Thank you so much for watching! Hand sewing is so much fun! One time we had a power outage due to storm while I was in the middle of sewing a project. Didn't affect me coz I was hand sewing..😅
for anyone looking for a pattern, that style of pincushion is called a biscornu. there are lots of patterns and tutorials online for free. it looks very lovely with the sashiko!
I want to try sashiko it's just I read up the stitches have to be even my stitching can be inconsistent. I have specialist needles and book. The shape of pincushion reminds me of biscornu I used to make with cross stitch patterns I find on Pinterest. Everyone seems to stitch beautifully. I won't know till I attempt sashiko myself. I loved the EPP cover in last video.
Thank you so much for watching! I find that its easier for me to stitch evenly and straight with sashiko compared to regular hand sewing. The needle is longer and thicker and the thimble helps stabilize the end of the needle. Sashiko is really fun. Please give it a try! ❤️
I made the same-style pin cushion, but a big one, like the one that fits in the lacquer bowl you transferred your scraps to. I needed a cover because I didn't want our furry thief to pull out the pins. And hide all rubberbands. She stole it from two bottles I banded together. The bottles were on the floor but we couldn't find the rubberband. My other daughter's cat ate a whole bunch and had to get it surgically removed. You know the idiom about curious cats, it's true. They get into everything. I can't wait for your next project and to see if Mochi will eat the grass. If it works I may purchase one.
I loved this video very much. I will be making the thimble and another pin cushion and add sashiko on it. Yours is so beautiful and inspiring. I’m looking forward to your new mat and seeing if you will machine or hand stitch. 💕💕
Hello Kiko, I just love your videos. I’m inspired to try Sashiko for myself. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work and adorable Mochi with us. Today the beautiful boxes for your scraps and your sewing tools caught my eye. Please can you tell me what they are called and where I might find them or something as beautiful? Again thank you for your videos. They bring me joy and relaxation and inspiration. ❤
Cross stitchers are into those types of pin cushions -- they are called biscornu(s). I always enjoy your videos so much! I'm hoping to expand my crafting into sashiko and other types of embroidery thanks to you! Take care.
The pincushion style is called biscournu which i believe is french. I've made larger ones as pillows with embroidery on top. I like the sashiko look! Blessings!!
I love the little sashiko thimble you made! I’m just starting to learn sashiko and would love to know where you purchased the pretty wooden thread bobbins?
Looks great! I made a lot of those pin cushions (they are called Biscornu) and you could stuff them a bit more :) I'm always surprised how much stuffing you can get in those little projects :)
mochi is getting so big! she's really beautiful, you can see how much you love her! please be careful with cat grass, getting blades of grass stuck in a kitty's throat is one of the more common reasons they have to go see a vet!

More beauty from you! 👏🏻 Can I ask what red thread you used, it looked very strong 😻xox
Thank you so much! Is it the pink thread I used for the thimble? Its 100% cotton quilting thread from Gutermann 😊
