I always used coats and clark hand quilting thread, extra strong with the glace finish. It was Cotton covered polyester. Now this was years ago and they no longer make that exact thread. They still make quilting thread but it is not the same! Years back that thread was strong, it never tangled, it never broke or frayed. It was my absolute favorite. Now you have intrigued me with this Americana thread because in desperation I’ve tried several other threads and all have fell extremely short of my expectations. I’m tired of throwing good money after bad.
@@shamrockquiltstudio I just ordered the thread online at Joann. It’ll be ready for pickup tomorrow. It was on sale to boot! I have never seen this thread there before. I must have not been looking hard enough! Thank you for the recommendation!
Very informative! Thank you for taking the time to explain. No gray is of no concern to me. Im the odd man out here. I can’t stand gray anything. The gray trend in decorating makes me so sad. Im stuck in the ‘80s!!! 😊
We each have our unique likes and dislikes and that's what makes us special. You be you! I've been going through a gray phase with quilt backings lately. I'm working on one now that will have a purple backing and then probably a blue backing on the next one. Hope you will subscribe to the channel to catch all those non-gray quilts!
My favorite!!!
I love the way it performs and it's easy on your pocketbook, too!

Should you use single or double thread
t
I always just used a single thread with the one end knotted.
