- "Unintentional Weight loss is defined by a 5% reduction of usual body weight over 6-12 months. It is associated with increase mortality rates. The most common cause of unintentional weight are increased expenditure or reduced dietary intake.
Unintentional weight loss should away raise suspicion of malignancy. Other non malignant causes can be due to maldigestion or malabsoprtion, endocrinopathies, psychiatric conditions or medications."

I had sudden nausea, vomitting and loss of appetite in June 2021 and lost 30lbs in 10 months. I have Celiac Disease, PTSD, Diabetes type2, and Anxiety. Within this time to April 2022, my symptoms identified with Lupus and second round of testing showed higher ANA levels looking suspicious with changes, will be seeing my Rhumatologist again in December. I am finally going to have a colonoscopy in a few days that I had been asking for, long wait. I had weighed before weight loss 153lbs (June 2021) and now 117lbs (October 2022). I had chronic pain and Fibromyalgia for years. I have no solid leads for this weight loss and hope to know more very soon. Have not been tested for any Cancer as I just feel I'm just wasting away and doctors haven't been available for me since Covid. Now I'm finally having my appointments, I've been fighting for attention, but doctors not as available. Is it too late?
Suzanne are you having symptoms of rectal bleeding. There is a lot of blood test you can take as well along with colonoscopy. CEA blood test for colon cancer it's a tumor marker. How's your liver function and levels?

Always consider bipolar disorder under the psychiatric causes, due to the hypomanic or manic states.

Have found for me that taking B12 (with a B's) or eating liver/onions/greens seems to help for appetite. Ginger, garlic... helps. Working on digestion also. Am geri., may walk to much, trying to gain back more muscle (maybe malsorbtion, endo).
My lack of sleep during the past five years has been caused by a new, stressful work that I started five years ago. Another thing to notice is that my girlfriend and I moved in together about the same time she had a 10-year history of weight loss. I have undergone a complete physical examination, but they were unable to identify the reason for my 40-pound weight drop. One of the symltom i get from time to time is i get lain in my stomach on my right upper side of my stomach. Could you please tell me on what could be causing my weight loss all over my body?
I'm not understanding MY unintentional weight loss. I'm a 5'6 man and I was weighed at my doctors in March 2022 at 141lbs. I noticed weight loss and was weighed at my doctors in March 2023 at 119lbs and since then (It's now early November 2023) I am now down to 106lbs. But here's the thing...I don't exercise AT ALL and I've been eating 3000-3500 calories every single day during this weight loss.
I truly hope you found an answer that resolved the health problem... I'm so tired of searching for the answer so I can get my life back..

There are so many causes of unintentional weight loss. Unfortunately they straight away think it must be CANCER and CT- scans are ordered too often even before the lab results are there. Just because someone is old, doesn't mean unnecessary radiation can't hurt them... (what I see every day)

oh you must be a man. ive lost almost 100 lbs now after being sick for 13 years and my doctors dont care because im young and female. sometimes i wonder if ill die in my sleep or collapse in public, or if i should try to travel for medical euthanasia before my mobility gets any worse

I've noticed a slight weight loss too. My diet hasn't changed, I still have great appetite. I'm a bit concerned and nervous though...
I loss 8kgs had a PET CT SCAN FDG, Colonoscopy and Endoscopy last year all normal just GERD.
Noom turned up here...I'm 37 kg and I lose two more I go to hospital. I have an underactive thyroid. I refuse to take my thyroid meds now. Doctor thinks it's stress I had eaten plenty. I'd had plenty of people calling me fat and mentioning things I was scared of. My weight just awful. What's worse is its actually worse than that as I got to an accurate scale. And it's below 34 kg.
