed and need to know everything about them. Their names are unrelated to their music 🤣
Btw when you mash a turd down the drain it's called waffle stomping
Vinyl doesn't sound any better than streaming but I like collecting things so I just keep a small collection of my fave records on vinyl just for the hell of it. Is it a waste of money? Probably but I get a kick out of it
I always sit down to per unless I'm in a public restroom. 1. It's more comfortable. 2. I don't splash piss everywhere at my house and make my toilet disgusting. If you've never realized, pissing into a toilet bowl/urinal splashes piss all over the fucking place and it's gross. I don't want that in my home.
Same
Okay, im ready to admit a lot of why I collect vintage vinyls is nostalgia.
Backstory- my Dad is an antique dealer and gave me my first stack of records in 2005 when I was like seven. Being an outcast who had HFA- I was obsessed with the tactile nature of vinyl, and spent hours of time reading the backs of of the sleeves, and looking at the art. 💯
Yes I’m ready to admit it sounds, “worse…” and I don’t even care. 🙃💯😂
I agree with the self doubt. I am always striving for self acceptance. Not a linear process
7:21 did At the Drive In release a new track?
Gotta love Cringe and loving your Twitch channel Finn \m/
Physical media helps fund bands but okay
Finn I needed this when I wanted to stop myself from buying an "exclusive" vinyl of Bad Religion Stranger than Fiction from Newbury Comics a few days ago
Spoiler: I bought it...I regret it is what id like to say
Does anyone have that video of the Midwest emo thingy with the young Alain Johannes ranting about sitting down to pee?
no no NO NOOOOOO!!! I need to buy Steve Tucker era Morbid angel CDs directly from England.
The genre in the first video is brooklyn drill (type of beat) check out pop smoke, Fivio Foreign
