I just discovered you. And I swear every book you have mentioned I have either read and loved or want to read. The moment you fell I sub'ed to you and I won't be surprised if you quickly become one of favorite booktubers. 🧡💛 Also you are giving me major Anne vibes and she is my favorite literary character. Edit to say, my grad dress (prom) was a custom made dress of the dress Rose wore in the Titanic, staircase scene. I still have it.
My Grandmother had that exact same copy of Pride and Prejudice and she actually gave it to me and my sister in 2010 when I was ten years old. It’s my favorite copy of it and I will cherish it forever!
@@aleksandrarahmanovic4229 I don't know if you watched the whole video or not, but I do talk about how I just recently acquired Anxious People and I'm super excited to read it soon :)
You would love The Mysterious Benedict Society! I never hear anybody talk about it but it was my absolute favorite series as a kid. It's a middle grade trilogy (there might be a fourth one now, actually) about four gifted children, all of whom have no real family for one reason or another. They're brought together by Mr. Benedict and he tasks them with solving a mystery. It's about found family, it's funny and just really sweet.
Ahh The Blue Castle!! So I work in publishing and in one of the imprints I work with, there's an editor who worked on the gorgeous edition of The Blue Castle that you held up (haven't read it yet but she specifically recommended it to me)! She also worked on all of the watercolor editions of the Anne of Green Gables series as well. This editor is a power house and so talented at what she does. I brought up these books to her and she mentioned that she had partially themed her wedding around Anne of Green Gables!! I always love hearing about the passion that goes into the BTS of my favorite books/editions.
Enjoyed your book haul! If you like old people I would like to recommend the book Out to Pasture by Effie Wilder. It’s so cute and sweet and your heart will fill with love for the elderly. It also includes cute artwork.
All of Mary Stewart's books are awesome. I was introduced to them in high school (1968-1970) on a friend's recommendation and started reading and collecting all of them which I still have. My favorites are 'This Rough Magic' (because there is a dolphin featured in at and a wonderful description of an old rose garden) and 'Airs Above the Ground' (because of the horses).
Anne of the Island is one of my favorites in the series! I also love the Anne of Green Gables & Anne's House of Dreams :) hope you enjoy the rest of the series!
There is something magical about Wuthering Heights, I love it 😊 This is my first video of yours so I don't know if you have read The Essex Serpent by Sarah Perry, but I have just started it and it seems to be right up your alley!
I would read the Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books religiously when I was a tween. I recently went through my old childhood books and noticed I still had a ton of the Nancy Drew ones. I’m going to have to revisit them.
Wow, you said that you love things that have to do with Romania! That is my home country! I did not know about that book, but I have put it on my wish list. :)
I have the Barnes & Noble classics edition of Wuthering Heights and I’ve been saving it for cozy weather as well. I have the Great Gatsby novel already on my wishlist and I added Jane Was Here. I’m a Jane Austen super fan too!
Jo & Laurie was one of my favorite read this year and the books blew me away in the way it was written and how the retelling still stayed true to Alcott’s voice (in my opinion)...I hope you enjoyed it!!
Recently found your channel and this video; love it!! I have all the Trixie Belden books from my mom when she was little. I love them so much! I rarely see others with them, so it amazed me that you like them as well! It's always nice to find not only another bookish soul, but one who also is also a Trixie fan. :)
If you like stories about older people, I think you'll love Fredrik Backman!! He has a lot of character based stories centered around older people or around their values.
Have only watched 5 minutes of this video but I’m subscribing and watching literally every video you’ve ever put out. You’ve got that chill ass vibe and I love listening to you talk about books!!!
The girl who circumnavigated fairyland in a ship of her own making is one of my favorite books and series! It's honestly perfect for autumn (the main character is literally called September) and it's so magical and cute, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
If you haven't seen the movie version of Wuthering Heights with Merle Oberon and Lawrence Olivier, I highly recommend it! It was made in 1939 and Olivier as Heathcliff is amazing!
I loved Trixie Belden when I was a kid! And they were so hard to find as they were out of print. I always searched for them on used book stores. GO Trixie, Jim and Honey!
You look like the adult version of Pippi Longstocking! I love vintage books, too, and I like Jane Austen. I have a few more books to read of her, but I like her telling and writing 😍 What was the name of the author, who is like Jane Austen but not so popular? I love Kate Morton, I hope you will like it.
Yes yes YES! I love I Capture the Castle, the Blue Castle and all Georgette Heyer!!! You are speaking my language! Desi I think you would LOVE Finghersmiths by Sarah Waters. Victorian London, a crew of sneaky criminals, a plot to infiltrate a fancy country estate, creepy gothic vibes, and a crazy plot twist I never saw coming. It is so good! you would probably like some of her other works too, Affinity and The Little Stranger, but Fingersmiths is her best!
Just added several of these to my list- thank u! And omg- my mom introduced me to Trixie Belden when he was younger and I grew up reading and loooving those- she had total vintage copies😃
I'm literally obsessed with your channel!! Your content is so inspiring and I love your book recommendations! I hope you do lots of videos on other seasons as well! Fall is my favorite, but I feel like if I had more of your inspiring videos for the other seasons, I'd learn to love those seasons as much as fall!
This was my first time watching your channel and you're already one of my favorite Booktubers. I just added about ten new books to my TBR! My mom has given me a lot of books from her childhood, and a lot of the vintage ones you got reminded me of them. It was nice to finally see someone on Booktube appreciating older books that I've had on my shelves for years (that I should really read! lol)
The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires isn’t so much scary as it is almost upsetting/unsettling in places if that makes sense. Its fantastic! I hope you enjoy🥰
The Girl who circumnavigated Fairyland must be a series. . . I just got “ the girl who flew over Fairyland” and it looks just like it but instead of red it’s blue.
I have never ever heard of anyone talk about Mary Stewart before!! My mother in law gave me a ton of her books years ago and they are some of my favorites!
I love your videos. They are full of such sunshine, smiles and pretty, pretty books! Oh by the way, since you mentioned that you love books about old people, you'll probably like A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman!
have you read the familiars by stacey halls? it's set in a northern english country town (my town actually 🥺) in the early 1600s and it's about the famous pendle witch trials, i think you'd really enjoy it! 🧡🖤
So glad I found you! I miss reading and googed autumn vibes books and you popped up. Oh my gosh love your enthusiasm and recommendations are totally something I would love. Yup. I also just bought the Midnight Sun. not a vampire book reader, this is my first one, but the twilight series has special spot in my heart from college when my friends and I were all over and read it together and then met at a theater in between us all for the premiere. We all just wanted to check out and get away. so looking forward to check out at the end of the day with midnight sun :D But I have bookmarked wurthering heights, anne of green gables and thought your recommendation on Diviners in your recent video was interesting, not something i would usually read but it sounds interesting. So glad I found you and all the cheery Autumn vibes! Love your energy
I just found your channel and I'm in love! 💛 Also I squealed when you held up The Magnificent Monsters of Cedar Street, because it's on my TBR too! I appreciate that you had a ton of unique titles in the mix rather than talking about the same popular books that the rest of BookTube always talks about.
Love, love, love this video! I got so many books to add to my TBR! Thank you! BTW, we seem to like 90% of the same books and I wanted to recommend some to you :) The Betsy-Tacy series by Maud Hart Lovelace, Linnets & Valerians (and also The Little White Horse) by Elizabeth Goudge, The Distant Hours by Kate Morton (You're going to LOVE the other books by KM and the audiobooks are incredible! I've listened to all of them about 3 times each - so good.) and Fingersmith (as well as The Little Stranger) by Sarah Waters. Your book enthusiasm is the same as mine and it's so super encouraging! *HUGS!*
OMG DESI. I love every single one of these books! I must have added over half to my TBR list haha. Also this video was so BEAUTIFUL! Your hair and the sweater - just everything!

