- Let's talk about the elephant in the room - or should I say, the spider on the wall. I don't know. What Spider-Man desperately needs right now isn't another trip through the multiverse or a team-up with the Avengers. What he needs is a return to his roots, a chance to be the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man we all know and love.

We were about to get the grounded Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man but SONY saw the success of the previous film and thought: "Hm, this movie made big money. Fans loved it! We should recreate it!" NO! It was special because it was a once in a lifetime experience. Deadpool 4 won't be "Deadpool & Wolverine 2" because it's a once in a lifetime event.

Civil War and Homecoming was a good start. But infinity war and subsequently endgame/far from home fucked over. Homecoming showed a Peter who was coming of age, and a freindly neighborhood Spider-Man who looked out for the little guy. Nwh finally clutched up and provided this, with an even better suit. Sony sees the backlash and is taking notes. Until the trailer comes out, in my head Spider-Man 4 is street level
Spider-Man in Civil War started with him teaming with the Avengers, Ultimate and 616 comics had him teaming up with S.H.I.E.L.D., fighting the F4, facing an “alien threat” in his second issue, etc. It still was a coming of age story but it’s about a superhero who faces things in the MCU.
You know, i too love grounded problemladen peter. But i am also aware of the fact that that is not all he is, he is so much more than that. And i find it sad that "fans" decide ths problemladen guy is everything he is allowed to be, or else what he does is bad.
He has so much more to offer, and i feel like the starry eyed starter hero having to learn what responsibility means in a world like the mcu was very well done every step of the way. I find it sad that its discounted as "not really spiderman" or "bad takes", just because its not the one aspect of spiderman that some people want to see in him.
Because by that logic, so many great stories of his can never be told without being incessantly criticized or hated.
I agree he is more than that and I think in the MCU based on his Avengers appearances + No Way Home we've seen a lot of that to the point where we haven't seen anywhere as much of the grounded problemladen peter parker that his whole character is built off.
i disagree in that fans want this because they think that's all he his. fans wan't this because all theyve gotten from peter is the large scale shit and we havent seen any meaningful street level shit besides him saving his friends at the washington monuement. i know secret wars is going to be a fire movie with toms spiderman playing a large over-arching role but he needs the street time too. its all about balance and the scales are way too tipped rn in my opinion
My hope is they’ll go for the grounded Spiderman after the multiverse saga, like part of their negotiation was that Marvel would get to do that film. But we’ll seeee
I understand but since this is the multiverse Saga it’s was bound to happen. We won’t get a grounded movie until after the multiverse saga ends after Secret Wars. We shouldn’t throw out a possibility that spider man 4 could be a great movie about spider man. Spider Man into the spider verse gave us a great relatable spider movie even when it was multiverse hoping. I understand why people are upset but we just going to have to wait until spider man 5

i also feel peter should be alone in the next one even with no heros. it would really fun to have another live action spidey film that doesnt have the avengers/marvel heros, and will finally let tom stand his own. and then maybe the fifth movie you can do daredevil and spidey teaming up. and if you really want to u can make movie 6 another spider verse event. but i think it would just be better to just give andrew and tobey solo movies of their own rather then appearing in toms solo movies, alongside some occasional mcu appearances.

If the next Spider-Man movie has the multiverse I am literally not going to watch an MCU movie ever again. The MCU is literally in the toilet right now it's just not worth it. I'm holding out hope for a grounded movie because I hate these convoluted disjointed plots.
Be honest with yourself the mcu only has like 3 good movies the first Ironman,the first Thanos movie and winter soldier, the rest were generic .oh and civil war too

Why wouldn't it? It's sandwiched between two Avengers movies that are going to deal with multiverse and Spider-Man might appear in those films. If anything, you should be mad at Sony for not putting the movie out two years ago.

I'm REALLY praying all those multiverse rumors about Spider-Man 4 are just fake news articles/grifters trying to rile everyone up and we actually do end up getting that street-level story.
I get what he wants to say, and even I want that...
But I guess there's very little hope for it as Spiderman 4 is going to be sandwiched between Doomsday and Secret Wars... Both of which are going to be multiversal level movies... And Spidey is gonna play an important role in the movie... So I doubt that Spiderman 4 is going to be grounded 😢
I don't really see the problem. We don't know how much the multiverse will play into this film. It seems like the only multiversal thing is that it venom is gonna be in it and it will most likely be on battle world. It's like saying the spider verse films were bad just because they featured the multiverse

I don't mind if spider-man 4 is a multiversal movie but the chances of it, sticking the landing is I don't know, I have nothing to say. This movie will definitely split the fanbase for sure, some will love or hate it, if these rumours are true. I use to defend this before but now I see the flaws and worries of this movie. It's just a mixed bag for me especially with Avengers doomsday as rdj is playing doctor doom. It just shows desperation at this point, now it's up to the fanbase to not vote with their wallets if they're serious about this movie. I just hope the rumours are not 100% true and it's made by a hater of the mcu or something, someone or something is definitely wanting us to hate superhero movies both studios and the aggressive ppl in the fanbase.

Im agree, multiverse big minus,we don't know yet if its would be disaster but its clearly would be harder continue character development then grounded story with kingpin and daredevil. Sony too greedy and two avengers make ground story impossible. Will see but rn all rumors looks bad for spiderman

I really want a spider man movie where we see Peter on his own getting his life back together with him getting a job trying to get his name back into the public go to college him not relaying on the avengers or his friends for the first movie in the second trilogy have king pin set up as the big bad then in second movie we see him team up with other heros on his level daredevil Hawkeye or other street level heros that doesn't treat Peter as kid but as an actual hero despite who they think is under the mask have sequel trilogy really question how good he had it but mess up for himself cause he wasn't being responsible enough and all his friends and heros he shared memories he can't get back cause of what he did it an emotional Stress over what he lost while also having struggle with him getting him get life back together but is to scare to be close with people outside of life of spider man cause he too.scare of the same thing being careful of other heroes he trust so that back stab at the alll this building up inside him to where he becomes Depress. Just realizing how terrible his life is this man went through his parents leaving him to them probably never coming back for him cause they either died to seeing his uncle get shot him dying and coming years later only to see his father figure his mentor he look up to dye and then his aunt may die and him losing everything

I’m sorry, but if you paid to see Deadpool and Wolverine, don’t complain and blame yourself. It was planned to be a street level civil war style film and we didn’t get that because Sony and Disney saw it made money and stopped arguing about it. So we’re getting another multiversal story where Peter gets overshadowed again. It’s y’all fault lol. 😂😂
