    Great video, thanks for comparing it to some other brands too, I'm currently using a pro staff but looking at getting something more comfortable and the 97 might just fit the bill.

    Correction: Wawrinka doesn't use the Vcore Pro/Percept 97H and never has. He uses an older Vcore 95D. The Vcore 95 is the closest current racquet but would need some extra weight added to get close to Stan's specs.
    Tiafoe doesn't use the 97H either, he endorses the 97 (310g) but plays with an older 97 Dual G which is pretty similar to that older frame. He also skips one of the mains to make it 16x19.

      Thanks for the insight - impressive knowledge. We of course mean “endorsed by” said players rather than “used by”.

      Tiafoe uses a duel g 290 customized to 310 with a higher sw than the regular (aroit 328).
      I was thinking Wawrinka was playing with the vcore tour 330 (I kept one brand-new therefor... 😅).

    What suggestions do you have for customizing PERCEPT 97? I now have my racket now. Can you suggest where to put lead? Did you recommend a leather grip? Or will the racket become too heavy? What are your recommended specs?

    Great video as always. Which strings and tension would recommend on the 97 and 97H. What level do you need to bet at to be able to handle the 97H? Thank you!

    • @PH-Tennis
      @PH-Tennis  Год назад +1

      Thanks! The rackets were strung with Yonex Poly Tour (Pro & Air) at 53lbs. String tension is a personal thing really, but we usually go between 50-55lbs. As for handling the 97H, sound technique will help, but it’s more about whether you can control the racket without hurting yourself rather than ability. Hope that helps!

    One question if possible. I am writing to you from Armenia. I am 33 years old (58кг 166-168cm height). I have wanted to learn to play tennis for a long time. I found a coach for myself, and today was my 9th lesson. I was able to play with him 10 times already😁😁😁. I really like the videos on your channel, and I've learned a lot from watching them too. So here's my question... Could you recommend 1-2 specific tennis racquets that are suitable for a beginner player like me but also that have really good quality? I can order them from the United States or Europe, so that's not a problem. Also, I believe a larger head size would be beneficial to easily hit the ball ( BUT IF THE TREND IS SHIFTING TO 98 HEAD SIZE, MAYBE BETTER ME TO START FROM THERE?) . Also what you think is it better for me to pick light weight version of a racquet or a standard one like 280gram or near 300?
    Was thinking about these ones....
    1 - Yonex VCORE "L"
    2 - Yonex EZONE "L"
    3 - Pure Drive "team"
    4 - Pure Aero "team"
    Thank you in advance, would highly appreciate if you respond in a little elaborated way ) thanks again

    • @PH-Tennis
      @PH-Tennis  Год назад

      Thanks for your question - it's almost impossible to recommend a racket without knowing you and seeing you play.
      Don't worry about any trends - a 100sq in head is likely to be easier for someone at your level but it's all personal preference and you might find you prefer the control you get with a 98.
      Again, without knowing you or seeing you play, it's very difficult to suggest the right weight for you, the advice we'd always give is to play with the heaviest racket you can manage without either hurting yourself or losing the ability to play.
      Our advice would be to find a demo service and try them out for yourself - most retailers offer this service. All of the rackets you list are good rackets so the best thing to do would be to try them out and see. We hope that helps!

    How does the percept compare to the Ezone 98 and 100?

    • @PH-Tennis
      @PH-Tennis  Год назад +1

      I think this is covered in the video, but put simply and shortly; the Ezone provides more easy access to power. The percept is all about control (and there’s lots of it!) and while the extra stiffness offers more power than the Vcore Pro did, it’s not the same as an Ezone

    Hi. Have you tried the 100? How does it compare with the 100 D?
    I’m a topspin player who wants control in my shots. I hit aggressively. I have a one handed backhand. Prefer the 100 over 97 inches. More forgiveness.

    • @PH-Tennis
      @PH-Tennis  Год назад +1

      We haven’t had a chance to play with the 100 yet, but our comments on the 100D should hold true. Yonex does a good job of keeping the rackets very similar through the different weights. We can let you know once we’ve played with it (hopefully in the next few days)

      I am a topspin player. Tennis Warehouse specialists tell me you get much more spin from the 100. But I confess I’m interested also in 100 D. I’ll get possibly the 100 but tempted to get a 100 D. Wish I could demo both before buying but no not available to demo.

      @@PH-Tennis I use the VCP 97D, so I know the mold and pattern well. It sits only between the 310 and H in static and swing weight. The 18x20 pattern gives it noticeably better control, a huge sweet spot and some of the best string bed consistency of any frame out there, bar none, but also a lower launch angle. I liken the 97D to a much more head-light and maneuverable Gravity Pro -- especially excellent for those of us one-handed backhand players.
      With the Percept 97D, I'm primarily wondering if 1) the removal of VDM and addition of Servo Filter equates to better, more firm/crisp feel and 2) if the slightly stiffer hoop provides a bit more free power without removing the finer-grained control. Will be keen to see your thoughts!
