Tom, same here. Favorite band of all time. There’s a show they did where Mike was singing this, microphone held in his teeth whilst climbing up a crane. Security was extremely nervous! Must say, though, Sol Invictus is phenomenal.
@@TIGERMAN85 I totally agree! What is amazing about them is how eclectic and musically talented they are. Imagine my excitement securing tickets for them in 2020…… I didn’t want a refund!
@@TIGERMAN85 Yes. I’ve seen them many times. I’ve traveled to see them! I’d go by myself if no one could go with me! 2020, pandemic hit. So their NYC gig canceled. I’m still totally digging Sol Invictus. May have to travel to see them again !
They often do this song at the end of concerts and it gives time for Mike to play around with the crowd and/or band…. Usually with doing the last line with a very over the top classically styled belt. One of the more humorous/impressive times was he sat while the band waiting playing toward the end of the song before the final couple lines where he swallowed down the shoelace out of the shoe someone threw on stage, gagging as it went down, having to drink water with it… then with it down his throat stood up and belted out the end… then promptly cough/vomited it up lol.
Love the reaction. There's so many great FNM tracks. All of the band members are incredibly talented. Then when you decide to dig into the rest of Mike Patton's library of music (outside of FNM) you get a better glimpse of just how talented he is and the fact that he isn't confined to only a few genres. His work with Fantomas, Mr. Bungle, Peeping Tom, and Mondo Cane are all great examples of his range. If you want to hear a great single example of Mike's range, I suggest a solo track of his titled "Il Cupo Dolore".
Whoa! So I didn't realize you guys had your own music vibe rolling! When I subscribed, I dug into your page and WOW! Killer tunes! I'll be hanging here for sure!
Mike Patton is the most ridiculously talented, wild vocalist I can think of. Across multiple genres, there is nobody who makes as many outstanding songs in so many styles. Saw him w/Tomahawk on the MIT Gas tour...he does all his own sound & mixing eight there on stage...synths, different mics/filters...he was like a mad scientist onstage, tweaking knobs & pushing buttons & whatnot...all while never, EVER missing a single note or cue. I was in the balcony, with a bird's-eye view of it all...never forget that.
Love Mike Patton; he's extremely talented. Been lucky enough to see them in early 90ies. Loved every second of it; absolutely world class.. Great reaction, thanks! Some suggestions for you guys: *Zombie eaters *Land of sunshine *Epic *Midlife crisis ✌️
I love Mike Patton. I had a ticket to see Faith No More the first time after 30 years, but unfortunately it got cancelled. Anyway.. you should check out one of Mike Pattons singing compilations here on YT. He's probably the most versatile vocalist ever. Greetings from Germany
Same here. I’ve seen Faith No More (favorite band ever!) numerous times. So excited to have tickets to see them in my hometown of New York. Canceled. Everyone should check out all the vocals that he does. He has an octave range of over 6!
Yeah was pumped to hopefully see them here I Christchurch NZ for the first time since 2009 I think. Hope they get through everything all good and hopefully they'll head this way again soon. Peace
Mike Patton is crazy talented. He did a side project called Peeping Tom. Definitely worth checking out. My favorite song was Mojo. They did a live performance of it on the old Henry Rollins show. Hands down my favorite
He's done about fifty different side projects over the years. He's seriously one of the most underrated, productive and creative people in music. A lot of the biggest performers in the world look lazy compared to Patton lol
@@ct5625 not everyone can appreciate it but I loved the Mondo Cane project also. It really captures his humor and talent as a performer. Could spend an entire day listening to him and not hear the same song twice
I feel like that is a controversial opinion but I absolutely agree. There's lots of love for The Real Thing but that's honestly my least favorite FNM album with Patton singing.
@@bufordteejustice1119 Same. I think what I love about it most is I feel like that album is when they stopped trying to cram every genre into one song and rather jumped between genres from song to song. I feel like it gave the songs more cohesion while not sacrificing the variety that makes them great.
Adding my $.02: I'm with you on this, sacrilegious though it may be. I put it right up with Angel Dust, typically most FNM fans' favorite. Ricochet, JAM, Ugly in the Morning (really a Mr Bungle song), The Gentle Art..., etc. The variety of songs & styles is amazing, & whether you LIKE them all or not, they pull it off every time.
I’ve loved FNM since 1990. I recently reopened the Pandora’s box of Mikes “projects”. (Um, im currently having the John Zorn, Mike Patton experience. 😳(I’m not sure there’s an emotion to describe that project. Just like all his forever Fans from GenX, im excited Af, absolutely thrilled, initially confused…& maybe a bit afraid. 😆 but I’m ear to ear smiling the whole damn time. You never know wtf to expect w Mike. No matter what he does , it’s always amazing.
Nice, more faith no more please, that band will teach you more about music than anybody, just not live though maybe next time, hard to get good recordings🍻
?? OH. Chinese Arithmetic, right? Unless they actually covered GNR? CA is a great song though. And MP adds so much extra flavor & humor in his live performances.
Check something from Callejon. It's a german band. They make metal covers from popular songs like willst du from Aligatoah, or was du liebe nennst from bausa
Faith no More are a once in a lifetime band that's for sure. No one can match their mashup of styles and the sheer magnetism of Mike Patton's personality. I wish it weren't true. in the words of the Internets biggest douche-bag - prove me wrong
There are so many other better live recordings of the song I can't remember if it's Portugal or Brazil that has a girl's choir behind him it sounds way better
This is why Mike Patton is known as the man of a thousand voices
Favourite band all time. The band always generate big energy. I recommend any song from Angel Dust or King for a Day.

My favourite band and the best singer/frontmen ever!
Mike can sing literally EVERYTHING!
One of my favorite live performances ever.
Every time I hear this song live I hear the gospel choir in background! Love Patton, he’s the man! 🤘
FNM's Phoenix Festival performance in 1997 was so epic. I have the dvd and it is one of their best shows ever.
Mike Patton. One of the best vocalists of all time ladies and gentlemen.

Finally someone giving this epic fkin band the props they deserve!
There's no such music what Patton couldn't sing. Absolute King of singers.
I was at this festival in England. Great performance by the best band of the whole weekend..Patton is a legend. 👍
Wish they would play it live with a choir like on the album. The back and forth with Mike is transcendent.
They do on some gigs. I know the one in Brazil they had a choir. It was awesome.
i love Faith no More
Epic performance
Check the version of this played live in Brazil, in 2011. They had an actual children choir to perform with them!

And I think shows it off in another band called Mr. Bungle quite nicely.

I think their performances from 2015 were their best. Mike's vocals have gotten so good, and his screams are better than ever.
I was lucky enough to see them perform this very song in 2015 (at The Roundhouse in London) and completely endorse what you say
