A special shout out to the Captain and Crew of HMS Albion for their hospitality by bringing Dan and Kika on board to give them and us a glimpse of life aboard the flagship of HM Royal Navy. Awesome job on the video Dan & Kika it was a great adventure to watch. I am sure it was even better in person. Thanks & Cheers!
I am a Canadian, And let me say that Kika, You personify what it means to be Canadian. You have done so consistently throughout every video uploaded. These two videos prove my point without a doubt. A petition should be started, these videos should be shown to Trudeau, you should be granted a Canadian Passport. Now that is something I could get behind! I would be honoured to have you in my country.
Fantastic PR video for the RN, ordered by captain Peter, who hired the best actress Kikie, and handsome, inteligent actor Dan. Thank all of you: Captain Peter, the crew members - my best congratulations to her majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, and two actors as mention above. You agreed to play for free. That is why you are loved among the Uma nation members and their friends. Best wishes, M.
Agree totally, you would need to have paid a PR agency thousands to produce a video anywhere near this quality, I thought it showed the Royal Navy (and Royal Marines before I start getting pelters for missing them out) in a really positive light, going about their daily work. Albion is a unique vessel, which they touched on, with many capabilities...not just projecting power, which is probably its prime function, but also providing humanitarian aid to disaster zones. The Royal Navy may have shrunk somewhat in recent decades, but we should be immensely proud of what remains.
Thanks so much again to everyone who tuned in for the premiere of this video! it was really nice to hangout and chat with so many of you. If you missed the premiere, no worries, you can re-watch the video normally. Don't forget to hit the like :) and feel free to Let us know if you think doing this again would be a good idea ! Cheers
Pretty cool the way you did that. Never saw anyone premiere a video in that fashion. I was at work and only watched a couple minutes of it, rewatching now.
You guys have gone way beyond just another youtube sailing channel. This would be considered a top class docco on any TV network. It was epic guys. Amazing that you had so much access to a war ship, and the crew! Loved every minute of it (except when I snorted coffee out of my nose, at work, because of Kika's subtitles in the motor room. :P )
One word. Wow. Just wow. A brilliant video and a big round of applause to the RN, Captain and crew for welcoming you on board and showing you around. A big shout out also to the Bootnecks.
I served on a US Navy destroyer back in the early seventies. And of course a destroyer is a small ship, and I knew this would be much bigger, but I was just awestruck again and again at how vastly larger this ship is. And the technology . . . well, it makes my little boat seem like a relic of the stone age.
yeah. And remember that most navies would consider a destroyer to be a pretty big ship, would be happy to have one or two as flag ships for their fleets.
@@zesty1285 For a short while after HMS Ocean was taken out of commission and before HMS Queen Elizabeth was fully operational, HMS Albion was the RN flagship.
Thank You so much Captain Laughton and The British Navy for picking one of the fantastic sailing couples to be on Board and join in the drills and everyday work on the HMS Albion. WOW Warp Speed Awesome
NOOOOOOO!!!!!! That's it? Over already? Many thanks to Kika & Dan, the crew of the Albion, and the Royal Navy for the visit aboard. Semper Fortis! BZ brothers & sisters
this has to be the best advertising for the Royal Navy ever!!! on top that the Crew & Captain are really good man and with this kind of job still up for a good joke!!!!!
Did a career in the US Navy. Never remember hugging any of my ships' captains or calling them by their first names, but then again I lack Kika's charm. Great video!
What an awesome Ship, Captain and Crew. We are fortunate to have such admirable allies. Great presentation Kika and Dan. Thank you. All ahead, Mr Spock. Warp 9!
Top notch job you two! You capture the idea of a Royal Naval ship and how large they are in real life. Great ending, thanks you for sharing your adventure with us.
Great to See the RN / RM showing the world of RUclips what they are about and also Nice to see Dan & Kika entering into the world of the HM Forces and showing the world the capabilities of the RN when it is required in Humanitarian relief operations and the Vehicle's that they use to Aid people around the world when the need arises and they do it a lot in the Caribbean after Hurricane disasters Well Done guys
This Video is probably the best one, I've ever seen on YT. Brilliant storytelling, awesome Editing, more than well fitting music on point and a interesting view on board of a warship. Like a documentation on pay TV but way better. Thanks for share it with us. :-)
This was a pretty awesome reminder of how much more our military men and women across the globe really do, not just in times of war, but general humanitarian efforts. I am in awe of these last two episodes. Really impressive on all fronts. 👏🏻👍🏻
Exceptional on all fronts. Win win for Uma duo (and their v slick filming and editing) and for HMS Albion and her canny captain! RN adverts don't get better than that!
