    I have different thoughts about the GoPro Quik app. I think it is difficult to use and out of date. GoPro has a classic form factor and pretty nice hardware, but everything about it just gets so old.
    When it comes to 360 shooting, I surely prefer Insta630 products. I agree the 1-Inch 360 is a lot bit more expensive compared to a normal Insta360 action camera, like X3 or RS Twin, but it works very well for someone like me, who also needs it for job purposes, shooting premium virtual tour content. Meanwhile, don't you think the app is the essence? The re-framing function in the app is just a genius way of quickly editing the 360 footage. I totally love it!
    Anyway, thanks for your video, it provides an opportunity for us to share different opinions!

    Zimbabwe is pretty hot too and I haven't had the over heating problem. I've had no problems with the focus at close rang. FYI, you can use it without linking it to a phone. At that price point it still is the best 360 camera on the market.

      I don't even use it, I use my old GoPro Max. Easier to use and I like the colours and softer image better. You can't see the histogram without the phone. Yeah it has a 1 inch sensor, but it makes little difference. One of the worst camera equipment purchases I made.

    I think this camera is incredible, my only issue is that I use it too much now; some of my videos have lost their balance ... but of course that's on me and not my camera. It's an investment to be certain, all modern toys like this are, and yet next year there will be new and improved models of 360 (and everything else), but just take a moment and think about the technology inside of that little device, it blows my mind and the footage is consistently compelling and awesome! We take tech like this for granted, don't you think? All of us creators out there would do well to remember we are standing on the coat tails of geniuses.

      @@waynosfotoscameras this is indeed my first 360, and I already have a laundry list of things I wish it could do better, but I need to be careful what I wish for because they will come true, quite soon, in the form of a model I won't be able to afford. My budget for purchasing 360 cameras is probably going to be one per decade, so I have decided to fall in love with this one, head over heels, now that I am past the point of no return. I can hardly wonder what consumer electronics will be like in 2033?!

      Don’t get me wrong, the tech is awesome and you can get some very specialised shots. I like to use a long selfie stick (like 3 metres) Brandon li on YT has some good tutorials on it. If you like I can do some vids like this? But comparing this to my old camera I don’t think there is a lot of benefits for this model.

      Look it works, but my beef with this camera 📷 is it is not a step up from the lower price cameras in any usable way. It does have a little better low light performance but under performs in other functions. For the price bump over other 360 cameras i don't believe it to be a good buy.

    A big drawback, for me and anyone who needs to record long uninterrupted videos, is that the camera (actually, all Insta360 consumer 360 cameras) creates a 15 seconds gap in your footage once every 30min. As for the app... sorry but I think the Insta360 app is miles ahead of GoPro... don't even get me started on the Windows PC software: the GoPro is absolute rubish!

Focal length is .5m so no surprise it doesn’t do close focus. You know you can dial the sharpness down aye beforehand? All good. Good to hear someone else’s experience.

      Sharpness and saturating on minimum. It also turns itself on in storage and when you come to use it, it is flat. You may like it but i do feel it is a dog of a camera. Yeah it works but at best, marginally better, if at all than my GoPro MAX. Not worth the price.

    • @davidfirth1
      @davidfirth1 Год назад +1

      Actually, the 1" sensor Insta360 cams (both the now-discontinued single lens and the 1" 360) have minimum focus distance around 0.9m. The stitching minimum is around 0.5m. The 1" is one that the shooter has to be quite aware of the distance. It isn't one to dive in close. Shoot from beyond 1m and reframe in post is the way to work with this camera.

  • @ArcticExploring
    @ArcticExploring Год назад +1

    Put exposure at Auto is best solution.
    Or just calculate shutterspeed from photography rule "Sunny-16" - That will give you a shutterspeed of 1/3200s to get right exposure in a sunny day.

  • @davidfirth1
    @davidfirth1 Год назад

    Action cameras, which the 1" 360 has a strong family relation, are fixed focus and fixed aperture. The 1" 360 has a pretty long focus distance of around 0.9m (about 35 inches) as a function of lens and sensor size. This is similar to the non-360 1" lens that was sold for the One R. The regular 360 lens and 4K module are more like 0.5m (19 in). The GoPro Max has a comparable focus distance to the Insta 360 (non-1") lens. So, just keep that in mind. Agree on histogram, but it is more a problem that the 360 sees the sky all the time. You can't use the histogram, in practice, like for a traditional FPV lens. The Insta360 app is very powerful, and I find it is best used on a larger screen like an iPad. The 1" sensor has more dynamic range, in practice. You have some good points and some points that might be less of an issue if you modify your approach to meet the hardware and app where they are (which is a place that is not where traditional cameras are; I have had to do so also).

    • @waynosfotoscameras
      @waynosfotoscameras  Год назад

      Listen David, I have no issues with 360 cameras and like them. I bought this camera to upgrade from my GoPro MAX, believing it to be better, I just can't recommend this camera, i am using it right now and it shut off uploading the footage, it switches itself on when stored, so i need to disconnect the top part so it doesn't turn on and go dead flat, (which by the way you can't connect it or download with it till it has some charge). I will admit i could learn the app a bit more but it is no where as easy to use as the GoPro app. The camera has significant problems. Even on "log" and "low" sharpness (still to sharp) it is still to saturated and calling it log. It is is really a joke. The GoPro MAX, sure has less dynamic range, but it is easier to use, grades better, uploads footage seamlessly, doesn't overheat and the video in good light looks more pleasing to me, even though it is a pretty old camera design.
      The GoPro from my real world use focuses closer. That is my experience. I call it as i see it. You may have a different experience to me but i am pretty disappointed with it and in general is a pretty unreliable camera.
