Just bought a 1994 Davison ultra classic Electra glide with 50k miles the evo engine , runs good but she’s a leaker . Your videos are haven send thanks and mom saids hi lol
Watching you work with motorcycles and being ok with mistakes you make and with things you can't remember is therapeutic to me. Makes me feel relaxed and helps me be calm while working through problems on my own project bike
Just got back home from a trip to North Carolina on my 98 Heritage. Heads are leaking oil and gonna do a top end and new cam over the winter. Thanks for the video! Great job explaining everything.
Wow best video I’ve seen on this subject to date. The coverage of the why/how taking tension off rocker arms/springs is especially well done. Thanks for posting!!
Yes. That’s a question I asked myself after the fact. Ha. That would have been the best approach but I left the petcock line attached due to the crimp connector that was on the petcock and because I had to remove the cross over hose anyways I just went that route. But yes, usually you can just remove the petcock hose and drain fuel there. That’s why I love all our subscribers. Always improving upon my mistakes! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I really appreciate this video,,I will do this soon, been working on trying to get forks out of upper tree on my 96 Flhtcui,,150 10 lb hammer blows and it's out.been on lift for 3 months ,parts are slow to get here
@@butlercustoms .... absolutely. This bike was bought purely to tinker with. Honestly didn't even think I would like it... being my first BIG HD... I flipping love it !!!!.
@@jazzsounds8159 if you do it yourself you will have around $200 to $300 in parts depending on what all needs to be replaced due to wear. If you take it to a shop it’s usually $1000 for labor and parts.

You are like the Bob Ross of motorcycle mechanics.
I think that’s the best complement I’ve ever gotten on here! Thank you for that.
Great job getting ready for my first evo apart
Awesome! Best wishes to your repairs!! Thanks for watching.

Why didn’t you extend the hose that came from the petcock to drain the fuel tank?😀 greetings from Holland🇳🇱

I could’ve saved $20,000 in tuition for bike school of this channel existed back in 2004 😂
I’ve always been a firm believer that apprenticeships are the best way to learn.
My 97 roadking sure does appreciate this video.... she was getting nervous
I’m glad it was able to help you out! Thanks for watching!
Definitely. Old Triumphs I don't have a problem with. These are a new thing for me !

My 96 Electra Glide Classic with 37k has leaking base gaskets. 😢
Yep. About 40k is all those stock base gaskets last.
@@butlercustoms is it expensive to repair? I just bought it and rode it 125 miles and noticed it leaking.

1st thing, you should have cleaned up your bike.
It’s not mine. It’s a customers. Some like them dirty. Ha
U know u could've jut drained the gas thru the petcock🤦♂️🤦♂️
Yep. I got used to the fuel injections and forget the simple stuff sometimes. That’s what makes it fun in the shop. Ha
And that’s petcock had the vacuum valve on it anyways.
that is NOT a 1 pc tank.... geezzz its 2 pc
No. It was a one piece tank on this bike.
Softail of that year had split tanks but the Glides had a one piece like on this one.
