@@lynktalz Your welcome, A year and a half ago, with a bit of advice and encouragement from Robin, I bought a small, new galvanized washboard ($30), then a 'full-sized' w/ a brass surface for about $40 on line. (has a slightly softer ring to it). Another $10 for steel thimbles. It's a ball and I am able sit in with a friends quartet, but only with a modest contribution . My respect and admiration for Robin became much deeper .. there is a lot to it, beginning with listening closely. Robin is a mensch .. they're all good folks.
@@87sailorgirl Thanks for the added info. So the brass is preferred for the softer ring. Impressive that you were advised by Robin himself. After hearing other washboard players and groups without a washboard, I am amazed at his great talent, and also his energy and stamina in the playing. Also envious that you now have a washboard and are able to join a group in playing. I wish you much progress and pleasure in that.
I'm constantly amazed how well behaved Barnabus's dog is, towards people and other dogs.
Sometimes, he (?) even distracts me from the lovely music.
Another great TS rendition. Whenever I feel down even a brief TS dose brings on a smile. Great music by a great group. Thanks for the video!
Good stuff but look at their recent performances and see how much they have improved. Top class in 2016
Good singer, good band, good dancers, ...good dog scratching!
Thanks for posting this. Just beautiful to sit here watching and listening to them play
The song is 'Lonesome Road'.
I love this band!
Auld Mans Baccie just look at the dancers they dance like punks!
Now I understand what the phrase "Lucky Dog" really means!A lucky dog indeed to experience JAZZ of this quality live and free!
Even the dog is swinging.!!! so swing everybody swing it :D
Love it. Keep on swinging.
great performance
Wow - great washboard !
Erika carried this song in 2011, and yet we must wait for the modern Tuba Skinny to emerge!
great 😎👍👌
0:42 Give a washboard to that dog too. He got the skills.
... that's right tupelo ... use that scratching like a conductor using a baton ... 😎
the washboard guy is carrying the show
barnabas, watch out, the dog wants your job !
... the dog scratches at 16/16 time signature ... 😜
the dog digs the music too!
Check out the fucking excellent washboard solo guy about halfway thru this, what a hoot! Tuba Skinny street videos are the serious shit going down.
The dog seems unimpressed, but I AM!
The washboard player looks like he had to have a day off school to play in this (even then he had the elbows of an axe murderer )
New respect for washboard players.
his washboard is different from the usual one, a special make, with nice extras, very good, well-played
@@lynktalz Well, it's probably a used washboard - has a brass surface as opposed to galvanized steel. Robin usually adds the extras himself.
@@87sailorgirl Very informative explanation. Thank you for that.
