That is why I love the current Wonder Woman run. The Trinity stories at the end exploring their kids growing up as siblings is so much fun, and seeing them all as one big family is just what I need from comics
An aspect I really love about Superman and Batman dynamic is how they give each other confidence in their beliefs and faith in others. Superman shows Batman that there are good people out there who can use great power with responsability, people he can trust . Meanwhile Batman shows Clark there are people who try help the world despite not having powers like him. Batman and Superman are best when they are brothers but also have a sibling rivalry due to their different backgrounds and views. They can come into conflict with each other but when push comes to shove, they’re the only ones they really trust and get each other. The end scene from death in the family where Bruce goes to Clark for advice and to open up is a perfect depiction of their relationship
I kinda hope one day we get a moment where Clark invites Bruce and his family over for dinner and shares a meal will Clark’s family. It just feels like it’d be a nice moment.
Filmmakers have been so invested in being subversive these days that having a light-hearted Superman who has hope for humanity and is good friends with Batman feels like a rarity.
@callmejacob3234 they really demolished her part in the trinity and they butchered her mythology, made her 18, made her be in love with batman, it's just really weird, nowhere near as bad as injustice or something but it's not a good wonder woman adaptation, especially compared to the others
@@kadegetslaid634 They definitely took liberties with her mythology-- fair enough. You coulod say the same for Hawkgirl & Hawkman, I suppose. I feel like she had a pretty prominent role, all things considered. She was a clearly someone of authority among the founding members and commanded respect. It's hard to juggle an ensemble cast of 7, but she certainly had times to shine. 18? I don't know where that is coming from. I've heard people involved in the show say she's about 200 from what I remember. Her quasi-romantic relationship with Batman is controversial. I understand. I won't defend it here, either, but it was based on a mutual respect and camaraderie. As colleagues, I don't see an issue with that, personally. What would you say is the best WW adaptation? Darkside comes back and it's the first time Superman has seen him again since he had to power through some deeply traumatizing experiences the villain put him through, So he's is not quite acting like himself. He's making choices that he wouldn't if his mind wasn't clouded by anger and past horrific events. Batman (Kinda harshly but over all giving him the push he needs) guides him to making better choice as they go through a mission. Choices that he knows Supes WOULD make if he were thinking more clearly. Near the end, Superman is ready to sacrifice himself just to make sure Darkside will stay gone and Batman sneaks up behind him and forces them both to teleport to safety against Superman's wishes, leaving Darkside's fate a bit more ambiguous but getting everyone out alive and well. THAT is what I want from their partnership. Batman has tried to kill Joker many times what do you mean? The only reason Joker is alive is because of his popularity. Every time Batman tries to kill Joker someone stops him. Superman literally stopped Batman from killing Joker so him killing Joker in Injustice is pretty hypocritical.

