Thank you! There is one of our Spawn 7.5mm tungsten Football beads on there. Roughly 2 grams of weight! That's a hefty bead and once the "eggs" get saturated it's a very heavy fly.
I tied a handfull of these as a large egg pattern for dredging deep deep holes on the big erie tribs and have yet to pull one in on em.... too much hook or too much weight maybe im not sure. I think its also easy to overdo the polar chenille... Otherwise you tie one of these up & when its wet it looks just like a fat chunk of skein idk how they dont get smoked.
Have a smaller pattern similar to this that I tied for steelhead and browns in Ontario tribs, worked in chocolate milk and dirty water but also when the salmon egg drops.
Materials List: Trailer Hook: Ahrex XO774 sz8 Front Shank: Spawn 60* Micro Jig Shank Thread: Uni 6/0 Red Weighted Wire: Non Lead .020 Bead: Spawn Football Bead 7.5mm Silver Eggs: Glo Bug Yarn Peachy King and Alaskan Roe Head Cement: Loon Hard Head
I’m new to fly tying and look forward to trying this pattern for myself. Thank you
Awesome! Have fun with it!
Wow that looks awsome im definitely gonna be doin some of these up
Thank you!
Nice job. Thanks.
Do you ever weight these flies? It seems like this fly could be pretty buoyant and might need a little help getting it down.

Awesome! Can't wait!
Amazing work guys. Thanks.
Thank you!
Oh that looks so good. I’m gonna down size the barrel bead for Erie trib steelhead and give it a shot. I’ll let you know
Sounds like a winner! Thanks for watching!

@@tomaszsmolka3737 probably works better in dirty water. In clear water, a small McFlyfoam egg is a better option

Would mcfly foam be an okay substitute?
It would, but it will try to bunch up just a touch. Might have to use slightly less material, but should be fine!
Nice. Looks like a nasty glob of skein
Thank you!
That's 🔥🔥🔥🔥glad I found your channel

@@SpawnFlyFish thanks!!!
Missed opportunity to say “egg-cellent flies”
If I'm a steelhead...I'd go for it...
Thank you!
15mm or 20mm shank?
I tie them on both. Just depends on how many eggs you want in front, but 20mm is definitely easier to work with!

Thank you.
Did this work for anyone?
Yep!
It works very well haha!
Way to much work for a sucker spawn
Dirty...
Very 😬😬
@@SpawnFlyFish Suggest using pencil eraser for the hook point. Office supply places have them for mechanical pencils.
