    Looks great Nick. I too have avoided using element for years even though I bought it. Do you happen to know of any beginner tutorials for E3D?

    Joysticks and slider is just a games changer for after effect. Can't believe this is not a built-in plugin

    it’d be cool to see this tutorial with the beta 3d import! just bring in OBJs for each limb, parent them like a puppet rig, ez pz

    Nick, you actually aren't actually limited to 5 groups in 1 instance of element, you can actually create a new instance and set the render to "unified" and it will render as if it's 1 instance

    This is great, thanks Nick. Long time Element 3D user but never thought of this workflow. Did you mess around with the "Auxillary Channels" in E3D for breaking apart the rig further? I'm not certain you could export the Aux channels to nulls for combining with Joysticks, but curious if you'd gone down that path of exploration.

    • @motionbynick
      @motionbynick  3 года назад +1

      i briefly looked into the aux channels but honestly couldn’t figure out what they were for. I only watched one E3D video before diving into the program and making my own tutorial 🤣😅

    • @andrewlindemann6427
      @andrewlindemann6427 3 года назад

      @@motionbynick well you look like a pro off one tutorial! So the Aux channels allow you to break elements in each group down into up to 10 more groups. you can assign an Aux channel to up to 10 elements in the group, and then when you go into element on the timeline in AE, you have individual control over each Aux channel in the group. so theoretically you could break something down into 50 parts. That said, I don't know how Aux channels transfer when you generate the nulls from each group...you may completely lose the functionality when you do that. but worth a deep dive to figure out potentially.

      @abuhamzaalsafadi 3 года назад +1

      @@andrewlindemann6427 there is a way to use Aux with nulls, if you use a script from aescripts called elementary, you can actually tell the script to make a null for each auxiliary channel, but it will slow your ae a bit because of all the expressions, so i'm not sure if it will be a pain to work with it but definitely it's an easier way to work with Aux than scrolling in the effect menu, the script is free or "name your price"
