I have to blue matte finished version of this cue in 20 ounce that I have been using for few months now. I tried bending the tip to see if has that flex you were showing and my was difficult to flex that much. Weight of the cue could be a factor on the tip flex. The shaft finish on the one I have is even and no defects. Mine is smooth without wearing a glove for about 30 minutes or so of playing. Definitely wearing a glove is best for this cue , same with carbon fiber shaft and maple with poly coating on it. Unfinished maple is my first choice if going gloveless. I have used my GSE cue during some of my local league matches and won a few using it. I also have an Aska L9 in 20 ounce that I use most of the time and it is liked by people that I let use it. I break and play with the same cue that I decide to use for my matches or practice.
Thank you for sharing your experiences! You are the second person here to mention that the blue version in heavier weights are stiffer than our green review model, not sure about that but anything is possible!! Glad you are enjoying your GSE! 👍👍
I love these types of videos and your layout of video! Great quality and informative. Seems like every pool video or review needs to be 5 minutes or less. I enjoy the longer more thorough reviews. I also would love for you test out tips on the same cue to see tiger Everest tips, thoroughbred tips in medium soft, milk dud tips, g2 medium tip, and Caiden fighter tips in either medium or soft.
It was ok for a first time cue of mine. I had a black 18 oz and a green 21 oz. Eventually I upgraded to Cuetec and a Z shaft from Predator. I gave the black one away eventually and the shaft was super warped when I spun it on a pocket lathe. 😂
Using this exact cue model in 21oz blue. Very little wobble and extremely stiff. Tip feels hard to medium. I use this cue is used for breaking only. Better than any off the wall cues at any pool/ billiards clubs. I won’t be crying about it if I inadvertently leave it behind lost either.
Good video but I'm still super confused: am I supposed to buy screw on tips or is the wooden tip it came with all Im supposed to hit the ball with? Doesn't seem like it can be chalked by itself. But there is no place to screw in a tip?
Haven’t even finished watching the video, but first thing comes to mind is cut it up, let’s see what’s inside, like the other cue they made you destroy. Its only a $35 cue
Need recomendation of cue for 100-140. Im thinking off a mcdermott lucky or a fury ty knight Viking valhalla isnt available in my country Some of my thoughts are the mcdermot is at 150 ish the one available is the one with decals that is 60$ more expensive thatln the normal one while the fury is at 120 with low deflection.
We don't have any experience of the Fury Ty Knight, but the Valhalla's are excellent, and we'll be reviewing the Lucky by McDermott soon. Have you tried buying a Valhalla from Amazon.com with International Shipping? Amazon.com ship all over the world, and shipping is very reasonable. Might be an option if you cannot buy one locally? Hope that helps 👍
Hey there! Firstly, that's quite a big price range! A good place to start would likely be the Valhalla which falls pretty much in the middle of your budget, see it here: ruclips.net/video/_9Auq6how2A/видео.html You may also want to take a look at STAR by McDermott (ruclips.net/video/b8d3cpMF2c8/видео.html) which are a touch over budget but great cues, and also the LUCKY by McDermott which is a strong competitor for the Valhalla (review coming soon). If you want to be nearer to $50, then the Aska L2 and Viper Underground Series are good for the money (as outlined in this video). Hope that helps 👍
My friend bought their break cue. It came rattling and with what I can only describe as, "an intensely underwhelming tip". I'd love to see that Lucky review soon!
You know, I'm not surprised at all! Definitely better budget cues out there for similar money! Yes, a Lucky by McDemott review is coming. We have a LOT of reviews coming up!! 👍
It depends what you consider not expensive I guess, but one our channel you'll find reviews for the Valhalla 100 Series, ASKA L2/L3, and also coming soon Viper Underground Series. Those are all solid cues in their respective price brackets, and you'll find the video reviews on our channel. Hope that helps 👍
Absolutely agree, however the this is still the best selling cue on Amazon despite there being much better budget cue options out there (as covered in the video) 👍
If you're in the UK, try the Amazon USA link in the Video Description. They can ship most items to the UK, and the shipping is very cheap too. Often much cheaper to buy USA pool equipment from Amazon.com and ship to the UK than buying in the UK. Hope that helps! 👍
Just ordered a WHITE one. For $40, it's just too simple/pretty looking not to try out. I'll come back for an update comment after a week or so of on felt use to update. *naming the cue: "Al". "AL BYNO".
Yes, despite being the best selling cue on Amazon it's really not a great cue at all, and there are much better options of cheap cues out there (as outlined in the video). Hope you liked the video, or found it entertaining though!! 👍
Thanks for sharing. As outlined in the video, there are indeed much better budget cues available (despite this being the best selling cue on Amazon!) 👍
Because of your recommendation … I bought the Valhalla by Viking. I know this is off topic but does it take time to ‘break in’ / ‘get used to’ a new cue? I’m a complete newbie but noticed I was doing much better with the crappy cue in my apartment complex. Thanks so much.
Yes, absolutely it does take time to adjust, and different cues can have very different feels and characteristics. This is one of the key reasons why we always give new products at least 5 hours testing before formulating an opinion, because using a new cue for 15-20 minutes just does not give the time to get properly tuned in to the characteristics of the cue. Stick with it, you'll dial it in 👍
In the base of this cue, that's a very wise idea indeed!! The colour can be changed (they have three options) but the cue itself can't. Much better budget cues available (as covered in the video). Those are wood too! 👍

