"Weird Al" Yankovic - Stop Draggin' My Car Around (Demo 1; 1981)

"Stop Draggin' My Car Around", a parody of "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" by Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty, was a song released on Al's first album in 1983. There were three demo versions recorded over 1981, this being the first of those, recorded on August 24, 1981. I couldn't find much info on any of these demos, Al and Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz are presumably playing on it, but I haven't been able to confirm anyone else.

The title suggests that this was 1981, so this version would have been done the same year as his first television appearance. By then, he’d surrounded himself with others who could help with his sound. 🙂