Very nice tour. I worked on the USS Raleigh LPD-1 which is also an amphibious transport dock like what this vessel is here, except ours were powered by Babcox and Wilcox 600-lb boilers instead of diesel.
WOW OH WOW, That is great! You got Security clearance to do That? Take this back to EU with help on your Visa/Haiti issues. I am so happy for you . Very Very few sailors get that tour.
Had a big smile on my face the entire time! What an amazing adventure!!! Thank you to the Royal Navy for inviting us all to be a part of the adventure! Thank you for your service! Dan and Kiki... excellent filming and editing, as always. Truly epic!
What an awesome experience! You have done a wonderful job of editing and keeping it positively riveting! What a great time! I'm sure the royal navy is getting many more recruits from such a different yet awe inspiring vision of what it's like aboard a royal navy ship! I'm so jealous! I hope everyone noticed just how clean all the spaces were throughout the ship. Every space must be cleaned thoroughly daily to prevent the infestation of insects or mold and mildew. Brought back special memories for me. My Dad served in the RN for 22 years and the few times I got tours of his ship was so exciting as a child. He passed away a few years ago, but when I watched your video I felt a certain pride and connection with him. Thank you for sharing.
I watched this video for the third time. I'd like to see a sailing channel to beat this episode (all in in one you guys - for me, at least). None of them will. NEVER!
If you thought that was loud, I once served duty as boiler monitor aboard a 70 yr old vintage WW2 corvette during a joint amphibious landing exercise, ear protection only made the vibration worse. By the time my shift ended, I felt like someone had held a jackhammer to my ear all day. This brought back memories, from shooting the fantail .50 cal to watching the 40mm and 105mm guns shake the rust off the old ship's ceiling and walls during the GunnEx. That old corvette was decommissioned a year later.
Simply awesome ! Unique adventure for any civilian ! Shall we call you Admiral Kika now ? And Dr Spoock, aka Dan ? Wonderful vid ! You two rock, kiddos ! Imaginr, being VIP visitors on an hypertech ship, I would have thousands questions !! We saw a Corvette moored in Halifax I believe. Huge ship....compared to Uma, but yes, quite small when sat beside the current lineup of floating cities.
I Enjoyed this video so much, its So nice to see people from across the world be treated with Love , friendship, and protection, Lets all work together and live long and prosper. ( a very well made video ) 💕
Having served on two of the largest aircraft carriers I know what you went through travelling the different levels. I really enjoyed the way you ended the video, I was a Star Trek fan.
NOOOOOOO... I did not want this episode to be over!!!! Brilliant ending, though. Kika is the classiest of classy and Dan captures it so well. LOVE THESE TWO!!! They have helped me through a pandemic by binge watching their videos. Getting close to catching up to present day. That's alright! I will just start all over again. ha
You guys are IMPRESSIVE. It is a measure of how good you are that the Captain invited you onboard his ship (and what a lovely guy) . You both ooze sheer ability in everything but most of all, the filming of your adventure. So professional. I would swear this was a documentary produced by the BBC (other experts are available) and directed by Attenborough. I should have gone to bed a couple of hours ago but...... just one more episode xx
Kika & Dan, thanks for taking us to a place most people will never ever have the opportunity to see! You guys are so lucky and thanks for taking us with you!

I Enjoyed this video so much, its So nice to see people from across the world be treated with Love , friendship, and protection,
Lets all work together and live long and prosper. ( a very well made video ) 💕
Having served on two of the largest aircraft carriers I know what you went through travelling the different levels. I really enjoyed the way you ended the video, I was a Star Trek fan.
Brilliant BRILLIANT video. Those guys were all absolute gents.. Makes one proud to be British.
I was on HMS Fearless, its predecessor landing ship.. things have come a long way along since then, very impressive boat.
WOW!!!
I’m only a “LOT” jealous!!!
How awesome is that!!!
Really really cool..😎
My favorite sailing/non-sailing episode ever! Giant electric motor, had no idea. Really great to see, thank you.
That is a once in a lifetime experience. Thanks for taking me along. I am sure you guys will not forget this adventure. Love you guys, big hugs.
NOOOOOOO... I did not want this episode to be over!!!! Brilliant ending, though. Kika is the classiest of classy and Dan captures it so well. LOVE THESE TWO!!! They have helped me through a pandemic by binge watching their videos. Getting close to catching up to present day. That's alright! I will just start all over again. ha
Awesome Captain Kika and Commander Dan. Special thanks to Captain Peter.
Again, superb narration and editing. The story line flows. AND , I LOVED the ending. Marc from Montreal.
