How to Install an IAG AOS V3

- What's up guys,
In this video I show you how to install the IAG V3 Air Oil Separator. This is on my 2005 STI, but the installation will be the same for almost all Subarus. This is the Street series, the Competition Series is going to be a bit different on the installation. You will also need a tune for the Competition Series, just keep that in mind. This is a pretty easy install if you know how to do it. It can be a little hard to install some hoses, so take your time. I definitely recommend getting an AOS or a Catch Can. If you go with an AOS I would definitely go with the IAG. Theirs seems to be the best and simplest to install. You can pick one up at IAG for around $400. Let us know if you have any questions and thanks for watching.

Crucial information for the hose at 7:17
My aos did not come with the threaded nipple attached to this hose and was already attached to the aos and I was unaware that it is a directional hose so to anyone reading this; learn from my mistake and make absolute sure the arrow on the check valve in the middle of the hose is pointing toward the intake manifold. The shorter side of the hose goes on the aos. I installed this hose backwards and it restricted my engine from being able to breathe and it was pushing oil out of every gasket it could so PLEASE make sure this hose is going the correct way
Underrated ass video yo! Everyone else just tells you where the hoses go, you actually SHOW where they go. 10/10 🔥
boost and shutter did a wicked install video. Way better than this
Thanks man! We try our best to make our videos as clear as possible and easy to follow.

the most clear video i’ve ever seen for this install. getting ready for an install of this same product soon!
Got my AOS a week ago and my tools today. Will be using this vid for the walkthrough. Thanks!!
You're welcome.
Well done man, thanks a lot for your instructions, Very clear and easy to understand. 1000/10
For sure man! Glad it helped out.
Hi I saw your vido is awesome
I owned a 2006 sti and install the IAG oil separator
Thank you so much thanks to you I was available to install the aos it looks like complicated mood but you explain well and made look easy thank you I appreciate racing trenz here in Colorado want $500 to install but you made easy thank you so much keep up the good work
Thanks a lot of the comment. We really try to make our install videos as easy as possible to follow along. Glad I was able to help you out.
Yea man this video saves us enthusiast a ton of money not hard to do just takes time
Helpful tips thanks!
Very nicely done bro!!
Thanks man!
Finally I know that plug is for the PCV sensor... Great video!
Yeah no problem! Glad we could help
that plug is essentially useless. if you just cut the connector off and wire the 2 wires together is serves the same purpose, its just some sort of loop and splicing the wires and connecting them together is the same thing. gives things a cleaner look
@@kylehenneberg7073 yeah that is my plan. At the time I made this video I didn't have a Y splitter.
Much appreciated, the last video I watched had me beyond irritated as the video quality left a lot to be desired.
Thanks you helped install mine on my hawkeye wrx started right up like normal 👍
Anytime. Glad I could help
Hey i just got IAG A/O separator and have a perrin strut bar installed. Just saw on IAG's website that most strut bars are incompatible. You didnt run into clearance issues?
so i’m kinda confused? Does the iag aos remove the stock PCV Valve?

Quick question my dude I cut off a little bit of the hoses that go to the turbo and coolant expansion tank because I didn’t have a lot of room and the hoses kept bending to where it kept clogging is that normal to cut the hoses for space
Yes it's normal to cut the hose for room, but cutting it to short is not good. If it keeps bending your hose might be to long. It should not be clogging anything. I would take it off and put it up a bit closer without cutting. See if it bends and if it doesn't then cut it to that point.
What did you do with the second to last hose connection? The one with the PCV? You said you were going to connect the PCV and put it in there but how did you get that all connected up?
I had to buy the white sensor that plugs into that plug and I just attached the hose onto that white sensor. After that you just leave it. You don't have to do anything with that white sensor. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late reply.
Can this fit a WK2 Jeep Grand Cherokee or is there an equivalent air oil separator for Mopar vehicles do you know?
you could probably make this fit but you would have to modify it. you also shouldn't really need it on a na car. its mostly for turbo'd cars
Thanks Bro. You have any idea as too where you would install this AOS on a RHD sti?
That's a hard one. I would try to see if I could put it somewhere on the drivers side. You might have to drill your own holes and install it with the bracket. As long as you have room somewhere near the PCV, valve covers, and surge tank you should be okay to install it in any location. You might have to do some modifications and get some longer hoses, but it's not impossible.
I would also contact IAG and ask them about it. See if they any good ideas on where to install it on a RHD sti. They would probably know more about that. I'm pretty sure you're not the first to ask that.
Here is a link I found to someone who did it. Hope it helps.

@@fastlifestyle7249 thanks man much appreciated
can i do this exact same thing on my 2004 wrx? the thing is my wrx only have 1 valve breather hose? is that normal
You should have two valve breather hoses, one on driver side and one on passenger. Do you have an EJ205 in your wrx?
GD WRX's only have (1) breather on each valve cover. You have to do a little work in each valve cover to put (1) extra for every side. Did mine with (2) bronze KFPS/NPT in that same plastic piece where you have only one breather. In forums they do that in the metal part of the valve cover, i didn't like that route so did mines in the plastic part.
@@alejandrodacosta3814 trying to do this on mine i’m so lost can u please explain in more detail what i gotta do
With the pcv sensors the hose that was supposed to go there what happens with the hose?
I just attached the white sensor on it then put the hose to it and plugged up the sensor on the other end. What I'm gonna do though is take that sensor completely off because you don't need it and get a Y adapter and run it with the other hose into the turbo inlet.
I have the same turbo inlet as you, so you can run both hoses just directly into the inlet with no sensor at all?
@@skylerwalkowski529 You can run one to the top of it like I did in the video. The other one you'd have to run into the PCV sensor or if you have a hole on the back of your inlet then IAG provides you with that 90 degree plug. What I would do though if you have the same perrin inlet as me is get a Y splitter and just run both hoses into the hole closest to the cold air intake. Hope that helps!
So there’s another video that’s doing the same install and is touting the hose completely different so I’m a little confused
Do you know what hose it is? IAG gives install instructions on the different vehicles. If you just look up IAG AOS V3 instructions they should come up. You'll Have to find the right AOS and vehicle though.
@@fastlifestyle7249 you did it right I double checked the instruction manual
Not sure what the other guy was doing
Is that a Smeedia hoodie?!
It is yes. He's one of my favorite youtubers.