Ahhh Another Desi Video Whooo 🙌🙌 Never heard of some of these and wrote them down an my never ending to buy list love that for me💞 You look stunning my friend💞😍🙌
OMG you're the first person I've ever seen that has read Wildwood Dancing!!! I love that book and I LOVE the sequel so if you haven't read it, you totally should! It's called Cybele's Secret and it follows a different sister's story.
First video I've ever watched of yours and you fall off the chair in the first 2 mins. Definitely subscribing 🤣❤
Same, I hit subscribe the moment she fell. 🤣
The same 🤣
This seems to be a theme lol.

You honestly make the greatest fall/winter videos on all of booktube!
Omg thank you 🥺🙏🏻 That’s the nicest thing to say!!
Oh my goodness!!! I grew up reading my moms Trixie Beldon books!!! So many good stories!☺️
I have the first 12 books of the Trixie belden series and I read all of them in 3rd or 4th grade, I'm so happy they have recognition
I just love everything about you and this video. How come I only now discovered your channel???
I know!! Me too!!
Same here! But even 5 months later.
Yes!! As much as I love new, pristine books, I love picking up a gently used book and knowing someone enjoyed it and wanted to share that book love.

*Watches this video writing down literally every book she holds up*
Also me: Peace was never an option
I just love how authentic you are.
When you fell off the chair...I kinda died 🤣
😂😂😂
Just found you and I’m OBSESSED with your vibe and esp your hair😍 can’t wait to watch more
You should definitely check out A Man Called Ove by Fredrick Backman. Especially if you like heartfelt stories about old people.
Anxious People as well, by the same author.

Oh you should also check out And the way home is getting longer and longer, its by the same author as a man name ove
And Three Things About Elsie
