You and your brother always have great insights to share, along with a whole bunch of fun. A friend of mine who is a professional mechanic that works on off-road vehicles exclusively, recommends reinstalling that top plastic piece that you discarded. Instead, cut an access hole to reach the winch. The reason for this is that this piece of plastic helps to direct outside air through the radiator and prevents picking up hot air from the engine bay. Your truck, your choice.
@@aired-downoverland9239 How are you feeling these days? Are you well enough for your brother to start beating the crap out of you again on overlanding courses? I know, it's actually the other way around! :))
Great timing on that question, I’m actually sitting in a hospital bed (no worries). I’ve had two infections attached to the hardware in my knee; one plate was removed in March, the one remaining one yesterday. Now six weeks of antibiotics and I’ll be good to go. Thanks for checking in 🙌😊

you brothers make some great videos. would be nice if you lived closer to michigan. like the way you two work together. Thank You for taking the time to making these excellent “how to” videos to assist me when i tackle the same job
Thanks for this video. Finally got my Slimline hybrid after 4+ Months. But they didn't send the light bar out and the Warn winch got recalled. So I'll be saving this video.
Finally got my SSO bumper after 99 days and got the light bar after 115 days 😂. Still waiting on the winch. Do you think I will need the side support brackets if I have a viper cut already?
@@project_poor_runner I waited a long time too; I hate waiting 😄. You can run without the side wings, I feel like they’re more looks than support. My buddy pushed his in at Moab last year and we had to do a time consuming trail repair to get it pulled out. Not sure if it saved the fender or just caused repair time, hard to say.
I love your videos. Yours and your brother's . They are very well done and fun. I love how you both tease each other with loving sarcasm. Please, could you post the torque specs. Thanks.

Great Video, good insight. Thank you! Planning on getting this bumper as well. Did the bull bar interfere with the sensor for adaptive cruise control at all? That has been my biggest worry with looking for bumpers.
Glad the video was helpful. The people at Southern Style Offroad designed the bumper to not interfere with the front sensors; I have never had an issue. 👍🏻
Wow, nice job. I'm looking for a bumper for my TRD Off Road with KDSS. I'm assuming this will work with KDSS. BTW, it would have been "epic" if the airbag went off with the kick. Thankfully it didn't. Looks like a real solid bumper. I have the TSS and MTM (front camera). Looks like this bumper with the bullbar will be compatible with those features. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, the Southern Style Offroad Bumper works with all the new safety gear…and won’t set the airbag off prematurely 😄. I have the Anytime front and rear camera, which has worked well for me. Good luck on your build 🙌

How were you able to have your fog lights on only with parking lights on mine you have to have your headlights on for them to work would like to be able to just have my parking lights on with fogs thanks for sharing all your DIY
The bumper is only ~70 lbs, but the winch and light bar add a little more. All in it’s probably around 100 lbs. That amount, in my opinion, does not require heavy duty springs.
Hey. Great video. What is the main point if these side “wings”? Are they really protecting? I know you already offroaded with this setup, how did you like it? I just think such side high clearance parts are usually heavy and expensive. And still require skid for water tank on a right side. I just wonder of your opinion about how protective and necessary these parts are. Some people just cut and use molding. Having the same or better approach angle and less added weight. What do you think?
Thanks for the video. Definitely helpful. I’ve seen some people just remove the air dams completely but they’re there for a reason. What did you use to determine where to cut them?
I can see my winch’s clutch lever through my bumper, so I knew where to make the access hole. The first one was a bit small, so I enlarged it until I was happy. I used a small Dremel Tool.
Thanks Clayton. Yes, but just barely, so I was able to push it away enough to create safe clearance. That aluminum line is tough and here to bend, so it will require some effort. And go slow! Don’t risk damaging the line.
@@aired-downoverland9239 Yeah I was a little nervous to push on that line when I installed my winch, but realized the other day that it's contacting the control box again... guess I need to put a little more weight on it!
Are the Baha design fog lights that much better then stock led’s? Looks great I’m thinking something similar or same. Thanks for a very detailed video👍
Nope, not once. Do you run skid plates? I’m sure they keep some of the gunk from splashing all the way up to the liner. IF I were going to clean mine, I’d probably spray it with Simple Green, then hit it with a hose/spray tip; I wouldn’t use a pressure washer unless you start far away.
@@aired-downoverland9239 Yeah I have RCI skids. I guess it's just from me hitting more mud puddles then, and probably too quickly at that. My hood insulation is fairly orange from the red clay mud we have in the South. Thanks for replying!
@@aired-downoverland9239 Thanks, I have a 2022 TRD Pro and am curious. Do you notice any significant difference in ride quality with the additional front end weight?
