The other videos all they would replace would be the ones you twist a little and they slide right down. I knew I didnt have that bulb. Then you said push it towards one end and the other end will come down! That did it thank you for showing all the differences.
Thanks so much! I had my new bulbs in all aligned properly & it didn’t work, so I found your video & THEN found out from you that it’s cuz they’re the wrong diameter😂 oops! Thanks for all the info!! :)
Thank you so much. This answered so many questions. When I replaced 1 bulb and saw no light, I thought I was screwed. When I replaced ALL bulbs...SUCCESS! The biggest problem was reinstalling the "cloud" cover. I still don't know if I did it right but it seems so. Replaced 32 watt with 40 watt. Almost bought smaller 32 watt. Glad to hear you said NO!
Dino, I actually have a bunch of the older style CFL T-12 fluorescent fixtures on my fish tanks. The pet shops and aquarium supply websites stopped selling T-12's so I put the newer style thinner T-8 tubes in and they have been running for a couple years now with no issues at all. They are just as bright as the wider tubes too. Same original ballast and starters in the fixtures, I made sure the bulbs were the same wattage also.
Thanks for your time and attention to detail. My problem is that one of the bulbs on a double bulb light will not turn easily. It's a double pin bulb. Does it matter which way the quarter turn goes? The video only show the turn on the first bulb. Do they all turn in the same direction no matter which side of the fixture they are on?
I have a whole bunch of UVC t5 double-ended bulbs tubes and I was wondering is there any way to convert them into single-ended so they would fit in a quartz sleeve thanks in advance if you can share something with me
I like the old florescent t12 troffers. I do like leds but I think they flicker and have some problems in cold weather. I also think the magnetic ballast can last colder applications then leds
One thing I recommend is to replace the bad bulb. You can replace all bulbs but on that one ballast. The 4 bulb fixtures have 2 ballast so replace all the bulbs on that pair.
sandydogy your talking about the new T8 tubes? not compatable with older tubes or ballast, Running a T8 tube with a ballast for T12 will reduce lamp life and can increase energy yuse...tube type should always match the markings on the fixture.,,,thx
Hey Dino I have collected fresh lightbulbs are over 52 years and still do I have over 1000 balls in my collection of all different sizes and kinds let me know if you collect fluorescent lightbulbs and watch my videos I think you’ll like them take care and happy new year
Thank you!!! In the ballast's that have 4 long flourescent's, can you get away with just installing two bulbs, instead of all 4??? I don't need the full brightness? thanks again your vid is very helpful!
actualy you can put the t12 fluorescent tubes in t8 fixtures and t8 in t12 fixtures, because if the fixture is preheat or electronic start you will get light, even with rapid start ballast the t8 also work, so you are a kind of liar :) We do this trick in our schools in Lithuania, and in others countries, because the t12 are phaised out fluorescent tubes in Europe, and in old soviet fixtures instead of puting t12 tubes (because we don't have them), we are puting t8 and it work like a charm. so you are liar.
I couldn’t figure out how to replace single pin bulbs but thanks to you I do! You’re the best!
Thank you!! This was very helpful and I've now changed all 44 fluorescent tubes in my office. Learning to do this myself has saved some money :)
Liz Ridley 44, liz your a real tube changing machine...i'll bet that ofice is noce and quiet, bright and esy working conditions that was last week!!!

Thanks alot! I was really stuck on the round one until you explained that you first take off the clips and then you can find the pins. Thanks!
Needed the How To for single pins. Thank You!

I think you missed the single pin long tubes. How do we pop those out?
Thank you.

I have a GE portable flouresent lighting fixture that I can carry in my pocket, How do I get the lens off?

Yes Willia, but replace pairs, either both inside or both outside bulbs
Hi. Got all four in, and they are blicking, and not fully coming on. bummer, so frustrating.
William Ezzo check the ens, make sure all the pins are seated in sockets
i'll be at store tomorrow, I'll check em again, thanks man!
Can the electricity be ON when doing it ? Or OFF ?
Replacing basilisk
Can you still buy those circline fixtures anymore?
Xirexter Yes, you can still buy them.
I thought you could leave it on, but sometimes I got sparks, so I didn't think that was good. lol
You didn’t talk about the 2D Fluorescent lights
If the ballast goes bad I would take the fixture down and replace it
"Keep up and pay attention." :-)
