In short, Frieren is a bad anime for people who aren’t deep thinkers. It’s about the ripples left behind, consequences of actions - even ones that seem trivial - and has a lot of subtleties (for instance, there’s a reason she oversleeps a lot that is explained later if you’re paying attention).
It's more that people are always watching the same type of anime (shonen neketsu). So something more chill, more calm than naruto, jujutsu kaisen, one piece is not what they are use to. When they will understand that most of those neketsu are the same story with the same characters and the same sterotypes, they will become bored of it and will start searching for something else. I mean, a lot of frieren haters love demon slayer (from what I saw on forums, I could be mistaken, in fact I probably mistaken). And Demon Slayer is so classic. Most characters are dull and boring (apart from his main villain and the sound pillar who are pretty cool), magic doesn't make sense (or is poorly explained), story is classic as F and never try to surprise, Tanjiro NEVER encounter difficulties that will make him evolve as a character... ost was good though. I really can't stand neketsu anymore. Even good ones like jujutsu kaisen just bore me. And I think it's FMA's fault. It was that good that I was waiting for the same quality in shonen. Never saw it in neketsu shonen (except maybe HxH or One Piece). Since then I prefer new proposition. Like silver spoon, delicious in dungeon, apothicar diaries, frieren... Things I didn't read a thousand times with simply a different skin.

@@somerandomfatguy.3384You got that definition right. Frieren is an anime that you can show to any normal person without looking like a disgusting otaku. A story made to draw attention for the story. And not for the fights that attract children or the Ecchi that attracts perverts.

this, I recommended this anime to my friend because I thought this anime was the best anime I had ever watched, but strangely my friend said this anime was boring, I was curious why?
To be fair, the first 2 episodes is slow and a little boring. But as you keep watching, it becomes great to amazing show. Many people simply do not have patience to follow a slow-burn anime (not to mention young people these days have shorter attention span than older generations). I bet they don't like slice of life anime either. This happens to other popular anime too. One Piece wasn't popular in their first few chapters/episodes, same with Gintama. Most shounen anime nowsaday focus on impressive first episode like Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer, Kaju no 8, Attack on Titan, etc. but not many of them can keep the hype until the end.
People that aren't introspective don't value introspection, and won't be able relate to introspective stories. Perhaps for the same reason, they can't be bothered to edit their own work. As simple as that?
These Haters are losers and don't understand the greatness behind Frieren. It's the best Anime of the decade. Because this show become number 1 over his runtime not like other utter fucking Garbage after one fucking episode.
No it's just that you are so used to garbage issekai that a mid show with pretentious plot anime feels like a gem. You should infact question why is such the case and answer is because anime had died since early 2010s and all it produce just bs. That caters towards normies and mass appeal.
