We installed the harness at the dealer and I downloaded the app. Short on daylight & factoring in drive time to our launching spot, we left for the lake in a hurry and mistakenly assumed we had connectivity. Got on the water and kept getting an error message when the app failed to connect. Gave up after a few attempts. When I got home, I took off the cowling to troubleshoot. Everything appeared to have been properly connected and I tested blue tooth connectivity on another device. No problems there either, but I got the same error message and also noticed instead of two steady green lights, I only had one flashing one. I was completely baffled and ran to RUclips. Your video, along with one other I stumbled on, addressed what I suspect is the cause. Namely, we put the terminal cap that came with in the Vessel View package back onto the wiring harness, instead of the one we pulled off the motor. Only hang up was that I left that piece back at the dealer - which is only 10 hours away - across the border in Canada. It arrived yesterday via UPS - sitting here looking at it now - thinking "how could we have missed that?" The boat outfitter did the install. Technically, it's their fault... we did read everything, but I don't remember if the instructions that come with the Vessel View were clear enough and I already discarded them. Can you confirm? Thanks again...
So I did this and it kept disconnecting from the phone when driving. Contacted Mercury and he stated to move it to the drivers side for better connectivity. Just a FYI

Sadly the instruction still says the terminator should be yellow or red. This proves that blue also works!
The unit needs to be placed at the front of the motor if not you may experience connectivity problems.
