I am genuinely sending you such love over the passing of your dad. My father passed a year ago, April 2023, and mom in December. So so sorry to hear Jane! I never stop missing mine that have been gone for years. I’m so thankful to have had the best parents a kid could ask for. It has truly helped me to face hardships in life. It gave me a good foundation and I feel blessed for being so loved by them. I hope God covers you in his peace and love throughout this time and know you’ll be in my thoughts and prayers !!

I am very sorry you lost your father. It does not matter how old he was. It matters that he is no longer with you. And you want him with you. Thinking he had a long life and that is enough, does not satisfy. That he here satisfies. You can never replace a father, and he is never with you long enough. May God bring you the comfort you need.
Hi Jonathon, thnx for this it confirms my situation. I wanna tell what it is but its painful and to long to write. A great guy i know for months daily at a public place is now a painful story i let him go for now. But the choosing part you mentioned. Is the part i needed to hear. His process is in fear atm. Love is also letting go. I will give time and space to this. When go daily to the same public place its hard for him to see me. He can't deal with it. Still im thankful for your information. I married a WW2 hero who was born n 1924. I was born in 1946. We were married 38 years. He died at age 99 on Jan. 3, 2024.. We live in France for 20 years. I am happy here but prefer to go home to speak English again. France isn't the same without him. However, your details about how screwed up Americans are doesn't give me any hope about any future there of any kind.

I get what you are saying about shared values and interests. I've been talking to a neighbor man in my apt. Building on an occasional basis. I think the more conversations we have, the more we realize that we are not going to be compatible. He smokes--i have asthma, he is a Trump supporter--i abhor Trump, he is 65, I am 75. @@JonathonAslay Yeah.. that's the thing with relationships, it's always random and risky.. he led me on for close to six months too. He was a dadd'ys boy from the start and wish I would have known that way earlier how that would be a big problem with the relationship lasting.
