This is so timely and wonderful. Thank you so much❤. I am going to use this to make Easter baskets this year. I usually try to use unique vessels and this is it. I will strengthen the walls with cereal box or plastic canvas. All enclosed in the folds and not visible. I am thinking some mixed media style painting and use of all those fun die cutters I have ❤❤❤ There are enough to tailor it to each recipient. 😊 Also, what feels like 100 years ago in a very old fashioned hospital nursing school, we had to fold down the tops of brown paper lunch bags and attach 2 pieces of masking tape as hangers. These were used to tape to a patient's overbed table for dirty tissues. I found it oddly satisfying to prep the bags. We taped them to a clean utility closet door until used. Still a good system for a personal trash bag.
The video was worth watching just to have 20 minutes of cool bag crinkling sounds!! I love that! But I love even more the idea of having several containers to hold stuff. That is awesome. And, like most people, I have lots of those little bags with the round handles. Having the handles makes them easy to pick up. Thanks so much Shannon!
I will be hauling out the paper bags and the glue this afternoon for sure! Another wonderful idea to pursue ❤️ I think Bearly Art Glue should pay you for the phrase “There’s magic in there” and use it in their advertising! 🎉
This is a wonderful idea and I guess we could always add a cereal box panel to the bottom For additional strength if we don't have boxes that fit 😊 Thank you and have a good weekend ❤❤
Great idea. I do that with the plastic (bubble or stiff) mailers and turn them inside out with the two end sides pushed on inside to a point(outside is flat) like when you are sewing a zipper makeup bag and it sits perfect like your bags. I have all sizes for my junk. Thanks for the idea and video. 💜
This is so clever. For years, I have been opening chip bags and rolling them down so they will stand up and people can easily get what they want. But I never thought of turning paper bags into little storage boxes!
I made a couple of bag containers along with you! I also turn them into junk journal covers or signature "covers", or even pages. I LOVE kraft paper! And the sound of it being crumpled is also great 😃
OMG!! Just yesterday my brother and I were talking about how grandma lined her kitchen trash can with a brown paper bag and she ALWAYS rolled the top at least twice. She could do it without ripping the bag and there is definitely an art to that. Try as I may, I can never do it without a rip and I certainly can't use a bag without a rolled edge!! We would just keep rolling until it was as short as we wanted it but your way is genius!! I will be making 7 thousand of these and my brother is going to FREAK OUT. My love for everything you do just sky rocketed. Many, many thanks. I have to rewatch the video because I had to comment in the middle😊. Much love❤
Love the sound of all the paper bags. In the Netherlands we do not have these at supermarkets ( we bring our own bags of buy a plastic bag.....) but great idea!
As much as I love repurposing things like this I would prefer for our stores to eliminate bags as well. Only a couple of states have started doing that and unfortunately I don’t see it catching on anytime soon. 🫤
You are one of the first RUclips channels I watched. I haven't seen you in awhile, but I am glad you "dropped by". I use a lot of small Amazon boxes, minus their flaps, to organize my things, however I will also be making some paper bag containers as well. Interestingly they are all of a similar color palette! Nice to see you again!
I love this variation from what I learned sooooo many years ago😉. The one I have used is depending upon your intended use you can make them sturdier by doubling or tripling. Then you can cut the bulk down from top to ease the folding process which is to fold the top over itself. Another easier version is to fold each bag with a various height to the fold down cuff and insert into each bag if using multi. I have used this for gift giving of plants or veggies from the garden
Oh wow, this is so perfect for me. You don't even want to know how many paper sacks I have, many in pretty colors from various clothing stores. Not only that, I just MOVED them in a big move (for me) to another city. I have way to many to turn them all into journal pages/covers even if I run workshops. Meanwhile, I DO need more containers! Thank you!!
They are so cute! And so simple to do!! Thank you so much for sharing! Can’t wait to make a bunch of them. I knew there would be a good use for the many many many bags I just can’t throw away hehe.
Great ideas, thanks so much. I have bunches of paper bags that i can now turn into cute paper boxes. After watching your video on the Bearly glue and Natural Life, I went shopping. I'll try out my new glue on these bags. I was able to get a couple cute little things for me of course ,but also for my sisters bday in May from N.L.
There are two sizes of A'zon boxes I obsessively save to make modular "book cases" from. They are both "A-something" sizes I believe. Paint 'em black, decoupage some paper bits with tinted clear glue. Presto! instant antiqued book cases for blank signatures, accordion fold ephemera books, etc. _Hours ago_ this morning I was set on making blank ephemera bases but didn't have the mental energy to make one of those boxes as well. Here you are, solving the problem with paper bags. Clever you. Thanks!😂👍
What a great idea! My state has largely banned bags at stores but some of the smaller stores are allowed to have them. Or I will just grab some gift bags!

