@@HectorGarcia-rr7lu I haven't installed it yet. I'm waiting for a sale on winches. I really want to get the monster winch, hopefully they have black Friday deals.
Great bumper - any issues with this and KDSS? I see your red recovery points attach to the radiator and frame housing which is right around where the KDSS sway bar is. I have a 2022 4Runner TRD ORP. Thanks.
We have the D40 Navara bumpers that can be made to work. The 3rd gen Frontier will get a new style bumper first. There are so many trucks in line for bumper designs so it takes time and we have to prioritize based on newer models, and sales numbers of vehicles.
@@Ironman4x4America Thanks for the reply. Will look into D40 bumper. I appreciate that you have to respond to the market and that there is always constraints. The 2nd Gen Nissan Frontier had a 16 year run with fairly decent sales numbers. Most Frontiers are now second and third owner and in the hands of guys who want to modify and wheel. Seems there would be a decent market there. Just sayin. Keep up the great work at Ironman 4x4!!
Great video, just bought and assembled mine with the 20" light bar. I did not see any instructions for wiring the light bar? Are there any instructions?
Thank you! We don't have instructions for wiring as this can be done several different ways. For example you could purchase our wiring hardness kit and wire the light bar up to a single button that will stick anywhere to your dash. You could also get a switch panel, auxbeam and wire it up to that. Hope this helps.
Looks great!! I have a TRD Pro. In that last shot in your outro, it looked like you had the TRD Pro skid plate on with your bumper. Are they compatible?
seriously considering this bumper, been looking for over a year and have made up my mind! its this one for sure! Question on the upper part of the bumper, it seems those two small platforms that protrude upwards, can you install aftermarket lights there?
Purchased and installed by Toyota. They returned it without the skid plate. On the 2023 TRD Premium 4x4, how do you mount the existing skid plate? What did they miss?

Nice video!! Do you know what bolt size/thread is the one on the bracket by the radiator ? (Bottom one) Do you just sell the bolts on your guys website?
I’ve got the FCP Stage 2 suspension- this is next! Are the two little “humps” on the top edge of the bumper skin for mounting lights? Looks like there’s a plugged hole there for wiring? If so, that’s AWESOME!!!
So someone asked earlier and you didn't answer. You mentioned a winch install video, but one doesn't exist. In this video, it appears that the winch control box isn't mounted at all. Did you fasten it to the bumper/winch tray where it appears in the video?
The video is misleading… it makes it sound like the controller bracket is designed to fit but it doesn’t fit on the left where the pre drilled holes are… you can fit it on the right, but there’s only one pre drilled hole. The controller box ground wire also isn’t long enough to make it to the other side so you need to extend it.
@@timbell595 Agreed, the video is misleading and the install doesn't work this way. I ended up drilling holes on the opposite side (right side if you face the bumper looking rearward) and used the control box bracket. I also had to make my one ground wire. All-in-all, I love the bumper and the winch but it was a complicated install and a video with more details would have helped.
I am extremely interested in this bumper but I am not sure on some of the inside dimensions for mounting the winch and I would really like to see a little more detail on cutting the bumper
I literally just finished installing this and decided to go back through to see if something I missed in the comments. I also couldn't find the winch install video. I came across this one and it helped out. Best of luck on your install. This video was helpful but missing a lot of important information
I bought this bumper, an Ironman winch, light bar and skid plates because I thought it would all fit together nicely like this video makes it seem… unfortunately many parts of this video are missing or misleading… 1) Know this video is the ONLY instructions available from Ironman. No instructions are included in the box… no parts list, no torque specs… it’s very difficult to ko2 what hardware to use where. 2) The video is misleading about the winch controller bracket. It makes you think it is made to fit the 9500lb Ironman winch and fits in the left… unfortunately there’s absolutely no room for it there. You see in the video, the winch controller is actually on the right and seemly not attached to anything. You can fit it on the right but the control box ground isn’t long enough to make it to the left side, so you need splice it to extend. There’s also only one pre-drilled hole on the right. 3) The cutting instructions are wrong, especially for the internal air baffles which need a lot more cutting. 4) If you pre-mount your control box and try mount the whole unit in one go, like the video suggests, you won’t be able to reach the inside back bolt on the controller side. 5) The video fails to mention that there’s wiring for the fog lights that need to be relocated. If you cut on the vehicle, you’ll slice right through them.
The plastic falls behind the bumper shell, making a nice hide for the cut line. The bumper in mounted to your frame and the truck body is mounted on rubber body mounts. When offroad the body will flex independently from the frame. To allow for this movement you need about a 1/2" gap so there is no contact.
Yes you can use your TRD skidplate, You might have to trim the corners of it for clearance. Can't speak to other brands compatibility, but it fits great with our light bar ;)
With this and the rear really wish you had shown the bumper cuts being done.. that's the most guesswork. And in the video you refer to a winch installation video but it's no where to be found. You show the universal bracket but the kit comes with an angle bracket for the controller box but no info in this video on how or where to mount it.. is it left to the customer choice? Any suggestions since you what appears to be a different box than you actually ship with the 9500 winch.. (yeah I can figure it out but that is one reason I ordered both part from same company I was hoping it was mostly mapped out).
There really is no guess work, simply follow the plastic chin guard piece outline for your initial cut. Then trim back any more as needed based on your preference.
1) The cutting instructions on the air baffles are wrong, you need to cut a lot more. 2) The part about the control box mount are misleading. It doesn’t fit on the left like he talks about. It only fits on the right, but there’s only a single pre-drilled hole on the right, and the control box ground isn’t long enough to reach the other side so you need to extend it. 3) There is wiring for the fog lights you need to relocate before cutting, if you cut it with the bumper on the vehicle you’ll slice right through it.
It will bolt up to a limited, but the cut will be much different because the limited has that fat chrome piece across the front and is different from the rest of the front ends on the other trim levels. Same goes for the TRD Sport that is offered.
It only fits on the right side, not the left like the video shows. There’s only one pre drilled hole and the control box ground isn’t long enough so you need to extend it.
Many companies, including us, develop products based on demand and sales numbers of that specific vehicle. The early 5th gen 4Runner, 2010-2013, had low sales numbers because we were just coming out of a massive recession. When Toyota released the facelift in 2014 sales more than doubled of units sold per year. We look at this data very carefully when looking at product development decisions for legacy vehicles. And companies will develop for the largest potential customer pool to get a profitable return on the R&D costs.

Those can be used to install accessory lighting.
