- Today I want to bring to your attention a newly playable game for some of the oldest Macs! This is 'Sword of Kadash' - an obscure Mac 128K game with short lived compatibility, and was locked away behind sophisticated DRM for over 35 years!

Loading times on the Mac are not bad either! Every other version I tried the loading times between rooms were terrible - and also you need to create a character disk which can take up to 10 minutes per character! Just pop it in and go on the Mac version! 😎👍
Super cool! Thank you for sharing the information!
Sword of Kadash was the only game a friend had for his Mac. We played it so much.
Cannot wait to try this out!!!
Love me some old Dynamix games, but I wasnt aware of Sword of Kadash. Nice.
Thanks for posting an update video. It's hard to be on top of every addition on the Mac garden. That community is so active and lively. We're so lucky to have them.
Wow. This is awesome!
The graphics are superb. Reminds me of Atic Atac on the ZX Spectrum.
We are not worthy of the skills and hard work of some of these early Mac archival experts. Mad respect.
Godfather of Vintage Mac Gaming
Thanks for reporting on this!
Great video! The Mac community continues to surprise me. 👍🏻
Why does it only work on pre-ADB Macs? I assume it's directly polling the keyboard and mouse interface from the oldest Macs?
I played this game on my Apple II. It was such a weird game.
Was great on the Apple II. Your game was pretty good too.
2 words: DRM Stinks.
Yeah! That was one insanely awesome and terrifc game! Thanks for these videos Gruz
was it Jerod?
Another technically impressive game, possibly made in assembly given the vintage.
I just stumbled on this channel after looking for stuff on retrogaming. Been enjoying it so far!
I'm curious if anyone can recommend any videos or other resources on getting into Mac retrogaming? I grew up with DOS/Windows games and I have no idea where to start. Specifically, I'd like to know more about compatibility and if there are any systems that would be a good start (hopefully not too expensive)?
A few beginners guides on getting into Mac gaming might be a potential idea for this channel too. Just an idea, but I'm not sure if it would be worth the time if most of the audience already knows this stuff.
It really depends on what games you're trying to play. For the black and white 1-bit stuff a Mac SE using System 6 is best. 90's games you'll probably want a Performa with a PowerPC CPU or a PowerMac. 3D games you'll want a PowerMac.
You might start by looking up some of your favorite DOS games and seeing how the Mac version compares. The Mac got a lot of ports and sometimes they would have differences like higher resolution, new music or new levels, as is the case with the Mac version of Wolfenstein 3D!
I can totally see a beginner's guide video being helpful. I'll look into that, thanks!
@@insanelygruz Thanks for the quick response! That's a good point about DOS games. So far I've been looking at exclusives, but I'd also be interested in playing better versions of games that I played as a kid!
Excellent game and excellent video.
cool

WOW. Someone cracked worthless 35 year old games... That's so much cooler than just paying 15 cents to buy them.
Sometimes cracked games get cracked too hard. I just ordered a game because the only version on the internet is cracked in a way that breaks the game.
Yeah definitely pay for your games when it's an option!