Thank you, glad you are enjoying our review video's! We don't have any tip-specific review video's planned currently, but you never know!! 👍
I have the same cue but in black and it get sticky after some time playing, now i just use it for home security
Can you do a review on Schmelke cues soon ? Especially the 120 dollar cue . Appreciate your videos !
We'd love to cover Schmelke, and ideally their entry level $120 model. USA made too! Hopefully in the future 👍
It was ok for a first time cue of mine. I had a black 18 oz and a green 21 oz.
Eventually I upgraded to Cuetec and a Z shaft from Predator.
I gave the black one away eventually and the shaft was super warped when I spun it on a pocket lathe. 😂
Thanks for sharing! That was a VERY big upgrade from this to the Cuetec with Predator Z Shaft!! 👍
Not many reviews on katana cues they are pretty good
Yes, we'd definitely like to get our hand on a Katana cue for review. Maybe in the future! 👍

It comes with a leather tip already installed, you do not need to buy a separate tip. The tips on these are glue-on (not screw on). Hope that helps! 👍
I really want to get a rhino evo. Do you know anything about them?
I hear good things, especially for the price, but I've not tried one out yet 👍
Any chance a Predator acros 2 billiard ball set review coming?
We'd love to run a review on the Archos II's, but we don't currently have one in the pipeline. Hopefully at some point in the future! 👍
Haven’t even finished watching the video, but first thing comes to mind is cut it up, let’s see what’s inside, like the other cue they made you destroy. Its only a $35 cue
Love it!! 👍

a good cue you recomend from amazon? 50-200$ range?

@AverageJoesPool will it be your next video? If yes, im gna to wait till your review to buy my lucky
No, the Lucky review is still a while off unfortunately. 👍
Im from dominican republic and im looking for a good pool cue but not expensive.. can you recomend one for me please?

@AverageJoesPool I'm looking around 300 hundred AND down
@AverageJoesPool i Live in a poor country AND i just get 350 dollars in a month on my job.. i can't buy spensive
I can't imagine anyone who is remotely interested in pool would actually buy this. Might as well use a house cue.
Absolutely agree, however the this is still the best selling cue on Amazon despite there being much better budget cue options out there (as covered in the video) 👍
Put a good tip on it,and it could play lights out
A good tip would definitely improve things, but I guess it would for any cue 👍
It was very hard to see any wobble at the joint as the camera was out of focus.
Apologies for that. We tend to try and ensure that the tip is the main point of focus during testing 👍
just found one on amazon £92 !!!! bit of a difference.

White, nice choice! Hope you like it, let us know 👍
where’s the update comment, i’m thinking about buying their white one, please let me know how it is
@vexxic It's a very nice cue. Shoots straight and feels great. For $40, it's a no brainer...looks awesome too!
Without watching the video, I predict it will perform below wood and carbon fiber. Now it's time to watch the video.
Yeah this cue is pretty bad.
Yes, despite being the best selling cue on Amazon it's really not a great cue at all, and there are much better options of cheap cues out there (as outlined in the video). Hope you liked the video, or found it entertaining though!! 👍
