- Now I understand why this game is famous for being buggy. The last level is insanely difficult if you don't have levitate. I only had levitate potions, so I was trying to save them in case I really needed them later, so I had to jump from platform to platform. Unfortunately the jumping mechanics in this game are a buggy mess. Took me hours to do, luckily for you I cut it down to 28mins.
Onto the next Elder Scrolls(Hopefully I can finish more than one next year.)!
Would love to see a true remake of these games
its being ported to the Unity engine, makes it much easier to play and brings stuff like mod support
Some modders recreated the whole main quest into skyrim and called it skygerfall

I played like more than 400 hours of this game and couldn't finish it. Now I understand why.
i just finish this game 10 minute ago, im proud now i can move on to a less glitched game...
It’s extremely rough in the glitches but was great for the time. If you liked this you should check out system shock

Thank you very much for this playthrough, particularly for this last part. There is no way I could have ever figured out this unbearably buggy and glitchy game otherwise.

Can you imagine how large 68,000 square kilometers of world would be in Skyrim engine? I'd need three extra hard drives just to download it.

This game is still epic for the current year: there is literally no fantasy RPGs with the game world as big as Daggerfall.
Also, I take back my multiple endings request, you've been through enough! Thanks man for the LP, someone needed to get through this over ambitious (although I'll give Bethesda credit for it), yet fun to watch, mess of a game.

And I agree that this game seems messy. Heck, I´m surprised Vazz is even capable of navigating the towns and cities let alone the dungeons, castles etc.
BTW: I know you don´t like Daggerfall but what do you think of the other games in the series??

I never understood why The Underking is so important that you have to see him leave his tomb regardless of who you gave the totem to.
Press f10, for the easy camera controls, go to controls, cursor (i think) and then change from cursor based to view based. The thing now is that every time you want to interact with something you need to press the button to show the cursor. I have movement on WASD and show cursor on Space.
This game is amazing, I am stuck in the tower where you find Medora, found her, but she says I am not. High enough level, and I'm only level 6 :P so either I desperately looks for a way out to grind, or desperately grind in the dungeon and then try and get out after words :P

Took me about 2 years to beat this game... I gave the totem to the orcs, though. Their cause seemed to most noble to me (freedom and all).

Someone explain the ending..and the game's story please.
Ending, go into land of the dead and complete one of seven tasks. One of seven endings happen but in the lore they all happen at once and the main character dies for unexplained reasons in Atherius even though they seem to be alive to me. Just a recap from the wiki. Never actually finished it and as neat as it is I don't care too.
To give a quick explanation on why everything happened at once. It's known as the 'warp of the west' and I have no idea why it happened or how. I just know the agent was killed when it happened and split into separate states of existence (seven to be exact) and all each completed one ending. Ultimately, all endings were completed, thus the multiple outcomes in the next game.
(Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. This was all off the wiki and my very limited knowledge of the game.)

It's just too copy and paste for me. Ironically I get criticized for being "ignorant" when I say that. But random generation doesn't matter if they constantly used copy and pasted textures over and over and over and over and over.

Anyway, sorry for that rant. I hope you don't take me wrong, the game is good and the lore is absolutely just fantastic. But I guess the character doesn't know they are dead? Which would kind of make sense I guess. But yeah, from everything I read they definitely died in Atherius and I guess their soul was trapped there or something.

It's hard to understand Daggerfall. I suggest you go to wikipedia, the plot there is actually very well explained.
All of the TED are really well done. Even arena looked okay.
Arena was kinda trash tbh, I could see why it was good in the mid 90's but now in the mid 20's it's trash imo

I still cant understand how I managed to finnish this game, uber HC, as my english sucked so much those 15+years ago, and there are spoken riddles, It was crazy but I made it (not counting those months to even get to this place)... hardest and best game Ive ever beaten
-_- The series is called The Elder Scrolls. Skyrim is the 5th in the series, This game was top notch for it's time, around 1994.

Hopefully the engine remake DaggerXL will give us daggerfall without the bugs when it's finished :)
I never really thought I completed this game like 10+ years back, but I obviously did. That ending sucked *****. But everything up to it was amaze. I have to agree with others about revamping this in atleast morrowin engine. You'd have both my babies and my life savings then.
When you do Morrowind SERIOUSLY consider the immense amount of mods there are for that game. You can improve so much in terms of graphics, additions, fixes, making things more realistic and simply removing that damn fog. I recommend doing a LOT of research.

Dagerrfall & Oblivion Are the only Elder Scrolls I actually liked? I had Arena, but I didn't like that growing up.

How on earth do you avoid getting stuck at 22:50. There doesn't seem to be any way around it.
I got the same thing if you run off the crossbow notch and click the halberd with the cursor it throws you past the wood piece that buggers up and near the sword and you just levitate and then fly to the door at the end of the sword. (for anyone who is stuck)

@Nekhet I'm playing Morrowind ATM but I'm looking at mods to make it more realistic. Magic and such aside I gotta have realism else there's too little immersion for me.
I know these games are huge accomplishments but there are certain things about each that let them down individually. Thankfully the modding community is absolutely massive so it's possible to improve on what are already great achievements.
So who is the final boss? Does this game have one, like how Morrowind had Dagoth Ur, Oblivion had Mehrunes Dagon, and Skyrim has Alduin?

@stfuenviousnoob I'm using the fixes from the Morrowind Patch Project but I've seen others that change up magic and stuff. I guess some people think that they know how to balance things better. Personally I don't know enough to know the difference! I want fixes that prevent crashes, fix things that don't make sense, correct typos and plot-holes that shouldn't be there, that sort of thing. The official patches only fix some of these things,other patches been fixing 4 much longer.
He will start using a mic when he gets to Morrowind. He stated it in the comments of a Battlespire video he posted.
I've heard about the 6 endings, it looks like it's the imperials one, but I don't understand WTF the hero just did at the end, he just looks the future with an old lady??? o_O

@stfuenviousnoob It depends on the mod. Such big games often hide so many bugs, even dragons that fly backwards, ahem. The fix-packs in general don't change any of the mechanics and neither do the graphics mods. There are some big game-changing mods out there and yes they can make a whole new game but I'm looking for things like NPCs sleeping at night and stuff personally. Some of the quest add-ons look pretty cool too and I doubt they affect the main storyline at all. Wait&see.

@MagikGimp and that's your problem. mods are as non-canon as they are. i mean you want original? you want real deal elder scrolls? play vanilla and don't forget the official patches. community patches are practically another word for mods. can't remember how many times i have seen fanmade patches with a little else like telling some game mechanics to fuck off. they get their hands on the "fixing tool" and go wild. official patches in the other hand won't/don't get off by adding wacky things.

@MagikGimp i agree with you on the high quality mods. they can add a lot of nice things. thing is they can completely fuck up the game too. for example i have seen a patch supposedly created to fix bugs but then a quick look at the changes log and you find out they changed the value of many things, ranging from items to game mechanics. but overall, they can be a nice change of pace from the original game. now if you want the real deal elder scrolls play the original with official patches.
