The Elder Scrolls I, II, III and IV all took place within the same lifetime. Within Uriel's lifetime, in fact. The Emperor that dies in the beginning of the fourth game, is the same one we're tasked with rescuing in the first. Uriel was a force from the beginning of it all, from the first time anyone ever loaded up an Elder Scrolls Game. We existed within the Septim Dynasty, all the way until the end of the Oblivion Crisis. I see a lot of people complaining that Skyrim wasn't as good... but it isn't that it's worse, it's that it FEELS different. In that way, the developers did a perfect job. The first four games were more alike to one another, because they all took place within a few decades... but after that, it was CENTURIES before the events of Skyrim took place. We existed in a new age of heroes, with four different people who changed the course of Nirn's history within such a short span of time. The man who stopped Jagar Tharn, which led to Martin being able to be born, the man who caused the warp in the west, bringing many timelines together, the immortal re-incarnation of an ancient Chimer, who broke the control over the heart of Lorkhan and defeated the Gods of Morrowind... and finally, the man who not only helped his friend become the Avatar of a god... but later became a Daedric God himself. But in Skyrim, all we hear of is the shattered legacy of a bygone era. The Knights of the Nine have been destroyed, the Blades work from the Shadows, the Empire is ruled by a coward, the people of Tamriel live in fear of Elven overlords, the once loyal and hopeful nation of Skyrim is torn apart by civil war, Vampires seek to take over the world, the World Eater intends to do the same... while consuming the souls of all he meets... and the first Dragonborn ever to exist, seeks to devour the last and become the ruler of all things. In Skyrim, we aren't the beginning of anything... we're not the man who destroys a tyrant and brings about a period of peace for the empire, or the man who changes time, we're not the man who had the soul of one long dead... and we're not the man who pushed back Oblivion and then became a god. The end of each Elder Scrolls game is a beginning, but Skyrim makes one thing clear... we are the LAST Dragonborn. There will never be another... it ends with us. And though there may be other heroes, there will never be another quite like us. Skyrim is the dying breath of what the Empire used to be... of the heroes it used to represent. The Dragonborn is the final gasp of glory. When the Elder Scrolls VI comes out, my guess is that we will be working to stop the Thalmor, to END the suffering... to bring in a new age of heroes... but Skyim isn't that story... and when you understand how dire things really are in Skyrim, you begin to understand that, while the story was different... it was by no means, bad.
All that work, all that sacrifice, and then the events of Skyrim happen. One reason why I always side with the Empire in Skyrim is because I will not let everything I fought for and Martin's sacrifice be in vain!

Thats an ending where you can get off your computer seat, go outside and take a nice walk in the sunshine.
0:00 Oblivion Ending.
Where can I find the music for when Martin is talking?
Greatest elder scrolls ending
I will agree that Oblivion’s ending is much better than Skyrim but i prefer Skyrim due to the magic system. And the shouts, gotta love them shouts.
This is really great fight, akatosh vs mehrunes dagon awesome
:D
So cool
dark brotherhood questline was pretty good not to mention the awsome dlcs
:3
Thanks for this. All the others I found where in 240p and it was terrible.
you should've became an emperor
The game would've become boring after beating the main quest line if that were to happen.
+Cheeco Bean What? No, it would add even MORE to the game. There could be new systems, like upgrading cities, giving you something to dump all of your worthless gold on. It could grant you amnesty from the law at low bounties, stuff like that.
I miss Oblivion , Morrowind but hopefully in Elder Scroll VI we can go back to Oblivion , Morrowind , Skyrim , Cyrodill and Valenwood
i agree with you skyrim is so damn awesome never know what to suspect once i had to fight off three dragons by myself but then i watched they were fighting each other and turning into a werewolf and flinging giants oh so much fun
:D
i was really shocked when martin sacrifice him self for tamriel " if i got a chance to kill marunes daggon my self i will kill him with all force XD
Martin: “I know my sacrifice was not in vain’
The thalmor: allow us to introduce ourselves
Best ending to any game
I am crying...
All down hill for the Empire after that atleast for 200 years, hopefully it'll make a comeback in elder scrolls 6
damn Martin Septim, good emperor indeed
I wish you guys stop bitching about how good skyrim's graphics are then oblivion old generation game with best ending then skyrim ending.
Watching this in 2022 thinking how much better this ending was than Skyrim's
