    I have a 2022 manufactured 3500 and it came with a 74 jet. I still put in a 72 jet.

    What size jet is recommended for 850 ft elevation?

    • @Upliftyourbrothers
      @Upliftyourbrothers  Год назад

      It probably won’t need much change. I’d take a look at what the factory put in and go try one size down. I’ve heard rumors they changed them at the factory. So the new ones may be better tuned.

    I changed the stock main jet to a 72 and I am getting a lot less fouling on the spark plug after putting 100 hours on it. I operate it at sea level 90% of the time and doesn’t hurt to check/adjust the valve clearance around the 200 hour mark too. At my shop, I have one that’s been kicked around the block a bit still going strong with almost 1,000 hours. Keeping up with the maintenance goes a long way...

    So how did this jet work for you at 4k’ elevation?

    • @Upliftyourbrothers
      @Upliftyourbrothers  2 года назад

      Before the rejet at 4400’ I could barely run both microwave and ac. After the rejet it doesn’t have quiet enough power to get the revs back up to run both. BUT I don’t have any carbon build up that clogs up the spark arrestor. So that’s a win.

    Please verify the stock OEM jet size? Is it 76 or 70? From what I read the stock was 7.0(mm)/.028". My generator is a little lean and want to change the main jet too.

    • @Upliftyourbrothers
      @Upliftyourbrothers  4 года назад

      My generator came with a 76. At my elevation of 4000 ft. (And much higher when camping) it was WAY too rich.
      New size I went with was 68.
      Only way to know for sure what’s yours has it to pull it from the carb.

    Do you know what the 'NEWER" Harbor freight Predator 3500 SKU: 63584, (carb jet number is)? I heard they leaned the carb out? I did order a #72 jet for my older Harbor freight Predator 3500, my choices were #75 then drops to #72, no in betweens? Thanks

    Great video. What city (altitude) are you in? I'm in Texas 6-800' above sea level and tried two things to lean it out. I eliminated the charcoal canister (to lean it out) and popped in a 75 jet. It still blackenes the spark arrestor with that setup. What jet would you guys reccomend I order? (I have a 72 jet on hand but havent installed it due to time constraints) Trying to do this and be done with it. Thanks in advance!

      im at 4000' feet and camp up to 9500'. I went with a 68 jet.
      It runs great and has not clogged up the spark arrestor yet. I have noticed at complete max load (or slightly above) it wont hold 3500 watts. It was able to run both microwave and AC in just slightly overload status. With the leaner jet it will run it if the engine RPM is already up. If the RPM is down or in eco mode and you hit it was 3500 watts all at once it can't seem to get ahead of the load. It will stay bogged down until the low voltage cuts the load. I know part of this is the elevation. At 4000' your supposed to derate it about 3% per 1000' or about 10% in my case. I can't really complain, its just something I've noticed after rejetting.

    Wow! I have a Predator 3500. Mine now runs about half speed, but I think I had bad fuel (one year old, no stabil) and a problem for another day. I'm at 2500' MSL, Las Vegas, wondering what size jet I should install?
    I am SO thinking of replacing my P-3500 with the P-4400 Watt inverter from Harbor Freight. (Model 57509) It sells for $599.99 these days, about $300 cheaper than the P-3500, but... has no electric starter, no battery (just replaced mine on the 3500 with a Mighty Max Battery YTX7L-BS 12V 6Ah Battery from Amazon, $ 24.99 vs $69 for same battery from Harb.Frt) and runs quite a bit louder (no sound suppressing plastic box around it). It also has RV adapter for the 30 amp outlet. What do you think? Your video is much faster than Mr. Garage video of same topic. Thanks!
    Oh... WHERE do I buy these replacement jets that will fit exactly into my P-3500 generator carburetor? Give us a link! Amazon? Local Autozone or O'reilleys?

      @Upliftyourbrothers  4 года назад

      So a quick report back- fuel economy is really hard to determine- can’t say its better but I can only guess it’s slightly better. Less carbon build up on spark arrestor.

    • @Upliftyourbrothers
      @Upliftyourbrothers  4 года назад

      At 4200ft elevation with the stock jet I could get the generator to run over 3200 watts. This is over rated spec. This elevation should derate the the generator about 10% of its HP.
      After the rejet I’m unable to get the generator to do 3200 watts. It can’t keep the rpm up like it needs.
      However. I shouldn’t run it at that load anyway. The trade off is it doesn’t clog up the spark arrestor now causing the generator to die mid trip

    The other way to change the AFR is to increase the airflow.

      Good point. Less restrictive exhaust would help. Intake mod maybe?

      Take a look at the air filter cover, it's pretty restrictive. Some guys have hade a good result from drilling some holes in it
