I love that not only are those in the game, but "death," "fear," and "blood" are all in a row in the same level. And then "killed" shortly after that.They knew what they were doing.
Is this stuff only present on difficulty level 3? Because if it’s on level 1, this game is pure evil.
@@rodrickgoldberg2324 Yeah, it's only on level 3. I guess level 3 is for all those edgy kids. The "narrator" has a much more excited, high-pitched voice on the earlier levels too.

9:52 Magician over here foreshadowing that he's really evil...I think. I don't know, they're not very clear on if that Magician in Origins and Legends is the same as this one or not. Rayman has surprisingly confusing lore.

To be fair, their audio was quite crusty (as it was “sss as in cheese”, meaning Poison was the answer)

oh my GOD the segment at 9:50 had me in tears. Watching you lose to the same unfair surprises and brutality of the original Rayman, but in an educational game for babies is too dang funny. And then the "with death, with fear, with blood"... my gosh. I actually had to wipe my eyes.
This is as great a video as ever, AntDude. Great collabs with Nitro too! I enjoy what you do so much. It really lifts my spirits watching an Ant video.

I'm watching this video after the Rayman Arena video and I really love how the jokes in each of these videos parallel each other but my favourite thing is Nitro Rad making a Pulp Fiction reference in each of them, it's just subtle enough that it feels like an easter egg

You know for what it's worth, the fact that the gameplay is literally Rayman with some learning is actually incredible to me. Most edutainment games based around the worlds of licensed characters tend to play nothing like any game from that character's series. But this one straight up feels like someone just created a mod for Rayman or rewrote it, much like how we have Rayman Redemption today. And it was still as brutal to play as the original was.
Also remember the Kid to Adult Rating (K-A)?

French with Rayman is a UK & Germany exclusive version of English with Rayman that teaches French instead of English.
Rayman Junior is just the PAL Version of Brain Games

Antdude and Nitro Rad kind of remind me of Odd Della Robbia and Ulrich Stern from "Code Lyoko." They even look and act like them too.
Antdude has dark hair like Ulrich, and Nitro Rad having blond hair and a purple hoodie just like Odd. It makes sense.
This is like the cross over with Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Odd Parents
I think I see why the more better known 3D design of Rayman has the hair actually part of his head instead of being some kind of headpiece, 'cus I think all the kids who saw bald Rayman chasing his own magic flying hair were met with nightmare fuel and just turned the game off soon after they saw it

Rayman Pirate Community’s RayWiki is a good source for info on the educational games. Brain Games is actually the same game as Rayman Junior and the extra lives don’t appear in the game entirely because of a glitch in the programming which is why they’re mentioned in the manual despite not appearing.

FYI Rayman Junior and Rayman Brain Games are the same game. Rayman Junior is simply the European title, and maybe I'm just biased because I'm from the UK, but I actually like Rayman Junior better as a title. Rayman Brain Games sounds like it'd be an educational minigame compilation, whereas Rayman Junior describes exactly what the game is. It's Rayman... Junior.

I had this as a kid. Multiple separate PlayStation discs sorted by Level and Math/English. They were in German. I always felt silly for never beating it, but now I know I'm not the only one!

I'm in tears of laughter... I had the "my first rayman" game as a child and all i remember is me wanting to eat the purple earaser and cutting my hand on a coloring page you could print out.
Rayman Designer(also called Rayman Gold/Forever) needs a review, nobody ever talks about it.
It's pretty rare that I laugh out loud to a video. It's even rarer that the first gag of the video gets me to do that. The lime green comic sans desktop background was an amazing touch. I was hoping for some kind of response, but a collab was beyond my wildest dreams. Gotta love my two favorite channels coming together.

No, Mr. Dark is an entirly diffrent charecter, Magician (real name Ales Mansay) is just Dark's #1 fan and has been fallowing him after he had enough of other teensies (You know, the origins ret-con and all that) picking on him for his lack of magic powers and went rouge, this is gatherd from unused dialogue from Ales himself and the meny posters that can be seen in the background of his office during Moody Cloud, one of witch say's "I heart Mr. D"
Also Dark is back, and he's never looked cooler! (also he's got no limbs, witch is odd for him to keep that trait while almost everyone else from the first game who has returned was given limbs in origins, maybe Rayman and Mr. Dark are closer linked then we first thought...)

This Christmas Present came 7 days early and I couldn't be happier. Here is hoping for more collabs in the future
So, as a kid we had this game at home. Yet we had no sound on our (only) computer. We always had to guess what route to pick, trying to remember the route that got us there.
My sister managed to reach the final level. I can't remember if she beat it.
Funny how Nitro Rad's lighting/color grading is slightly magenta while AntDude's is at the opposite end of the spectrum with a greenish tint. They're the yin-yang of platform game reviewers.

I remember having both this game and the original Rayman as a kid. I haven't really heard anyone talk about Brain Games though, so was glad to see this!
I used to think that this game did a good job of making an edutainment title have real gameplay. But I didn't remember all the frustrating trickery. The original Rayman had a lot of that trial-and-error nonsense with obstacles appearing out of nowhere too, though. Guess they wanted to give kids the full Rayman experience!
