  • Welcome to Navy Boot Camp, also known as Recruit Training Command. This is the 10-week long program designed to turn civilians into Enlisted Sailors. Here, you’ll master the fundamentals of life in the fleet-physical fitness, swimming, firefighting, standing watch, military language and most importantly, warrior toughness. All this knowledge culminates in the ultimate test before graduation, Battle Stations. No matter where your skill levels are when you arrive, the leaders at Boot Camp will make sure you graduate as the strongest version of yourself.

    Bootcamp was the longest thing and the shortest thing I’ve ever done. Btw the hardest thing about bootcamp is by far taking care of all the man children in your division.

    • @kaseywoody4951
      @kaseywoody4951 Год назад +8

      Absolutely, your experience in boot camp is not determined by your RDCs. It's dictated by your fellow recruits. All three of your RDCs want you to transform from a civilian/recruit into a sailor. Unfortunately, there are those "recruits" who are un-sat and make the experience of boot camp 20 times more difficult than it should be. At least, that was my experience at Navy Boot Camp from July 21st to September 30th 2022, in Ship 13 (Marvin Shield) Division 334.

    I graduated earlier this year on SEP 16, 2022, it was by far the most life-changing experience Ive had in my 20 years of life. It was one hellawuh mental challenge-the nuisance of immature teens, nonstop sickness, various tests, marching, swimming, fire-fighting, marksmenship, etc. Its all one big bundle package of character development! While inside, I absolutely hated it, but once after graduating bootcamp and having a grace period to come back to a normal human being, I understood it all. Its a process and one worth having. Too many quit within the first few weeks, dont be one of them, make it through onto greatness, I PROMISE it gets better! Its TRULY APPRECIATED in our COUNTRY!

      @@timothyphouthavong A school for me was relatively easy- due to my prior EMS background. However that doesn’t mean that the program isn’t challenging and expectations are high. As long as you make the time to study and really want to earn your Caduceus- you’ll make it. (Don’t get distracted by other people and their shenanigans)
      FMTB
      Depending on which coast you go to-your experience might very slightly
      I went West Coast- it’s definitely intense in terms of hiking, and the PT that they do. At least that’s how it was for me when I went in.
      But it’s nothing that’s impossible. Just have heart and you’ll be fine. Definitely recommend that you work on your running and getting used to having about 30-50 pounds of weight on your back.
      But aside from the physical, the academic side of it is a big portion of the school. You learn a lot and make friends.
