I stumbled into your video @10.30p.m., & decided to give it a try!! Auto Critic, you have all the qualities of a Good Diplomat!!
You covered all controversial points with great skills, & gave a great presentation!!
Congratulations!! I liked the line, First timers, select 1.0 ltr, Enthusiasts, 1.5Ltr!!
Problem is, VW has become rich man's car, and our Nation, doesn't give Empty highways, to drive!!( Mumbai Pune expressway, too has bumper to bumper traffic)!!
So, 'Angoor Khatte Hain', as Skoda has deep pockets, it will survive any how( That is one reason to price their products exorbitant!!)
Hope,my Grandson, would buy a Skoda one day!!

100% true. Recently I did Bangalore Pune trip in my 1.5 DSG . Got 17-18 Kmpl mileage . Its extremely stable at 100 speed , at max I took it to 140 speed without any issues. Overtaking in highways was pretty smooth but if you’re in 2 lane highway road like the one you get between Belgaum to hubbali , then use sports mode. In sports mode u don’t feel the turbo lag. The cruise feature was extremely helpful.

Must admit they have offered no nonsense, Timeless classic designed Car. Its the best among 4.3 Mts SUV segment. According to me they should have offered more width (100-125 mm) for 3 family members on the Rear Seat. Thats only design fault & we can't blame them as most of European Cars are designed for 4 members only. But when you make India Specific cars then they should have offered comforts of 5 members.
Skoda knew their Servicing or Labour charges were high & Spares were expensive so presently are offering 4 years Free Service Package as a Cover up of their history. Thereafter the Service Stn will certainly milk your royally with high labour charges & Expensive Spares. Would say Murghi for ₹100 & Labour-Masala for ₹1000. VW-Skoda charges labour in Euros or India equivalent. They are Global leader yet in India they are pushed to the walls by Maruti & Korean Twins in India.
Hence VW-Skoda has offered A COMPROMISED Platform in Body Safety & Material Quality for India. Kushaq-Tiagun & Slavia-Vertus are based on this platform.
They claimed of testing their Cars for 7 lacs kms. Yet they offered a Half Baked Product with lots of problems & defects. Most surprising Miss is No Engine Protection Plate & under bonnet engine Insulation.
Would advice you should never ever buy Cars at the launch but wait for atleast 2 years from launch for them to iron out defects, problems, etc.... & shuffle features in variants to Indians requirements.

Compromised platform ? Absolutely not just see the crash test results and then comment. Those are a tight slap to people like you who say they have compromised safety and platform. Ofc they've degraded the quality of plastics by 10-15% when compared to rapid, vento and polo. Car manufacturers like Hyundai, Kia and even Suzuki sell degraded products India and there's ALOT difference than the degraded products of these companies and VW. Why doesn't anyone point it out ? Why only VW is targeted just because they degraded the quality by 10-15% whereas other brands degrade the build quality, the use of high strength steel in the car, safety and even features ( Kia, Hyundai and even Suzuki ). Check out the amount of high strength steel used in international seltos and compare it with Indian version and you will find difference ! Why don't the journalists and other people address this ?? Why don't they bash Kia for degrading quality in such a pathetic way ? Earlier when VW used to focus on great quality plastics, unique features (dual horn, unexposed screws in the cabin, dampening on handles, more performance oriented cars) at that time none cared ! Now to sustain in the market they skipped all of these features HOWEVER THEY DIDN'T COMPROMISE ON SAFETY PARAMETERS. The platform is well built and it proved itself when it scored 5 stars in adult and even child safety which is exceptional that too with more updated and stricter norms. None of the cars in the segment neither XUV 700 scored 5 stars in child safety but VW did. Why can't anyone point this out ? Other cars in the segment scored 3 stars that too with old norms and with some marginal points ? Can't you and all others who are bashing VW for degrading quality (build quality which they didn't) also bash Hyundai, Kia and Seltos for providing below average build quality ? And about the problems faced by the owners everyone needs to understand that when a car is built on a new platform then it is tend to have some problems (current problems of EPC has been fixed and even the AC problems are fixed through software update) but still people and paid journalists are pointing this out and making an issue out of it. Even Tata's and Mahindra's cars (XUV700, SAFARI and HARRIER) faced various issues and were recalled by the company. Why dont people talk about that ? Hyundai has alot of issues regarding brakes, dct transmission, paint peeling, rusting. Why don't anyone point this out ? U will never see paint and rusting issue on VW cars. Ofc I admit there are issues regarding after service sales I admit that but they're trying their best to solve them. You can even opt for extended warranty of 2 years of 4 years of that service package. About the availability of spare parts it was an issue but it's getting resolved as well and the price of spare parts it's according to the quality of spare parts used in the car. The quality of spare parts used are greater than the competition so it's obvious if you've pay little premium for it. I just hate this when this brand is CONSTANTLY and UNNECESSARILY TARGETTED BY THE PEOPLE. It's not their mistake though it's because of lack of awareness and due to the paid journalists. Almost all big and reputed auto channels are paid by the companies and if one company doesn't pay them then it's obvious for them to bring out unnecessary points which are useless.VW doesn't pay anyone to stay silent about the negatives or to stay positive about the cars 🙂. But the important aspect is they have a reach to millions of people and this people blindly follow their advice and opinions.

And about under bonnet insulation.... They've started providing it in Slavia 🙂 and within few months you will see it in Virtus and SUV siblings.

Kushaq build quality is far better than seltos, creta and japanese rivals. Also engine better than TATA.And due to localization for India , spare parts cost is much lesser, which is good for maintenance. New kushaq have no issues like 2021 batches, plz check customer review.

I am a Kushaq and Creta Owner, and I find the Kushaq's Boot better than Hyundai. I can load more baggage in Kushaq. Agree with you fully that 1.5 TSI Petrol 4-Cylinder is the best engine. But it stupid on part of VW-Skoda not to offer 1.5 TSI MT in the lower variants.
Agreed 4-Cylinder 1.5 TSI to be atleast ₹1 lac expensive over 3-Cylinder 1.0 TSI. But fail to understand Why 1.5 MT is not offered in base & lower variants.
There must many like me who are not interested in Feel good features but want the best 1.5 TSI Engine for better drivability at lower speed. 3-Cylinder 1.0 TSI Engine under 1500 rpm in our Chaotic City traffic will always be less efficient than linear power delivery of 4 Cylinder Petrol engine.

Please make same video for Creta 1.5 NA IVT as It has very less videos on youtube. And also provide for Hector CVT. Whom should consider kushaq tiagun & whom should consider slavia virtus as difference is just 60K between german suv & german sedan.
My confusion is Creta 1.5NA IVT Top model 20 lakh on road & Virtus 1.0 Topline AT 19 lakh on road & Hecor top Model CVT 22 Lakh. Want to keep car for 10 years. Currently super satisfied with 2011 Honda City iVtec performance & zero maintenance.

Is the cylinder deactivation technology in 4 cylinders.. similar to the dual jet concept in Suzuki/Toyota vehicles.. due to which the fuel efficiency gets a bit better??

    • @marksanyal
      @marksanyal Год назад +1

No, it is a different technology. Cylinder deactivation shuts down 2 cylinders at higher speeds. This way your car becomes a 2 cylinder engine. When you need power, the other cylinders start again.
Dualjet keeps all cylinders active at all times. It just uses better fuel injection to get a good air fuel mixture. This uses less fuel at all times compared to cylinder deactivation which only happens in specific conditions.
