Kudos to the people that didnt let the driver/runner get away. Atleast the families of the victims wont have to beg someone on tv to come forward so they can attempt to get justice and closure. Everyone wants respect and to be treated fairly and like an adult but when they screw up they dont wanna BE the adult and take responsibility for their actions.
That is so awesome that they chose to do something. This could be any of us or our loved ones getting mowed down like that. RIP

I would be ALL for people who cause fatalities because of reckless driving or under the influence while causing these fatalities, have their driving license taken away for life and also be in the system as not even being able to register a vehicle . Until really harsh consequences are handed down for who takes lives with their lawless and reckless operation of a vehicle, we will keep reading these tragic stories. Vehicles are a weapon when operated lawlessly and recklessly, so why not punish these idiots the same way those who have their 2nd A right to buy a gun taken away...and side note I do realize that there is MUCH to be done regarding legislation state by state about who should not be able to buy a gun.
@@ultimatums1 I 'Get" you Dark Knight, but we have to face the facts that many of those who are using guns in these mass shootings are NOT FIT to own one. I am all for the right people buying and owning guns, but when MOST of these awful shootings get boiled down, we are seeing that these people by a large percentage have mental illness. They should be in the system as not appropriate to buy and own guns because they cannot be responsible because of their illness. I will defend gun ownership for those who QUALIFY to do so. All my family owns guns and has from grand parents on down. NONE of them have mental illness and have no criminal histories.

I worked for the LAPD Photo Unit for a long time.
And at the scene of an unnecessary fatality that happened in Westwood, a firefighter told me this:
"There is no safety device, instructions or traffic controls, the STUPID can't completely defy".
That's the problem.
It's not what's around on the streets and safety controls, or the cars themselves.
It's stupid, reckless and inconsiderate drivers that endanger us all.
You'd think, since cars are the second most important property, other than a house, people wouldn't drive them like they only cost $1.98.
And lives, clearly...are worth even less to such drivers. Even their own.

probably because it's higher
Also, the BMW is a passenger car, so it has to meet higher crash survivability standards than an SUV, hence the severe crumpling to absorb as much impact energy as possible.

The Jeep crashed into my friend's Prius in that crash. He just sent me photos of his car. He was at home in bed when it happened. Only learned about it when he went to go to the gym this morning.

Stupid stole the jeep wasn't paying attention and hit the poor kids. No way was someone doing well enough in life able to afford a jeep like like to accidentally do this and try to run and not get caught. Watch what they find out, the jeep was stolen.
There has been fatal crashes involving Ferraris and such. I don’t think doing well in life financially means you won’t commit stupid acts like this.

I was hit twice in one week and it was so scary. Watching this clip breaks my heart for the victims and their families. We have to do better as a community, we rely heavily on one another and things like this are preventable if we one cared for each other.

I’m actually pretty surprised someone driving a Jeep used that vehicle for speeding. It’s usually the ones who drive Japanese race cars or American muscle cars that use those vehicles for driving high speeds, not people who drive Jeeps. Jeeps are typically not used for racing.

This is a new one for me, usually sports cars are responsible for these types of incidents. I was not expecting the jeep to be the speeder.
No matter what people are driving these days they drive like retards. People takeoff from red lights like it’s a NASCAR event only to stop again in a short distance at the next red light and rinse and repeat.
Most Jeeps are used for commuting more than they are used off-road. They can also be used for drunk driving, No mention about the condition of the hit&run driver in this report though.
