I'm 51 and I often forget how good we had it back in the day. So many good bands with REAL music. The state of rock and metal today is just sad. Not much really sticks or hits as hard as it used to. Too bad. ZZ Top was one of the first bands I ever got into. Still love them to this day. One of kind for sure!
Grew up listening to ZZ Top....Two of my first albums...yes albums..were Fandango and Tres Hombres.... followed ZZ all my life...even through the MTV pop/rock period... always sticking with them no matter what... I've been fortunate to see them in concert twice .. Great.. great.. concerts!! I just guess that Heaven needed another Bassist Extraordinaire... Going to miss you everyday Dusty.... God bless you!!!ZZ Top Forever !!🎸
Im 61 and my 41 year old son digs music from the late 60's on up. We play "who sings it". He even surprises me which ones he knows. Makes his mama proud.
My roommate is a fan of classic blues. He asked me, not long after Dusty's death, how I would describe ZZ Top. I said "Texas blues rock". He didn't get it...until I played this for him. RIP, Dusty. You will be sorely missed.
Man, listen to that guitar tone...you can just hear the grease oozing out of the speaker cabinets. Absolutely filthy...Billy has always managed to get unbelievable tones out of his guitars.
I've seen them live a couple of times and like most of their stuff, but this one is my stone cold favorite of all time. One my all time favorite rock songs, period.
It tells an odd, little story; doesn't it? Sorta like what I envision coming down from an LSD trip while shacked up in a really sleey West Texas motelto be like. Oh, wait; I already know what that's like.
@lauramountjoy8775 The Recycler tour was my first ZZ concert. I've seen them 12 more times since then. This is still one of my all time favorites. I also got arrested in a 7-Eleven parking lot in 1990. Go figure.

Pure Class from the legends. These guys been my hero’s since I was 11. I started playing guitar because of them. Still love them just as much to this day. This stuff is what made the US awesome back in the day. Hot girls, good music and Class Muscle cars. Pure testosterone back when men with beards were real men.
one of my favorite songs of all time... especially in a car with a kick ass stereo (need to get one of those again)... the guitar will bite you.... hearing it on a cell phone speaker just can't let you hear it the way it was meant to.
So that means that now, 3 years later, the song is even "loster" to time? And it's weird that you use the word "modern" in a post that's 3 years old. Kinda gives new perspective on the passage of time, and the vague parameters as to when "modern" ends and then gradually deteriorates in terms of functionality and popularity, thus becoming old-fashioned and then archaic, and finally objects of antiquity or legend, all but lost in the mists of time. Same thing happens to "futuristic".
@@davidmckibben2122 When I re-read my comment it sounded kinda like something from a Pink Floyd song, and as if I was STONED or something. "Welllcooommme to the MACHINE".

These guys are in their own world. Instrumental and vocals are ridiculous, but the lyrics are really great stories creating vivid pictures in the theatre of the mind. Seen them a handful of times spanning 20 years. They just kill live. In the slot, leanin' back into it. Billy is one of the most economic technique and soulful players ever. Bending, dirty- sustain- harmonic pickin' mo'fo' mojo. Rock n' roll, dialin' in that bluesy dirt brothahs. Truly a gift to us all. Thank you so much! Rock on!!

I was fortunate to have met Dusty on Beale Street in Memphis back in 2008 and talked with him about 15 minutes. He was a really humble man🙏🏾
Wow!
Recycler is their most underrated album. It's my personal favorite. This is powerful blues rock.
Dr. Billy Gibbons and ZZ Top are the s***🎉🎉🎉
Favorite song by ZZ Top. That heavy blues groove just crushes.

And I still got my keychain!
The guitar riffs in this song are Beyond superb absolutely badass I don't know how anybody could not like this song if you're in to rock and roll