I'm a sick person I love the sound of the crumbling 😂
I’m so glad you heard me yelling at the screen to put the handles in the inside 😂😂❤
For once I heard all the hollerin’!
Dear Shannon, ❤, I've seen them made but not seen anyone make them. Thankyou soooo much for this! I've got lots of brown paper i can use.✂️💖💖💖🇦🇺
I’m so glad this was helpful for you!
I have a very difficult time tossing out paper bags, especially if they have handles. Now, I can bring them to life. TFS!
I know exactly what you mean!
I like to use flour paste for things like this. It makes it nice and stiff once it dries. Adds to the stability.

It’s amazing how soothing those crinkling sounds are, isn’t it?!
Oh my goodness, I love this craft project! Just in time for the spring and summer craft season❤❤❤
I will be hauling out the paper bags and the glue this afternoon for sure! Another wonderful idea to pursue ❤️ I think Bearly Art Glue should pay you for the phrase “There’s magic in there” and use it in their advertising! 🎉
😂😂😂 Right?!
This is a wonderful idea and I guess we could always add a cereal box panel to the bottom For additional strength if we don't have boxes that fit 😊 Thank you and have a good weekend ❤❤
Perfect solution!
Love how eco friendly this is!
Oh me too!!
Love this. It's a treat to see a craft I've never seen before!
I know what you mean!

That’s a brilliant idea!!
@ thank you. Yours as well.
This is so clever. For years, I have been opening chip bags and rolling them down so they will stand up and people can easily get what they want. But I never thought of turning paper bags into little storage boxes!
How smart! I never thought about doing that, when I actually bought small colored paper bags for storing little things! 🤦🏻♀️ 🤦🏻♀️ 👏
Next time one crosses your path give it a try!
@ I made one whilst watching your video. I have a nice stock that I keep now that plastic bags are banned in my country.
I love this idea! Thank you! 💖

Crumpled paper sounds great, feels great, and looks great!
TFS very cute.
So cute!!! So many uses for these. You could use them for gifting cookies at Christmas or as cute little Easter baskets! Great idea Shannon!
Yes!! Fabulous ideas!

Your grandma was a rock star!!
These will work so much better than the envelopes I'm using now! Thanks!
You’re very welcome!
Thank You Shannon this is great! I am going to a retreat in Kansas and I will share......so cute
Perfect! Enjoy your retreat!

They really do have cute stuff!

Your ‘book cases’ sound fantastic!
Share a pic!
You also can glue fabric on the outside which is what I've been doing with my cardboard boxes I've been using for storing paperwork. 😊
Oh I love it!!
Love this so cool !!
Thanks for watching!
Clever idea
Thanks!
cute and fun! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
What a great idea! My state has largely banned bags at stores but some of the smaller stores are allowed to have them. Or I will just grab some gift bags!
Yes! There are options 🙂
Good idea...
Thanks!
So awesome
Thanks Janice!
Dobrý nápad 😂❤❤
Thanks!!
Can you show us more projects using the brown paper puffy Amazon envelopes?! I’ve got a crap ton and can’t possibly use them all for journal covers!
I don’t have any of those envelopes but will keep an eye out for ideas!
Så smart! Lätt att göra, ha redan gjort två 😊
Oh I’m so happy to hear that!
😊
Going to have a go! Perfect for serving home made bread! Can you tell me again the name of that glue please?
Bread! That’s brilliant!! The glue is called Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.
