I certainly learned that I could handle tough times when my first husband was killed in Viet Nam and I was pregnant with our second daughter and also when my second husband of 50 years suffered from dementia for seven years before he passed away. The saying “ what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger “ is so very true.

That awful war! Our soldiers didn’t come home to a hero’s welcome. My first husband was drafted into it after college. I was 5 years younger and heart broken they took him away.
War is a horrible thing. Even now, everyone says they support them, then they turn on them very quickly when they don’t better quick enough for everyone’s liking, it happened to my son. And it’s been horrible how ppl turned their backs
I am lifting you both up in prayer. Please take great care of yourself Nanny. You remind me of my mother. She is 15 yrs young than my father. She has devoted her married life to my fathers care. He passed away at a blessed 91 yrs old. And her health was actually worse than his but she has been so devoted to his care she didn't complain or notice. Shortly after he passed she became ill and by the grace of God I've been able to be here with her 24/7. She is finally healthy and enjoying some peace and relaxation . Please take it easy on yourself. /My mother thought she was perfectly fine until she wasn't and she is a very strong lady. God bless you both

Hi Nanny, had a horrible week last week. After a great thunder storm last Tuesday night, I lost power, my home generator, broke, my phone line was down for three days and I ended up losing a laptop and another device from the power surge.Only today things hare coming back into proper function.. Sorry to hear about your own ordeal and health concerns with your Moose. Glad to hear things are getting better. I just love your videos, love shamu and hopefully ghost will find a better place for him .Keeping you and your Moose in my prayers for Gods protection, safety and good health, through His only begotten Son Christ Jesus♥🍃 I pray this for you both.🍃 Amen!🍃

Im so glad I found you this morning, Nanny. Your videos are inspirational in so many more ways than you probably don’t realize. My mom is 73 this year and let me say from my point of view, (I’m her firstborn, 55yo, I was widowed at 32, I’m a long term recovering addict /alcoholic, like my mother who’s been sober since 1990) women are the main strength in any family. We tend to live longer and therefore the likelihood of having multiple life partners is greater for women, sometimes tragedy lays us bare, but it doesn’t put us out of the game. My mom has a very positive viewpoint. She’s taught me about patience, about seeing the good, in people and situations, before the bad. My step dad of 45 yrs passed five years ago, and she started dating within the second year. She’s had a couple of boyfriends and some ups n downs. She says we always need something to look forward to. She lives this way and want her to see how her life inspires. I’m going to see what she thinks of making her own RUclips channel.

Moosie is feeling great which makes me so relieved and thrilled. He has the most endearing smile I have ever seen and when he smiles that sweet (Moosie) smile, I could just melt he is so loveable and such a fine gentleman....give him a great big old southern lady 'bear-hug' from me!!!! And, you too sweet, darling Nanny....oh my, It was so strong of you what you had to go through getting Moosie to the hospital, and thank goodness you faired well, but, It was also very plain that, yes, you too dear lady, go through what we all do at times, and I'm so sorry that it was such a worry to you and got you understandably worried and shaken. But, it has all worked out and so grateful for that for both of you. And, too, I am so relieved that your daughter will be taking the cat and let Shamu have his home back as it was. Of course, you did a wonderfully kindhearted deed to take Ghost in, but who would have known it would not have gone well....it was just one of those things and the situation will be best for all, I am sure. So glad that Moose is on the mend after his recent hospital visit and covid incident. He looks so much better than the last time we saw him. I know how frustrating you both must have been after the Dr. told you that he tested positive. One thing I've noticed on the home test kits that we were all given is that they have a short shelf life. Our home test kits that we received expired after only 3 months. I had to reorder several more from the CDC.
I do like the eyeglass accessories. I remember our school librarian always wore them and they were always different depending on her outfit of the day. They certainly would be a deterrent from constantly losing one's glasses. Your Autumn outfit looks beautiful on you. Take care of Moose and yourself. God Bless
Dear Nanny, I'm back to visit with you and Moosie and I realize I have missed so much. My my time away was necessary (multiple major repairs to our home for nine full months while my husband and I remained in the home) because just because - too long of a story - !! I am happy to see that you and Moosie are doing great and it's so good to see you both and you both look fantastic. You and Moosie are strong people and so inspiring. Nanny I am so glad and thank God Moosie is ok. I have heard about long haulers testing positive for months after having Covid despite being asymptomatic. I am so happy he is ok and you can now relax and breathe. Loved the clothes and the eye glass holders are adorable. I would wear it because it is youthful and cheery like you! Last February, we too called the paramedics in the wee hours. My husband was taken away, tested positive for Covid and stayed in hospital for a week in which time it turns out he had a bowel obstruction. My granddaughter also tested positive and had a mild cold. I tested negative clear through it all. Glad all is well!

He would either fall, run a very high temp, etc. He had rheumatoid arthritis. I just lost him in December of 2021. I agree with you about the EMS workers. T hey are wonderful. Moose looks great. Tip: your face in mornings need less Oily products for makeup , because our skin is warm and makeup will melt and smear underneath Eyes !

