Just ran a little trial game with my wife, and she loved the simplicity. Can’t wait to run with more friends! So much easier to get to what really matters: fun, funny moments! Makes me want to write a setting guide for our fantasy world, exclusively for EZD6!!
Rule lawyers are the real bane of a game, we've all heard it "can't we just play the game" EZD6 does that for me !

So I've never met Scotty (ONE DAY!), but he sure seems like a super chill and fun guy that's got Bob Ross levels of easy going. I think what makes EZD6 so great aside from the genius simplicity and flow, is that his personality actually comes through the rules. The entire thing just screams (calmly) "just have fun, man." I introduced it to my dnd group and we were just laughing, giggling, and have a good ol' time the entire session. Scotty might not be physically present at your table, but the spirit of Scotty sure is, and he's making sure you have a good time. I just wish we could hurry up and finish out our 5e campaign so we could make our switch like we've been wanting to.

Never met a nicer guy or a better system. Nothing but love for Scotty. Just try this guys. I run it often even without character sheets. It’s that intuitive!

The coolest thing I'm finding with EZD6 right now is that you can take any fantasy setting like Dungeons and Dragons or Warhammer and you can "plug" it into EZD6 and it will work seamlessly ( and run better ) 😉

My D&D group have loved this sooo much more. Quick and easy to learn, good for short or long campaigns. It’s amazing! Everyone should play this!
I believe in the Player gaining greater ability to make dramatic speedy decisions over many sessions... The Player levels up their Game Play, which naturally makes their characters more adept at riding the wave of the Story unfolding.

It's so funny how I know this video was put out a year ago, but I still wanted to watch it. My top two favorite TTRPGs are this, and Shadowdark (which are like two flavors of the same genre).

Ordered and hardcover is on its way. Played a game with my kids this weekend after a quick look at the pdf and watching some plays on RUclips. Also looking if this is playable using Foundry, but never used Foundry before.
Anyway, kids had a blast, but certainly also a great game to use with adults.
Wonderful, making great memories. My adult daughter still plays and loves games.
It works VERY well with Foundry.

Switched almost exclusively to EZD6 since it was first released and loved every game. Fast and loose fit perfectly with my way of running games, and people barely ever need to look at even their character sheets, never mind the rules.
Ran my first session this Sunday, everyone had a great time! I always have lots of little ideas for adventures I want to run, but it's so daunting to make content for such a robust game like 5e, there's just a lot to account for. Playing EZD6 felt like a breath of fresh air, we'll definitely be playing more!
Know what you mean, it is hard for me to go back and run those 'workload' systems.
I can't recommend EZD6 enough! I switched my DND group over, and never looked back. We are on our third session, and not only is it easy to learn/play/run, but it's FUN. Crit chains get the whole table excited, never seen anything like it!

Character sheets, I always look at a games character sheet first, it tells me everything I need to know at a glance. You are right, a game's magic system must be good and I LOVE EZD6's magic system. Physics is about order and consistency, magic is about chaos and breaking the rules.
Agreed as usual. This has become my go-to game. The only thing I might homebrew is to somehow still make it an incentive for Conjurors to seek out magic books to learn some spells in addition to what they can already do. I mean if they can come up will all the spells on the fly what need is there to seek forbidden spell knowledge from Grimoires in dusty old tombs and such. I'm referring to spells they can learn Not spell scrolls. Those are cool too but only a one time use. Just trying to come up with a solution to this issue. Hope Scotty has a good idea. Maybe they can learn spells from other Circles of Sorcery if they find the spell books. Perhaps, ritual magic must be sought out or something. I dunno. Anyway, see ya on Dungeon Craft. - Jay

I think you are on the right track, dividing magic into circles or schools, e.g. Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light, Spirit, and limiting casters so they have to find a mentor or books to improve their knowledge of magic, which might allow the wizard to cast spells from different schools or more powerful spells or to get more power the PC must make a Faustian bargain. Lot's of possibilities here.

Just ordered me a copy. I LOVE the way you've approached this. The fat has been well and truly cut, leaving a lean, fun game. The hardest thing, though, is convincing my friends to try a new system...
My advice is to pick a cool one-shot and run it for them. The beauty of the game shines in play. One play and most groups are easy to convince. Also, learning many new games is like taking a college course, and most people don't have time for that. EZD6 circumvents that with ease of use.

