I played this at a restaurant that had all you could eat chicken on the juke box, thirty times, you should have seen how quickly they got tired of chicken
the first time I heard this I was stuck in a traffic jam in Nashville; it came on the radio and I just started cracking up - then I looked around at the traffic and every driver was laughing hard!!! (This was at the time the favorite traffic report station) . I am so glad I found this! Now I can visualize the regulars on the early morning TV show (WSM Nashville ) lipsynching it. They did this regularly, usually with accessories relative to the season (elf hats, halloween outfits, etc) Trivia: I am almost certain John Tesh and Pat Sajak participated in these farces; both of them were still working at WSM at the time. Of course, what can you expect from a show that featured Annual Outhouse races, "Chalk-Off" contests (in which the show regulars competed to toss a stick of chalk in the air and try to catch it in the pocket of a blazer) and other running gags - all surrounded by real news and weather reports.
I don't recall a Ray Stevens song with that title. He did "In the Mood" with "Classical Cluck" as the B-side; later on he did "Thus Cacked Henrietta" on his 1985 album, 'I Have Returned'. So he's only done three recordings of actual chicken clucks. In 1991 he recorded "Teenage Mutant Kung Fu Chickens" and you can find the animated music video on RUclips and a live performance of the song in another RUclips video clip. That one is a verbal recording...it doesn't contain chicken clucks. The same holds true for a 1995 recording he did called "Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens", a duet with Connie Freeman, and the music video can be seen on RUclips. On his 2015 album, titled 'Here We Go Again!', he recorded a song called "Pickin' on the Chicken"...but that wasn't a chicken clucking performance, either, but he inserted chicken clucks at various moments in the song.
I don't know why Ray Stevens rerecords so many of his songs (as did the late Gene Autry) but they're just never as enjoyable. This "updated" version blows. Record it once. If it's a hit, leave it alone. The original version is so much more fun than this one. 😕 🇺🇸
I remember when this first hit the radio and my mom just dying with laughter!
This popped into my head, this morning, somewhat ramdomly.
2024 now
Popped into my head 😂
Ray Stevens puts on an excellent humorous spin with the great song In The Mood!

A perfect song during a traffic jam! That should curb road rage! It would for me!
Just heard this. Amazing can't stop laughing. Walking round doing chicken noise getting on my girlfriend nerves
This is amazing......incredible
Such an angelic voice... but now I'm hungry.
I remember having this on a 45 record and playing in our living room at home. Lol I was around 5 or 6 when this came out.
I love Glenn Miller's and Chicago's versions, and I love this one too.
My school in 3rd grade did this as a concert performance thing. I got to dance with my crush so it was cool :P
Cool! I’m jealous!
Such an important piece of art
I want this song played at my funeral and I want it catered by KFC so that way while this song is playing everybody's eating a piece of chicken
🌸love it!!!🌸
Used this to wake up our kids. Now I use it to wake op our grand kids.
Sounds like Foghorn Leghorn finally got lucky! 😁🐓🐔
LOL! Foghorn Leghorn and the Henhouse 7!
Pure talent. I bet Henrietta was there. 😁
On my childrens had that name
Heard this today on FIP, I had to look it up.
The Carol Burnett Players did an outstanding rendition of this in the late 70s!
Let's dance...no funky chicken!
Something told me to be afraid to click, but I just had to do anyway.
Suddenly, i feel like fried chicken. hmmm
I played it out the front door. I wonder what happened to it?
Was this the same time he did Ghost Chickens in the Sky? How many chicken songs has he done anyway?

Not the same version of 70s ... crescendo is missing.

I was wondering why their name was misspelled. On the original single, it was "too", not "two"