Batman and Superman have had a mutual friendship/brother relationship for over 40 years. There's even several comics that have them raised as brothers. In the Kingdom Come series Superman asks Bruce to be the godfather of his child. Superman has been shown to understand why Batman is wary of super powered beings and Batman has on multiple occasions to proclaime his respect for Superman and considering him a friend just not outwardly expressing it.
There are a couple things that live action Batman desparately needs. First they need to bring back Robin (and do it well), and after that they can show his and Superman's friendship. Continuing from there, the story of the Robins goes forward, graduating Grayson to Nightwing, having Todd die, etc. Meanwhile, the Justice League is formed one member at a time, and they're not a mess of angst, depression, and brooding like we got from the last live action depiction. I honestly think the future of live action DC would be best handled through multiple concurrent TV series (like the Arrowverse but done better and with a higher budget), not movies. Movies just don't give the amount of time needed to do all of these story points, let alone make them interesting. After multiple bad pieces of media where Batman and Superman fight each other, im just tired of the trope. Id prefer the heroes to be fighting like they did in Flashpoint if they have to be at odds
One of the strongest moments in the Injustice games was in Injustice 2. Regardless of if you picked Batman or Superman for the final chapter, before their final showdown, they stop and talk. They don't try to sway the other with their platitudes, they just... take the time to remember when they were a team. Remember a time when they had nothing but respect for one another, and mourn the people they were then. They take that moment to remind the audience that this isn't just a David vs. Goliath story, or a story of the chosen one defeating the evil emperor, this is a story of two best friends torn apart by a difference in their stances and forced to fight each other. I feel like Injustice forgets that at times, focusing on the spectacle of a tyrant Superman and Batman's various schemes to stop him and not enough on people who once trusted each other with their lives losing that trust.
Batman may be dark and brooding but he loves having companions that are optimistic. Hell just look at Robin as one example, because Batman may be pained but he still has a heart and a hope that the world can become a safer place. Bruce isn't constantly depressed, he can and does lighten up frequently
I understand why writers and directors want to focus on contention between Batman and Superman. They do have quite different worldviews after all. Superman and the Flash believe in offering hope and a way out to villains, whereas Batman figures that being a symbol of fear for villains and criminals is the better path. Superman may not agree with the way Batman treats criminals in Gotham. Batman may think Superman places too much faith in people as well as the system. But, this is why we can make the point that as powerful as Superman is, he'd never be able to clean up and secure Gotham, since Gotham responds to Batman with even more hardened and more powerful villains. Imagine how it would respond to Superman. Similarly, the soul of Metropolis wouldn't respond well to Batman's fear tactics. Metropolis doesn't need a symbol of fear to ward off the criminal element and drive them into secrecy and paranoia. It requires a symbol of light and hope, someone that can represent a better path forward; the people of Metropolis don't live in a poverty ridden hellscape where the city itself seems to be alive in a very sinister way, as if it wants to descend further into darkness. I think the main difference is that Metropolis is just buildings and it is the people that make it a city. But Gotham is alive, it has a soul, a soul intent on self destruction. Its landscapes and architecture feel alive and malevolent. Try to imagine Gotham with no people inside of it. It still feels alive, in a morbid way, but it feels like it is watching you, you can feel its presence. Try to imagine Metropolis without people. It feels like a bunch of empty buildings, kind of like the city in I Am Legend. Now, when it comes to BvS scenarios, you can do that. But you can't do it as the foundation of their first encounter with one another. Batman and Superman's first encounter can be based on skepticism and distrust, yes, but not outright war. Especially from Batman's perspective. Batman is much smarter than that. Conflict between Batman and Superman can only happen when there is a long term friendship to break. Much more impactful when there is this deep relationship that becomes staggered by events out of their control or one of the characters veering from their character. Injustice has its faults, for one, it doesn't understand Superman. But it did understand that the breakup had to be based off of a strong brotherly bond between Batman and Superman. The whole appeal of Superman v Batman is that there is something to break. Like Megatron and Optimus Prime. Like Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Like Harry Osborne and Peter Parker.
Although I agree that Batman and Superman should be friends, it never starts that way. They always start with skepticism and sometimes rivalry. But eventually they figure out that they're not as bad as they thought each other would be or that they agree that there is a common enemy they fight so they end up being besties and respectful of each other's methods.
NGL, This Video has a bunch of solid good points! I also agree that Batman vs Superman was cool at first, but I think at this point it's time to move on from it. Let's hope James Gunn makes them both friends once they get together which I'm sure he will. Also say what you want about Suicide Squad kill the Justice League and its flaws (Also, it still won't be canon to the Arkham universe from my point of view) but after Arkham Knight Superman and Batman did actually meet each other casually and teamed up just like that without fighting each other immediately.
LOVE WHEN THEY ARE FRIENDS MUCH BETTER💯WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I USED TO THINK SUPERMAN WAS TOO CAMPY LIKE EVERYBODY SAID BUT AS I GREW UP SUPERMAN ALWAYS BEING A HERO IS WHAT HIM BECOME MY FAVORITE HERE NOW💯CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT JAMES GUNN DOES WITH THE CHARACTER
Honestly, it was the first thought when I think of superhero friendship. Side note and may be a hot take but it reminded me of a favorite paring of mine for relationships more than batman and cat woman, that being batman and wonder woman. ❤