I'm really glad Margie is taking Ghost. He is a darling! There is nothing wrong with him. He is just a male cat. You could turn it around and say that it is quite unusual for a young male ferral cat to be able to function for such a long time along with another male ferral cat..

Oh dear, Nanny, I am so sorry that Moose and you are having a difficult time. Yes, I for one have mentioned that I want to hear the reality of life. I feel that your videos represent senior living. As seniors, we all know that the golden years are tarnished! Aging is not for sissies! That said, you navigate the aging process remarkably well. You still drive, are relatively healthy and most importantly, active physically and mentally. I have been concerned about you both being around family recently. It is important to see family and friends however we risk being exposed to a variety of illnesses. They are already warning of the severity of the flu this year. I hope and pray that you don’t catch this from Moose. Moose please know that we love you and wish you well. Oh how I wish that I could get out to Walmart. You find so many wonderful things there at very good prices. I am so relieved that Shamu will have his home back. Perhaps Margie can get the “bully” out of Ghost. I hope that he will be happy there and learn to play nice. I think that the gray eyeshadow goes better with your eyes, hair and skin tone. I think that a warm burgundy lipstick would be more flattering for fall. The orangish, brownish one is not as flattering as the right burgundy. The bluish burgundy for winter, spring and summer is beautiful on you. Then a slightly warmer one for fall. I personally think that the large eyeglass chain is a bit much. Did you look at Walmart? Good morning ,Sharon…Thank you so much for the blessings and concern…I never get used to these emergencies …and there have been many these past few years…but thank God Moosie comes through them like a champ…I like my other ‘staple’ lipstick, too, but the copper seemed better to me with the rusts and colors of fall…when I wear the burgundy shirt the deep mauve will be better. @@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose no we don’t get used to the emergencies. We are thankful for the fire department though. They are wonderful people. I don’t know how many times they have been here between my husband and myself. Thank goodness Moose is fine. He has had so many issues in the last several years. Which means that you have also. When a loved one is ill we are worried and stressed. It is frightening. I am wondering if some people can “carry” Covid without having symptoms. That way they expose us without anyone knowing. They don’t even know that they have it. My son had it and said that the new variant is milder. His second time having it. He had it early on in the pandemic. I still double mask when out. Especially in the ride share cars. I don’t wear it outside but still keep a little distance. Have a good day and stay cool. Love you 🌸💕🌷

Some things aren’t perfect but you guys are pretty close to it. Thank God things are better,I’ve been were you are my husband had a very bad heart condition he was in the hospital for a heart replacement,but he didn’t qualify for one .He took it better then I did it was an awful time so home we went and realized that that’s were we wanted to be my children were wonderful with us .He was only 56 That was 29 years ago I miss him every day so you are so lucky to have Moosie enjoy every minute and day .Love you both ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nanny thank you for sharing. We all have our ups and downs. So glad Moose is doing better. Been through many trips to the hospital over the years with family and children. Lost my younger son in March 2018. My older son lives with me permanently since 2013. He is 58 and on disability. I just had my 79th birthday Sept 11th. I have been divorced since my early 30s. So I have had to work hard and retired twice. My second retirement was at age 67. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimers at age 75. My dad had a stroke at age 85. Lost my dad at age 86 1999. Lost my mom at age 87 2002. Lost my oldest sister at age 72 from ovarian cancer in 2007.
Lost my son at age 47 in 2018. I feel like I am a survivor....I have two precious great grands. Two grown adult grandchildren. (A granddaughter and a grandson) a grown God granddaughter. A 13 yr old God granddaughter.
A precious thoughtful loving God Daughter.
So even with my heart broken by losing my family members so many times, especially losing my son, I still count my Blessings and feel very thankful to be alive and still get to enjoy all of my living family members. They keep me strong along with my Heavenly Father and Savior. Nanny you always make me smile when I watch your videos. I love to see you modeling your outfits...putting on your make-up. You and Moose spending time with your family. You never fail to amaze me. I so admire you so very much. Glad you were able to get your cat Ghost another home. Less problems now with just Shamu.
I just can't say enough great things about you Nanny. But watching you and Moose on your videos have made me love you both. I sometimes get busy and might miss a few videos but try to go back and catch up.
I wish we didn't live so far apart as I would love to meet you both in person and take you to lunch or dinner but you're in California and I am in Florida.

I had Covid this past July and I think I still have lingering effects as well. Nothing major but I had lost my appetite and I'm still having a problem with that. Darn Covid!!! I love so much the content of your videos and we would like to see express your hardships as well as your good times. This is life and what makes us human. I'm going through a tough time myself these days. My daughter was diagnosed with stage 3 analrectal cancer recently and she will be having aggressive treatment. I am afraid but I look to God for support. Just want you to know the good you bring to your videos. It makes me feel like I know you!! Please give Moosie hugs and tell him hello for me.
