Great review. It is surprising that You don't have much more viewers yet. Your channel is second to none in terms of quality when compared to other tennis racquets reviewers. So don't be discouraged by that and keep creating new content. I currently play with regular Ezone 98 2022 and look forward to try the Percept 100D as I want more control without too much loss of power. The regular Percept 100 might be the option too, but I'm afraid that the launch angle may be too high and I loose some plow with 5 grams less and maneuverability with more HH balance.
I really appreciate the kind words! I think that you'd genuinely enjoy the Percept 100D and it would be a much easier transition if you were to switch to it from the EZone 98 since the specs are similar! I definitely recommend the 100D over the base 100 because it offers more stability and plow through, in my opinion, it also twists less in the hand.
@@racquetguru4183 Thank You for the recommendation of the 100D. I will try it after a summer league season, which is soon. Don't want to decalibrate my play during the season with a new stick. I like your calm, but confident storytelling style of editing in the background and dignified, clean gameplay in the same time. Regards
I watch all the tennis gear channels on RUclips and my honest conclusion: 1. The Open Court Tennis Hawaii guy does the best and most accurate string reviews. 2. You do the best and most accurate racquet reviews!
Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad that you enjoy my content and I hope that I can keep putting out good quality content for you and all the other viewers. Is there any racquet you would like to see reviewed?
2:01 I got confused here as he said "the two hands were okay" but then I thought he said the "the four hands.." and I was thinking what sort of stroke is the four hands? 😀
Impressed by your form and review. Just subscribed. Agree with your comments, I tried 100D with leather grip and 5g (2.5g at 3 and 9 o'clock) and it was amazing for all strokes. My friend has L2 grip and I also prefer L3, so maybe even better. Strung with Solinco Confidential 18g at 52lbs. Update: I bought my friend's Percept 100D. Will now more hitting time with it to see its full capabilities.
Thank you for the sub! I'm glad you liked the racquet and thank you for your kind words! I would have loved to add a little lead at 3 and 9 positions, but I didn't have any lead tape at the time. I would actually want to try the racquet at 52 lbs with Head Lynx Tour at 17G or Grapplesnake Paradox Pro at 17G in an L3 grip. It's definitely a solid racquet that Yonex wanted to leave some room for customization.
Personally, I use Lynx Tour in the champagne color in 17G, but I've been testing some new strings like Grapplesnake Paradox Pro in 17G and it works really well in the hybrid set up I have (Paradox Pro in the mains at 54 lbs, Babolat Addixionat 57 lbs)
I don't think I'll be making the switch as I'm very happy with my Furi Arma Pro 98, but if I ever look for another racquet, I would definitely pick this one. It's all preference, but I don't think I would need to modify it at all. The specs are right in my wheelhouse and I didn't feel any need to put lead on the frame or handle. Highly recommend trying this! If you want a more detailed review, check out my written review on af-racquetsports.com
Does this produce sufficient spin and shape on the ball? I hate 18x20 racquets and how flat the ball trajectory is. There's not a single 18x20 racquet that I like. Should I give this a miss?
This 18x19 is actually decently spin-friendly, however not nearly as spin-friendly as a 16x19. I would say to try it out and see if you like it. Everyone has their own preferences and everyone has their own opinion
Thanks. How would you compared say your kick serve with this compared to your Furi 98? Better, worse, the same? Was it possible to get the ball really jumping? How about slice serves?@@racquetguru4183
If you want a higher launch angle and faster swing speeds, I would go with the 100. If you value more directional control and varying your shots between flat, topspin, and slicing with more margin for error, I would go with the 100D. I hope this helps!
I would use a Head Lynx Tour in the champagne colorway 17G at maybe 52 lbs. This racquet is quite soft and could use a little extra spin and power. That's just me though! You may have different preferences on strings! If you use grapplesnake paradox pro (mains) at 54 and gut (crosses) at 56, you may enjoy that as well!
Oddly enough, it's not as jarring as the regular 100. The hoop is stiffer, but it's still fairly soft. The 66 RA unstrung, 63 RA strung is firm, but not harsh. The off-center shots still offer some comfort, but the frame does let you know when it's not in the sweet spot.
Yesterday I had a chance to hit with Yonex Percept 100D and I must say that it is not my cup of tea. Originally I play with Yonex Ezone 98 2022 and it is much more versatile racquet. With the Percept 100D I gain nothing in comparison to Ezone 98 2022, but lost power, feel, stringbed liveliness and predictability, possibility to shape/arc trajectory. In comparison to Ezone 98 2022, playing with Percept 100D is like slicing bread with a blunt knife: "you know that you will finally slice a bread with this knife, but all joy to eat it leaves you".
I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy the frame, but everyone has their own tastes and everything is preference when it comes to choosing your gear. Hopefully you'll find what you're looking for if you're looking to switch!
@@racquetguru4183 Yes. I totally agree. It is all about the preferences. The fact that this stick was not for me does not mean that somebody else may even love it.
@@RobTennisBeckenham I have stayed with Ezone 98 2022. I have tested bunch of racquets, but nothing is so versatile as Ezone. Waiting to test the new Ezone on January 2025 when its about to come out. Then I will decide whether to stay with 2022 version or switch to 2025🙂

What are your personal favourites in terms of poly strings? ie stuff you personally use, pay money for etc.

Great strokes! Very smooth and nice! I wish I could hit like that
Thank you very much! I'm still trying to improve, so slowly, but surely.

Did you find the racquet slightly jarring outside of the sweetspot / hitting near the frame? I heard the hoop is stiffer?