My ideal version of a Batman and Superman cartoon is where they grow up as childhood friends. Bruce finds out about his powers and thinks that he's cool. They separate around high school. only to meet up back around college. I want it to look like they're about to fight, like Bruce says "You're in my seat, farm boy." with Clark retorting with "Got a problem with that, money Bags?" all their friends get nervous like a fights gonna break out, and then the two of them burst out laughing and hug each other. They both catch up with each other back at Clark's parent's house so they can see him and see that he's doing well. The two start talking and catching up outside, and Clark shows Bruce that he's gotten a better handle on his powers saying that he learned to control them instead of being afraid of them. Clark flies around for a bit, showing off, maybe even picks Bruce up and flies him for a bit just because I think it would look funny. Bruce decides that he want's to show Clark something. Everyone was under the impression that Bruce studied abroad for high school, but he says that he's been working on something. He says that he found out that his grandparent's built a WW2 bunker under the manor, and he's been "renovating" which then we see Clarks reaction to an early stage Batcave. After gushing over how cool it is like a little kid, Clark asks why he's doing all this. Bruce looks at him and says "I could ask you the same thing. I can understand wanting control over your powers, but to that extent seems a bit extreme don't you think?" Clark laughs a bit and goes "Alright you got me." He tells Bruce that a bout a year ago, he felt like something as calling to him and he found himself at a really snowy fortress, where he learned about where he came from. He reaches into hic pocket and pulls out a metal plate symbol with what seems to be an "S" on it. He says that since he has these gifts, he wants to use them to inspire hope, and protect those who can't protect themselves. Bruce lets out a slight laugh before saying that they're in the same boat. He says that back when his parents died, he wanted nothing more than to bring the man who did it to justice. During his years of high school he truly got a good look at the dark underbelly of Gotham and saw countless innocents cowering in fear everyday of their lives. He says that he wants to reverse that fear onto the ones dishing it out. He states that he wants to become a symbol of hope for the scared, but a symbol of fear to the heartless. "I want to become something more than a man, I want criminals to look in every single dark corner of Gotham and fear that I might be watching." Bruce offers an apology to Clark saying that he might've gotten a little dark there, but Clark cuts him off saying that it works perfect for him, saying that Bruce offers a different kind of hope to people who may think Chis version of it might be seen as a little over the top. This is where they decide to become partners with each other, and we get to see them help each other design and create their suits, and become partners. Jeez I didn't expect to write that much. I guess that just goes to show how much I want it. i would have Clark voiced by Zeno Robinson with Bruce voiced by Aleks Le.
My favorite Batman-Superman Friendship moment in the DCAU is right at the end of the JLU series finale, right after Batman gives the villains a five-minute head start as a reward for helping the heroes save the world: Superman: A head start? You're getting soft in your old age. Batman: **grins** Don't you have a tall building to go leap?
Its funny because this is the dynamic i always wanted. Its what would surprise the GA because most of them have never seen it. The friendship. It was my biggest most confusing issue with Snyder. Batman and Superman are beefing and fighting and by the time Zack was done( his words and story point btw) Superman was gonna be the last one standing.
I always enjoyed “The Worlds Finest” comic books growing up and I agree they should be friends and work as a team and not be adversaries. The movie Batman V Superman was a disappointment I hope they make another better movie about them.
People think that Superman is a boring perfect character while Batman is cynical sociopath but idt that’s true. They’re supposed the example of “the optimist vs the realist”, Superman is a hopeful boyscout who grew up with human parents and wants a simpler life like humans do while Batman is a realistic crime fighter who doesn’t have any powers but has strong willpower and a moral code based off of redemption.
I remember everyone taking injustice so seriously, when as a MK fan, I took injustice the LEAST serious lmao I really didn’t get it. Kids just trying their little hearts out when to the MK fans it was just a slow tuesday
If I'd want to see happy friends I'd watch some sit-com or somethin. I just want to see that my favorite character beat the shit out of other character. That's why I read comics.
The Justice League audio logs are my favourite part of SSKTJL because it’s showing me what we could’ve got and it feels very weird hearing Arkham Batman speak to the League I felt like I was in a alternate timeline where we actually gotten a Justice League game after Arkham Knight also I would like to add that the rest of the justice League also had good chemistry with each other and I think the voice actors of that game actually did a really good job
I think it's important that Bruce in particular is given friends. People like Clark, Wally, Diana, Hal or John, and Manhunter It'd be easy for someone like Clark to have friends because he's so easy-going. But Bruce is very much the loner type because he carries a lot of damage Not only did he lose his parents, but constantly puts on the mask of a rich socialite as a cover-up and lives in a city where crime is more than common, even in the law
I never had a phase liking them but I've been made known that some people of their fandoms are shipping them for decades now. If anyone is curious; SuperBat
Is it wrong that the title made me think of "The Farmer and the Cowman (Should Be Friends)" from Oklahoma? Like, somebody ought to do a parody version of that song with Superman and Batman.
Honestly I don't see James Gunn as the Batman vs Superman type. The stories I've seen him do have had the heroes bicker, but they don't tend towards the full on battle trope that has been so prominent in superhero crossover movies in recent years.
I'd love to see Bruce in my adventures or Clark in caped crusader. I would have to be different versions but I think I could work. Batman would feel very at home in maws and I think it's been too long since we got a investigative journalist noir version of Superman. (I guess we sorta did in war world, but come on)
I like them starting as adversarial and quickly turning into friends. I think it makes sense they wouldn't get off on the right foot, but idk... Not like batman v superman.
For me, Batman should start out super skeptical of Superman. They work together or Batman joins the JL to study Superman(and the other powerful members) weaknesses and characteristics. Batman after a while sees the best of humanity in Superman, and realizes in some ways he’s more human than Bruce . This is where the friendship starts. I don’t think Gunn’s Supes and Bats should start as friends just because Superman is fairly new.
SPOILERS (in case anyone needs it) for My adventures with superman Vicky Vale did show up in a few eps of the show so it is possible she could be a tease to batman showing up to the series, and given the light hearted nature of the show i believe the two will be good friends, they might bring up other timelines like injustice but i think the two will be the best of friends.
Stop proposing that Robert Pattinson Batman should be the DCU Batman. He doesn’t fit!! He is too realistic! He isn’t fantastical!! Matt Reeves has said he hates Batman Sidekicks!! He doesn’t Meta human villains either!! I don’t want Robert Pattinson Batman to be DCU Batman!!
Unfortunate. I dont think they should be friends... They should be lovers- (I know they have their own respective love-interests, but C'mon... Edgy Brooder and Sunshine Lollipop? What is not to love in this dynamic?)
You should read world's finest I think it's the best dc title at the current time. Its odd cause it sometimes will connect to continuity, but it feels outside continuity. Good video, but I disagree about elseworlds. I don't enjoy continuity comics very much. Those comics are always interrupted by events. Nothing of consequence can happen. But the noncanonicals are great. No events! Events are the worst thing in comics. And, stuff can happen in noncanonicals, as opposed to status quo. I wish there were a lot more noncanonicals.
Both Batman and Superman need each other more than ever. Batman is able to keep Superman grounded in reality, and Superman is able to give Batman a little more hope and humanity in his life. Making them enemies just misses the point of what they are actually about.

