    Angell React MP Pro is a really nice 18x19 racquet, and is customisable, so you can play around a bit with the weights, balance, grip pallet etc Build quality and tolerances are Yonex class.

      Head Prestige MP 99 - 18x19 string pattern

      different racquets. tfight feels longer, like 27,5. more HH and much more sw and feels like 16x19 control racquets. more spin than 100D. 100D is easier on the bh side, sending the ball always same no mater how you swing. lower launch angle, lesser top spin. both are good, both are not whippy at all. I struggled on serves with both

    I use the head prestige MP 99 and have been demo’ing the percept 100D for the past week. I think the head prestige is a super underrated racket. Love the control, launch, and spin of the 18x19 and the flex is perfect for being firm enough for stability but soft enough for finesse shots. My only issue with the prestige is the head shape in a long oval while the percept 100D is boxier, which helps with a better sweet spot, especially around the net. The slightly stiffer 100D is also a lot easier to put away volleys while the prestige sometime lacks the firm, crisp response at net (although it’s great for drop shots and touch shots around the net). Overall, I think I prefer the prestige for singles for the softer, connected feel and the percept 100D for doubles for the slightly larger head size and stability on volleys and sending returns back with pace. The tfight iso 305 is another racket I want to try since it is 18x19, but I’m slightly worried about the 98 head size not being forgiving enough

    Perhaps just changing to a leather grip may give you the weight/balance you prefer? how muted/soft is the frame? You have head speed pro w/ auxetic? I like auxetic dampening and find it comfortable. As for other 18x19s, I believe Tecnifibre has one or two frames w/ that pattern.

    Great review again! Glad they changed the name since the vcore series is so different so they needed to differentiate more for sure. How do you feel about 16x20 racquets like the shift and aero 98? I like the aero 98 a lot and feel like the tighter pattern gives more control combined with spin.

    Thanks for the video. Beeing on the search of not to demaning control racquet, I was wondering how this racquet compares to the Prince Tour 100p. I play a ohbh..thus espec. manoeuvrability plays in important role. Thanks and happy new year 🎉

    Great review mate! Play style very similar to yours. So this year I switched to Speed Pro Auxetic really loved it initially. Very powerful and solid racket. But lacks maneuverability for me and too heavy to swing. Started to have elbow issues as well. So started to search for new racket and really loved specs of 100D. Bought it without test only based on specs. And man I love it! Very maneuverable and quick on net. Amazing feel and control. And as you say gives the spin that Speed pro lacks. I suffered with my 2 handed backhand on speed pro was too flat due to string pattern. Percept gave good spin and trajectory on backhand. Big advantage of speed pro however is power on serve and return.

      I'm glad the Percept 100D is working out for you. If you want to increase power on serve and return, you could add weight to the head and counterbalance by putting tungsten putty under the handle. Or you could have your grip slightly extended by sending it to a customizer but this costs quite a bit of money.

    You may want to try the prince synergy 98. High swing weight and twist weight. It’s an 18x18 pattern. Not easy to use but truly solid. It’s by no means a new prod. Been around for a while just not too popular with the low brand recall and marketing

      The Synergy 98 is VERY head weighted though - like the Blade 98.

    I tried it with poly and it was way too muted too. I really hate how Yonex's upgrade is to make the racquets even more muted.

    Thanks for the overview.. I especially like it when you said you're accustomed to this 18x19 racket ..
    Please share decent string set (brands type) recommend to try to squeeze topspin/control with decent durability??
    Also what weight, guage etc ...
    I've been looking for someone who is aggressive like myself and having experience with this racket!! I'm new to 18x19 but I feel it has great potential with good string formula
    thanks any help
    much appreciatiin 🙏

      For topspin/control, anything shaped like tour bite, hyper g, lynx tour will do well but if you want decent durability, a round poly would be better. Tourna big hitter silver could be a good match. Regular 125mm gauge will give good control and durability.

    How did you customize your 100d? Lead? Leathergrip?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  10 месяцев назад

      I did not customize this racket since it was a demo. If I could, I would add some weight in the throat to increase heft and also add weight under the buttcap to increase maneuverability. I would also add a crisp string since this racket is really muted.

    This racquet is not soft. Maybe the string in the demo racquet was soft ;)

    Funny, this is the first Yonex I didn’t find mushy. It’s def crisp and lively having a stiff head…
    Think it may have been the strings 🤷‍♂️

    Yesterday I had a chance to hit with Yonex Percept 100D and I must say that it is not my cup of tea.
    Originally I play with Yonex Ezone 98 2022 and it is much more versatile racquet. With the Percept 100D I gain nothing in comparison to Ezone 98 2022, but lost power, feel, stringbed liveliness and predictability, possibility to shape/arc trajectory. In comparison to Ezone 98 2022, playing with Percept 100D is like slicing bread with a blunt knife: "you know that you will finally slice a bread with this knife, but all joy to eat it leaves you".

    • @RobTennisBeckenham
      @RobTennisBeckenham 7 месяцев назад

      Interesting, I have an ezone 98 as well and thinking of changing to a 100 like the blade 100 or percept 100. Have you tried the precept 100 rather than the D?

    • @zulugula5494
      @zulugula5494 7 месяцев назад

      @@RobTennisBeckenham I did not try the Blade 100 2024 or regular Percept 100. I tried previous Blade 100 (pale green with shifting colours) and nothing WOWed me in it. Ezone 98 had more pop, more control /accuracy, more spin, better serve. I also tried previous Blade 98 (also pale green) and it was better than the above-mentioned Blade 100 in every aspect.
      It depends on what you need and it is hard to give some advice through the youtube comment without knowing your game, but if you want more control, try the newest Blade 98 and if you want more power and spin in the same weight department, try Babolat Pure Aero 98. It is a little more wild than Ezone 98 2022, but a lot fun to use - it just crushes the ball with proper fast swing with a little loss in control comparing to Ezone 98 2022.

    Woah nice kick serve Ace Kent. Bet that felt rewarding! I've only just got my first 16X 20 racket. Never tried an 18X 19 string pattern before but sure want too now, nice serve 👍😎
    The only racket that ever gave me a respectable kick serve was the Wilson Labs Shift X. Dieing to try a hybrid bed of Wasabi (crosses) and Restring Zero in the mains. I'm more than confident you will really like either. Wasabi X is very recent on the market. Restring Zero is supposed to be coming out with a new string as well as Grapplesnake Paradox Pro.
    Good video I could use some singles practice too....Rich👍

    I string my rackets with a gut/ poly hybrid. Would it work with this racket?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  Год назад +1

      Yes I think that would work. The Percept is very soft though so gut may make it even softer. Something to keep in mind.