I switched before the mess with the Evil corp. Do I still have the books for the Evil Corp's game? Yes but only as reference. EZD6 has been such a joy to play that I just can't imagine not playing it at this point and I've been playing TTRPG's since I was 14 so 36 years now
I feel the need to start putting out my thoughts into the etherverse about the hobby and how the internet and big companies have transformed much of what we love into cold heartless money milkers. And also breaking down the barriers of our hobby so it’s accessible to anyone and for a new generation to hop onto. Let’s see how this goes 😂
I have been aggressively converting 5th ed GMs to EZD6. It's fantastic, and there's never been a better time to switch to such a gaming-friendly system.

Leveling is so funny. As it’s all relative. As you level so dose the world around you so it’s same same. But as players we love to see our characters power grow. It’s pretty funny.

Creating characters can be a lot of fun, and a Session 0 is great if you're going to do a full campaign. But if you just want to pick up and play, most rpg's make that impossible to do quickly. I've had countless pick-up games fail to really go anywhere because we ran out of time to play, and that 30 minutes to an hour of *basic* character creation was often part of the problem, especially with noobs. This system looks great for all that and more.
It is. 10-minute character creation and learn as you play.
Thanks DM Scotty! I ordered the book. When through the PDF, looks very fun and something what might get my family and friends interested into ttrpg. They did get turned off from a more rules heavy system when they reseated the rules after a simplified version.
Also looking forward if my current players embrace the switch 😁🤞

I feel they are all just slightly different 'clones' of DnD, with no real innovation and all the same problems, but we shall see.
EZD6 is my group's go-to system for one-shots.
I grabbed the EZD6 hardback and pdf when they first came out. Have not regretted it yet!

I started playing ttrpgs back in 1981, I have played many systems, IMO EZD6 is what happens if you evaporate all the things that slow down game play and just leave the best bits. I have not played a game save ICPRG where it is in the players hands to figure out how to do things w/o feeling like the overcomplicated character sheet is a jail, preventing a player from a creative solution to the conflict/problem. A spell from a spell list limits what the player can do. EZd6 gives players the freedom to make any character they want and frees the GM to create the challenges that allow that player to fulfill their fantasy.

I love this game.
I love the EZD6 system, had a blast with a few one shots, but my biggest issue with EZD6 is the same issue I have with ICRPG which is a lack of official developer content. I understand these games are meant for creativity but I would love a big ass monster manual, pre-made campaigns etc.

The more I look into this it keeps getting more and more interesting. I am going to get this game and try it out for my games. I have been wanting to get into a sci fi game and all the games based around that genre have been too many rules to learn and too much bookkeeping. I have been playing D&D since the red box and AD&D and have owned and played all versions since then.

Scotty, I absolutely love EZD6. I have switched over completely as in my opinion is the best TTRPG in my library hands down. Just a quick question. If Conjurors can come up with all of their spells on the fly for me that removes some of the incentive to seek out old grimoires in old tombs and dungeons so they can learn new spells. I know they can still seek magic items and scrolls for a one time use which are also have been better done in this game than any other I've seen. I'm just looking to give them incentive to gain more spell knowledge. Perhaps ritual magic must be sought out or spells they can learn from other Circles. I'm not sure. I would appreciate any advice Scotty might have on this as he has likely dealt with this as the games creator. Thanks.
I love players gaining upgrades from ingame activities, and seeking out 'extra' spells is a cool way to excite a Conjurer player. These could be specific 'like scrolls' but permanent additions to a Conjurer. A good reason to quest.

Any thoughts on adding some social aspects/skills? One character in my mind is a socialite that struts through the royal courts, a wheeler/dealer type but I couldn't see any skill or perk on the pdf that could relate to it.
I mostly RP that sort of stuff and, as a RR give consideration to social characters in my RP. Aspect slots are perfect for that sort of character info.

Anything that gets people to ditch WoTC is fine with me, but not because of the OGL controversy or the quality of their games. I couldn't care less about OGL and I think their games are mostly pretty good. But they actively hate most of their customers and have no problem telling everyone about it for the sake of virtue signaling and Hasbro's ESG rating. Don't do business with people that hate you. Ditch WoTC - without respect, we reject.

Everyone seems to be forgetting wizards is not d&d the community is. I'll keep playing d&d thank you. Not getting in this fanwagon that suddenly d&d is bad because a company and their bigwigs wanted to grease more money out. D&d didn't do that, wizards did. Wizards did not invent d&d, they bought it. It never was and never has been theirs.
Although not my fav system (mine is, of course), you are right. DnD is not bad, but the people who pull their strings are.