@@AmericaChavez17 World's Finest is a billion times better than Batman vs Superman. Batman and Superman have the greatest friendship in comics. Them fighting over dumb things ruins it. Especially when a hack like Snyder is the one doing it.

That's actually quite a profound way to put it. Kudos.
I really hope they do this. I’m sick of bad writers thinking that Clark and Bruce just hate each other on main when in the comics, the two may as well be brothers. Hell, they alternate which one of their places their families spend Christmas together.

Superman and Batman have a great dynamic as friends and are better as friends than in opposition with each other.

I love when Batman & Superman act like best buds whenever they see eachother, or have friendly banter.
In some ways Bruce is basically a "Anti-Lex Luthor", a billionare genius who uses his wealth and resources to help the world instead of trying to take it over.

Batman and Superman are best when they are brothers but also have a sibling rivalry due to their different backgrounds and views. The end scene from death in the family where Bruce goes to Clark for advice and to open up is a perfect depiction of their relationship

It really was. The DCAU continues to be some of the best superhero media out there, especially for DC.
The only thing I really didn't like about the show was wonder woman, they butchered her in adaptation
@@kadegetslaid634 Please explain. I'm not saying there isn't a case for it. i just want to know your view on it.
Thanks if you take the time to read this.
I love Batman and Superman more as a duo than separate characters to be honest. I would like them to not fight each other anymore. Batman and Superman iron out the flaws in each other characters and make each other better. Both Batman and Superman need each other more than ever. Batman is able to keep Superman grounded in reality, and Superman is able to give Batman a little more hope and humanity in his life. Bringing up the DCAU there's this one story line that I think does a fantastic job subtly highlighting their relationship.
They have friction and disagreements but ultimately they make up for each other's blind spots, and understand each other in a way that they can help push each other into making decisions for the better.

