Get a Fluke 773. It reads mA signals with a clamp. You could see if your sensor is in range (4-20mA) or not so that gives you a starting point if it’s the PLC or not. You can also simulate a current signal with it. A massive time saver. Love the Insight to your time onboard. 👍🏻
i know this is 2years old but holy hell man thats a causal $1.5k-2k for a meter. I guess its based on case by case but i just use my 87 to read 4ma-20ma signals. and if needed i have a plc tools simulator to shoot in some current. all for less than $1k and a lot more versatile
Great vod as always... I would like to suggest that if you could make a series of videos regarding reading electronical drawings on board ships... Could be like a dedicated playlist
Thanks to your great idea I've so much learned electrical trouble shooting techniques I love watching all of your videos despite there where some electrical trouble that I've been already encountered onboard and despite we have fixed the trouble Eve it takes long time and since we don't have electrician onboard. Thank you again and God bless to your channel and keep safe always bro.
hi it's so good to have you. my emergency generator is not sensing the MSB power after black out. it's not stopping the Emergency generator aftre recovery of the black out... which component could i have to check in order to rectify this problem. for the time being i am just switching of the EDG and switching on the MSB tie breaker manually on ESB.
Interesting that marine uses Green/White for Type K. We use Red/Yellow for oil and gas. Even Armored cable thermocouples are annoying with problems because the armor braid can stab through and cause a short. Always checking each lead (red or yellow) against ground. (We used ungrounded thermocouples) to see if they are shorted.
Sir ganda po Ng content nyo ,,Yung iba dina download kopa para mapanood kopa uli Sir tanong kopo Sana ano poba common reason bakit nag voltage drop kahit Wala Naman pong load na inilalagay sa generator Sana po mapansin sir
Thank you dear for all the efforts you are putting in . Can you suggest few good books with regard to container refrigeration or refrigeration in general but more related to marine field?
Jake, i am having trouble understanding the ACB operation. Can you put it on the list. NT Schnider 1600 amp for example,,,i know the spring closes the breaker,,,but what opens it? Is there another spring. Does the spring open it too.
When you adjusted the amplifier to give the same reading as the local instrument, that would just give one point on the graph. Really you need 2 points to give the same gradient, ideally at 4mA and 20mA.
I guess you are right but since that is the only spare available onboard then I need to move on in fault finding and that would be the last in my list.
Good day Sir Jake, tatanung lng sana kung may purohan po ba na maging elec ako sa barko...RME at vocational lng po natapos ko..But now sakay po ako ng mearsk line as a fitter since 2013..Salamat po sa sagot sa tanung..Stay safe.
While you adjust amplifier that time local panel temp also changed 25 to 30 and ams system? yes or not?if yes how you come to know that is the actual output of temp sensor?
You have the local reading on the local control panel. Most of the time the local reading is the accurate one as it did not pass to that amplifier hence the ams should much the local reading. I verifed that one using the digital multimeter
@@leckyjake how about po ung sa video mo sir. Ung nag S/F na T/C Exh Gas Out then ang LO Press? Direct mo lang nilipat ung maling connection(7-8) into amplifier without switching off anything?
Yup, 4-20 mA type sensor sila and to think about it, naka sensor fault na sila. You need to isolate the system if the sensor is placed in an unsafe area, let say winding temperature sensor.

after recovery, stopping should be done in manual operations.

Check fuel rail and governor. Monitor mo speed kung constant din.
Thank you dear for all the efforts you are putting in . Can you suggest few good books with regard to container refrigeration or refrigeration in general but more related to marine field?
The best book for reefer refrigeration is the manual of each maker. You can download them online, carrier, thermoking, daikin and starcool.

Every thing looks easy when you do it

I’d love to see more videos about diesel engine automation… 😅

I have had new sensors be bad right out of the box. I wouldn’t just assume it’s new it’s not the issue

Tanong ko lang po sir. Pagnagpalit ka sensor sa generator wala na kailangan patayin?
Depende lagi kung aling sensor ang papalitan