Batman has tried to kill Joker many times what do you mean? The only reason Joker is alive is because of his popularity. Every time Batman tries to kill Joker someone stops him. Superman literally stopped Batman from killing Joker so him killing Joker in Injustice is pretty hypocritical.

Ok but I thought they were kissing in that thumbnail for a hot sec there 😅 😂
Although I agree that Batman and Superman should be friends, it never starts that way. They always start with skepticism and sometimes rivalry. They are superior as brothers
I guess that just goes to show how much I want it.
i would have Clark voiced by Zeno Robinson with Bruce voiced by Aleks Le.
great video
The very concept of a billionaire who dressed like a bat to scare villains doesn't make sense.
I remember them being bros in Justice League (animated) TV series. Also, Wonder Woman crushing hard on Batman is still ridiculously amusing to me.
very true!
Truthfully Batman is not a dark opposite of superman, they are the same person.
Injustice was a mistake
Here’s to hoping batman appears in My Adventures with Superman season 3 🙏🏼🙏🏼
My favorite Batman-Superman Friendship moment in the DCAU is right at the end of the JLU series finale, right after Batman gives the villains a five-minute head start as a reward for helping the heroes save the world:
Superman: A head start? You're getting soft in your old age.
Batman: **grins** Don't you have a tall building to go leap?
While Basty has the batfam which was always around there is only one person batman ever chose as a true friend and it was big blue.
The World's Finest friends.
They’re not best friends, they’re brothers.
People like Clark, Wally, Diana, Hal or John, and Manhunter
It'd be easy for someone like Clark to have friends because he's so easy-going. But Bruce is very much the loner type because he carries a lot of damage
Not only did he lose his parents, but constantly puts on the mask of a rich socialite as a cover-up and lives in a city where crime is more than common, even in the law
2:44 so what I'm hearing is that this is DC's version of Civil War🤪

Is it wrong that the title made me think of "The Farmer and the Cowman (Should Be Friends)" from Oklahoma? Like, somebody ought to do a parody version of that song with Superman and Batman.
Honestly I don't see James Gunn as the Batman vs Superman type. The stories I've seen him do have had the heroes bicker, but they don't tend towards the full on battle trope that has been so prominent in superhero crossover movies in recent years.
Yes
I'd love to see Bruce in my adventures or Clark in caped crusader. I would have to be different versions but I think I could work. Batman would feel very at home in maws and I think it's been too long since we got a investigative journalist noir version of Superman. (I guess we sorta did in war world, but come on)
They should also be around the same age. Zack Snyder making Bats Superman’s elder already set things off on a bad note in my book.
I like them starting as adversarial and quickly turning into friends. I think it makes sense they wouldn't get off on the right foot, but idk... Not like batman v superman.
Q. What would Superman be known as if His rocketship from the doomed planet Krypton had landed in Edinburgh ?
A. 'The Flying Scotsman'.
Also, in case you haven’t, read the comics to Public Enemies and Hush. They’re better than the movies they’re based on. ESPECIALLY Hush!
SPOILERS (in case anyone needs it) for My adventures with superman
Vicky Vale did show up in a few eps of the show so it is possible she could be a tease to batman showing up to the series, and given the light hearted nature of the show i believe the two will be good friends, they might bring up other timelines like injustice but i think the two will be the best of friends.
if they have to be in the same comic, yeah.
Stop proposing that Robert Pattinson Batman should be the DCU Batman. He doesn’t fit!! He is too realistic! He isn’t fantastical!! Matt Reeves has said he hates Batman Sidekicks!! He doesn’t Meta human villains either!! I don’t want Robert Pattinson Batman to be DCU Batman!!
yes please
imagine trying to actively sabotage a friendship that lasted over 70 years idiots
I'm so _tired_ of Batman and Superman fighting each other... can someone _PLEASE_ change that?!
Unfortunate. I dont think they should be friends... They should be lovers-
(I know they have their own respective love-interests, but C'mon... Edgy Brooder and Sunshine Lollipop? What is not to love in this dynamic?)
They usually are I don’t think it’ll be any different when they do meet again
Could lead to public enemies story line
the thumbnail doesnt make sense because those two versions of said heroes will never meet in the big screen
The thumbnail is illustrating it's possible because it's been done before, showing these versions as examples.
You should read world's finest
I think it's the best dc title at the current time.
